After the death of her mother, sixteen year old Zoe was on her own, uncertain of her future, angry and upset. Until a stranger arrived for her. Ryan took Zoe to Featherwood Falls where a family awaited her, a family she didn't know she had. Her grandparents, Lola and Frank, and her father, were kind and caring. Zoe wasn't sure about this little town and if it would be a fit for her, after living her whole life so far in Brisbane. But she was prepared to give it a go.
Emma had had trauma in her life; now she was a teacher's aid at the Featherwood Falls school, loving working with the children. Her new puppy, Piccolo, was adorable, and learning quickly. When Emma bumped into the last person she'd expected to see, she quickly realised that not much had changed. But it was when Zoe heard a voice from her past that changed things dramatically...
Clouds over Featherwood Falls is the 4th in the Featherwood Falls series by Aussie author Heather Reyburn and I loved it. A contemporary romance, with a lining of mystery and suspense, the author writes my sort of books. I enjoyed catching up with the characters from the previous books; Lola is beautiful, Emma is kind and caring, while Zoe, with her chaotic past, is a mature and hard working sixteen year old. I'm looking forward to #5. Highly recommended.

This is the first book I have read in this series and by this author and I don’t know why it has taken me so long, because it is a beautiful story in such a lovely setting with wonderful characters that I know I am going to love when I pick up the first three books and I am looking forward to them, this time we meet sixteen year old Zoe who has had her life turned upside down, can a new family and a small town help her?
Tragedy has taken Zoe away from the city to a small country town, with an unexpected new family, what will happen to her dreams of university and the life she wants, will she fit in here and the farming life?
Lola and husband Frank run the general store and post office, she also cares for injured animals and they love Featherwood Falls, their son Ryan travels the country for his job and sadly is still single, Lola would love a grandchild and to see Ryan settled, will she get her wish?
Emma grew up in Featherwood Falls an only child, her and Ryan had plans for the future together when her mother had a stroke and her life changed, Ryan moved away and Emma never made it to university, after twenty five years could that all change for her?
This is a beautiful, moving and emotional story, will these three woman get the chance to have their wishes granted and find the true happiness that they all so deserve? Zoe, Lola, Emma and Ryan are such awesome characters they are all so easy to make friends with, this is one that I highly recommend and I can’t wait to read the first three, it can be read as a stand-alone and I do look forward to more visits to Featherwood Falls.

Once again, I have enjoyed my return trip to the quaint little town of Featherwood Falls.
The fourth book in the series will not disappoint - page after page, chapter after chapter, I could not put it down - read in less than one day! This story revolves around Lola and Frank who own the town store, their son Ryan who turns up on their doorstep with a daughter Zoe, that he did not know her had and Emma, Ryan’s childhood sweetheart. Will Emma and Ryan be reunited?
I just loved this story from the start and is probably my favorite in the series. You heart goes out to Zoe, a young girl who loses her mum in tragic circumstances and is introduced to family she new nothing about - her dad and grandparents. To top it all off, she moves from the city to a small country town. I love the way the whole community wraps their arms around Zoe, without smothering her, and welcoming her to the close knit community. This book will not disappoint! Highly recommend 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I can't get enough of the small town of Featherwood Falls and it's rural surrounds, and not just because its set close to where I live and I know the area. A layered story with a young protagonist, providing a window into grief, discovery and re-connection between three generations of one family, and their close relationships with friends in the community. I especially enjoyed the developing bonds between Lola and her granddaughter, which moved me to tears at times. Women's fiction well done. Five stars. My favourite book in the series so far!

I really enjoyed this book, this is an interesting story with lots of great characters. It will keep your interest. There is lots of family and friends, a small town where everyone is close and care for one another. There are problems that the characters have to deal with, which makes an interesting story.This is well written . I highly recommend this book to anyone. Family, friends and community are vital threads for mental and physical wellbeing. Although life can take different and unpredictable paths these threads anchor support and comfort.
Zoe lucked out on her throw of the life dice.
Although her mum was loving she used and abused drugs to escape personal haunts, leading to circumstances that would alter her young daughter’s life.
After tragedy strikes Zoe leaves everyone and everything she knows to live in Featherwood Falls with a father she has just met and doting grandparents that help ease the pain and enhance the transition.
With life turned upside down Zoe has to decide if this is place or life she wants.
New friends, rekindled relationships, health scares and darkness from her past shape her experience.
The joy and love new grandmother Lola had was so radiant and real I could feel it from the pages.
A feel good story that had its misfortunes and dramas.
It would be so comforting to know displaced children were this lucky.

Loved getting to know Emma and Zoe.
Even though this book is Book 4 in a series, you can definitely read it as a stand-alone.
Featherwood Falls brings family and friends together in good times and bad. A small town support network helps two teenage girls find peace when they both have tragic experiences in their lives.
Loved it, Heather, and it was lovely to meet you in person recently.

Heather Reyburn writes in an easy, fluent manner, developing a well-paced story with optimum detail and a plot that includes some intrigue and danger, family loyalty, community harmony and romance. A young girl learns the value of family and friends.
After the tragic, drug-related death of her mother, Zoe’s newly discovered father, Ryan, takes her, from Brisbane, to stay with his parents, store-owners, Frank and Lola, in Featherwood Falls for the summer holidays. As the small community embraces Zoe, she is encouraged in her love of music and discovers new talents. A series of circumstances result in her father re-uniting with his high-school girlfriend and the resolution of long-standing criminal activities in the area.
This is my first novel by this author and, although it is part of a series best read in order, I enjoyed the plot, characters and activities of this story as it was fairly easy to get the gist of the content in previous books. I received a free review copy from the author, and this is my honest opinion.

I've loved being able to read this series in order, one following on from the previous one, like a lovely, long book.
The way the characters are involved is authentic, characters we've already met reappear and new ones are introduced, each being beautifully developed.
Lola and Frank are just wonderful, salt of the earth people who welcome a Granddaughter they had no idea they had as you would expect them to, but unless Zoe's character was written so well the book could have gone downhill - it most definitely didn't.
Definitely a series I am happy to recommend highly - easy, enjoyable reading with people you come to love and a few you don't like at all.
