Inspector Drewes is instructed to investigate a possible fraud at the County’s railway company.
All seems well, until the foreman is discovered murdered the next morning.

1869. Inspector Drewes is called to the West Bartonshire Railway Company in a case of suspected fraud. On arriving it is discovered that one of the foremen has been murdered. Drewes investigates both cases. An interesting murder mystery
