I’m really enjoying the graphic novel adaptations of The Magic Tree House series. They stay true to the story why also adding fun and beautiful illustrations. This is one of my favorites in both the prose and graphic novel series as it brings in conversations about conservation and the importance of protecting the rain forests. Overall, another solid addition to the series.
I have been LOVING revisiting The Magic Tree House books as graphic novels. This one was set in the Amazon and the colors were so vibrant and beautiful. The animals were so cute and it really brought the story to life! My sister even made fun of me when I reacted, laughed or showd her a page in excitement. She said "You seem to be enjoying these more than the originals" lol While that's not true, I'm just happy to reenjoy these as if for the first time again. Still a lot of fun facts, beautiful illustrations and can finish it in less than an hour for a quick read! Haha Absolutely recommend! Especially for young and reluctant readers! These entire series, original, fact trackers, illustrated editions, Merlin series and now the graphic novels are just great! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Love this series as b9oks, and the graphic novels are fun too! They keep the whole plot of the book and barely change the dialogue. This particular one had stunning graphics for the rainforest!
The story isn’t bad. The pictures are beautiful. But compared to the original text, this feels so thin. I think this book would be great for some struggling readers, but for most, I would recommend the original novel.
Okay I'm hooked on Mary Pope Osborne books. This was an interesting trip down the Amazon, and the artwork was wonderful. I'm still not a big fan of to be continued.
I received a copy of this book for my honest opinion.
Another Magic Tree House made into a graphic novel, and it doesn't disappoint. Graphic novels are all the rage with kids now and, even though I was reluctant at first, I think these graphic novels are a great addition to the MTH canon, especially for slow or reluctant readers. My three-year can't read the chapter books but he loves to follow along to the graphic novels, making story time easier with the three-year age gap between my kiddos. My eldest has heard/read all the MTH canon but is still interested and motivated to read these graphic novel adaptations, and honestly, I am too! Since the original chapter book was written in 1995, it is nice to see this one updated with modern facts about the Amazon and an ending focusing on environmentalism and the importance of rain forests.
Jack and Annie found a magic tree house that could take them anywhere they wish to go. This time, they embark on a journey to the Amazon rain forest.
Known as 'the lungs of the planet', the vibrant artwork highlights the greenish of this famous forest. From army ants to Amazon river to piranhas, the pages are loaded with exuberant wildlife - one is transported to this land of undiscovered and exotic local animals, and the wilderness that seems dangerous is in fact one of the world's most beautiful things. Additionally, the neat prose makes it easy to follow the story.
AFTERNOON ON THE AMAZON GRAPHIC NOVEL is adventure at its best. I thoroughly loved this book.
[ I received a complimentary copy from the publisher - Random House kids . All opinions are my own ]
The treehouse takes Annie and Jack to the Amazon to find the next object need to help free Morgan. But can they find one object in the dense rainforest and stay safe from all the dangerous animals?
This was my favorite Magic Tree House graphic novel in a while. Annie and Jack help readers learn a bit about the flora and fauna of the Amazon through their little adventure, and the artwork was just stunning.
Notes on content: Language: None Sexual content: None Violence: They run across some perilous creatures but realize the animals aren’t being mean, just trying to survive. They manage to avoid any bites. Ethnic diversity: Annie and Jack are white Americans. LGBTQ+ content: None specified Other: The book tactfully and briefly mentions the things threatening the Amazon.
This is the sixth Magic Treehouse Graphic Novel. It is an adaptation of Mary Pope Osbourne's Afternoon on the Amazon. This time Jack and Annie are transported to the Amazon rainforest where they run into a variety of animals. The book contains facts about the rainforest and its inhabitants. The illustrations capture the luscious environment. The book ends with a section "Amazing Amazon Facts" and a preview of another graphic novel adventure.
My son challenged me to read all six magic treehouse graphic navels. this is my favorite magic treehouse book. it is the one that made me fall in love with the series. The graphic novel did not disappoint. The pictures were back to their bright colors. the expression on the characters matched the surprises found in the story. It made me laugh out loud several times
I'm still loving this series. The art is so cute, and it definitely gives some of the educational tidbits that the original books did (this one even more with the extra stuff at the end). I do like that this chunk of books seems to have a bit of a through storyline to them with the Morgan le Fay plot, which is interesting.
I need every book in the Magic Tree House series to be adapted as graphic novels. This series is awesome in this format. I've read basically all of them and I need more graphic novels for Jack and Annie's adventures. These are awesome ways of bringing the series to new readers while also letting longtime fans have a new way to experience the series all over again!
I think I prefer the originals for reading out loud. There were hardly any words and I think would be better suited for older kids to read to themselves. Although, my four year old did love flipping through them on his own when we weren’t reading, he frequently asked “what’s going on?” while we were reading.
i love this graphic novel adaptations and i feel like they really bring these classic stories to life. i actually learned some things about the amazon that i didn’t know before. it interested me enough to go learn more.
I liked it! This was more illustrated than the actual series(which I did not read)Makes me wish I was stronger reader when I was a kid. I can't wait to read more and hopefully this sticks all the way to the final book in the original series and make some for the Merlin Missions.
In this book, Jack and Annie traveled to the Amazon rainforest to find a lost plant. They explored the jungle, encounter animals, and learn about the environment to find the plant. I liked this book because it learning and adventure. The graphic novel is a good way to get children's engagement. In my classroom I would use this for guided reading. I will talk to students about teamwork, problem solving, and the rainforest.

I read this right after the book and I have to say the pictures really add something to the story and the text isn't really changed except to occasional make things a little more modern. Fun adventure.
Jack and Annie need to find a magic ingredient in the Amazon. They are chased by the dangers of the Amazon and have to escape, good thing a capuchin monkey helps them. Magic treehouse is predictable but fun.
