Gate Ghosts #9

Chaotic Futures

Cremsylon and his companions visited the center of the Imperium Empire. That provided an opportunity for Kreus, the first Krackus SADE, to contact the Imperium governor, an AI who controls the planet’s communications. It’s also the repository for the empire’s critical data.

The visit to Imperium happens not once but twice. Each time Kreus spends time perusing the governor’s records, invasions that the AI is incapable of stopping. These intrusions initiate an odd sequence of events.

Grageth, the executor of a territory that the conclave has commandeered, hatches a plan to recover his worlds, which are now protected by conclave warships. He intends to replace a peacekeeper’s crew with a copy of the Imperium governor. The AI will be capable of prosecuting a conclave warship without fear.

While en route from Imperium to an orbital construction platform, Grageth’s copy of the governor undergoes a transformation. When Grageth first speaks to the AI, he bestows the name of Janus on the entity. Unbeknownst to him, Janus has become sentient. Not fully comprehending her circumstances, she doesn’t reveal her new capabilities.

Executors Rebtar and Dakargk work with Grageth to assemble a triad of AI-controlled peacekeepers, including Janus. Then the trio is sent to hunt conclave warships.

In another area of Imperium space, the agrarian Woots, who host a group of sisters and the Dwerves, are visited by the conclave. The Liberation arrives with an armada of Trident squadrons.

From my early years to the present, books have been a refuge. They’ve fueled my imagination. I’ve traveled to faraway places and met aliens with Asimov, Heinlein, Clarke, Herbert, and Le Guin. I’ve explored historical events with Michener and Clavell, and I played spy with Ludlum and Fleming.

There’s no doubt that the early sci-fi masters influenced the writing of my first two series, The Silver Ships and Pyreans. I crafted my stories to give readers intimate views of my characters, who wrestle with the challenges of living in space and inhabiting alien worlds.

Life is rarely easy for these characters, who encounter aliens and calamities, but they persist and flourish. I revel in examining humankind’s will to survive. Not everyone plays fair or exhibits concern for other beings, but that’s another aspect of humans and aliens that I investigate.

My stories offer hope for humans today about what they might accomplish tomorrow far from our home world. Throughout my books, humans exhibit a will to persevere, without detriment to the vast majority of others.

Readers have been generous with their comments, which they’ve left on Amazon and Goodreads for others to review. I truly enjoy what I do, and I’m pleased to read how my stories have positively affected many readers’ lives.

If you’ve read my books, please consider posting a review on Amazon and Goodreads for every book, even a short one. Reviews attract other readers and are a great help to indie authors, such as me.

The Silver Ships novels have reached Amazon’s coveted #1 and #2 Best-Selling Sci-Fi book, multiple times, in the science fiction categories of first contact, space opera, and alien invasion.

“Chaotic Futures” is book nine in the Gate Ghost Series by S. J. Jucha. Jucha is a master storyteller and he also excels in character development, making each individual relatable and layered. The author’s ability to blend science fiction with philosophical questions about fate and free will adds depth to the story. The pacing is expertly handled, balancing action-packed sequences with quieter, introspective moments. The plot twists are well-placed, keeping the suspense alive and making the eventual resolutions satisfying and meaningful. If you enjoy a good tale, you must try this series.

I read this as an audiobook downloaded from Audible. The book is thirteen hours and two minutes. Nicole Poole does a good job narrating this series.

As the world's turn

One part of this book they refer to Earth where there are so many different aliens living there and they manage to all get along.  Yep Science Fiction, we can't accept people because they look exactly like us 2 arms,  two legs, one head, soft skin, no tentacles but the tint of their skin is slightly different than ours. I really wonder will there ever be an Earth where we can accept this?

In SciFi with Sade help we all work together to make things better and most of the aliens work to achieve this too.  This book is better than the last one IMO because we are not trying to follow so many different storylines.  I'm enjoying learning more about the Quellers.

Looking forward to the next book.

The Empire Continues To Crumble

I am enthralled by the way Jucha tells the story of the implosion of the Empire as it continues to struggle against the Conclave. The story telling around the conflicts between the Conclave and other entities is fantastic whether the other entity is the expansive Empire , the Quellers, the Radags, or the collection of Sisters and Dwerves at the Woot system.

This is a great read.

More challenges as conclave interacts with Empire and their captive worlds.

SADES lead the way in first contacts while our heroes support on going developments. Copies of the Empire governor AI become sentinels. More problems and opportunities. Different worlds have to change to work to join the Conclave.

Space opera rapidly descends into soap opera as the author’s obsession with rushing through story lines with minimal intrigue leads to a mishmash of unrelenting and unrelated plots.

The series is all creativity with zero execution.

Not bad, but it's getting long

After 9 books the politics are getting exponential harder to keep track of. I feel like often the action is few and far between.

holds attention but not at jucha’s best

This book holds the reader’s attention but it’s not at jucha’s best. Good enough to continue to follow the series.

The thing with the cold water was a bit silly. The rest of the book I enjoyed a lot. Some exciting twists, it was a page turner. I started listening to the next one immediately.
