Could there really be a monster living in the Great Salt Lake?
When Ellen and her friends get the opportunity to help build a bed and breakfast on an island in the Great Salt Lake, they are drawn into its mysterious legends. There's no denying that the broken bridge that once joined the island to the mainland is haunted, but what is really behind the strange occurrences surrounding it?If you can't get enough of Karen White, Heather Graham, Bobbie Holmes, or Jana Deleon, then this "perfect mix of fun and scary" paranormal mystery is for you!
The books in this series can be read in any order.
Eva Pohler is a USA Today bestselling author of over forty novels in multiple genres, including mysteries, thrillers, and young adult paranormal romance based. Her books have been described as "addictive" and "sure to thrill"--Kirkus Reviews.
I really can not get enough of Eva Pohler's books. Each one better than the next. I can tell you she is an excellent story teller. So much thought went into each of her books. I can not wait for the next one to come out. Get ready to read when you open the cover. For you will not be able to put it down.
I wanted to love this so badly. The author clearly spent a great deal of time researching Utah and incorporated so much of the history into this story, but the time line and plot were just so unrealistic. No cop is going to let a witness sit in on an interview, or get DNA results back in the same day. I get that it's fiction, but it still needs to be somewhat realistic.
This book has a lot of good ratings and the author has a lot of fans, so I know I'm going to be in the minority with this review.
I read one page. Yes, just one. In that one page, all I was told about was the hairstyles of three women. For some reason, THAT is what the author found most important to hook readers into the story. That's what she thought I need to know about the characters right off the bat. My immediate reaction was that this book was going to be too silly, too shallow, too simplistic-and-feed-it-to-them-with-lots-of-explanations. This just is not my cup of tea. I don't disparage those who like this sort of book because we all have different tastes and read for different reasons, but I like to have something solid behind a story.
The author has great marketing, which I understand is necessary for self-published authors, but this series is not for me.
I've read this whole series and it's truly fantastic! However, this one has so much emotion and so much closure in it, that I'd have to put it up at the top of the chart! I've always appreciated how Eva mixes true events with fantasy and I feel that just puts the reader in the moment so much easier. This book has some serial killers from history who made appearances. Although one might think "how terrifying," it was done with such class that they blended into being just another character and not a famous serial killer. There was nothing scarier than her normal books and she absolutely did not immortalize these characters. Eva Pohler is a stand-up true to her roots and beliefs author, and I highly recommend her to anyone!
Ok... This is fun to listen to. A new volume will be released soon making 14 already. They are all episodic. Not very long, and perfect to listen to while making dinner or another boring chore like laundry. The accent is perfect to bring to life these characters. I love Sue. She makes me laugh.
Paranormal, thriller, mystery. They are wonderful investigators who can talk to the ghosts and help them solve crimes, at the same time, they are also great building renovators and love a frozen margarita. They have a lot of knowledge in different subjects. It's fun.
Every 13 years someone commits suicide in the same hotel room... and our investigators are going to stay there for 10 days, but the room is not the only place with a murder history.
This book amps up the suspense and chills, but also the fun as the three elder ladies search for a lake monster, a murder victim from many years ago, and a haunting in a hotel that causes people to commit suicide. They get help from another trio of ghost hunters and dubious assistance from a trio of brothers. Interspersed liberally and keeping the story from getting too dark are light moments, sightseeing, a couple of helpful ghosts and of course the fun banter. This series of stand alone mysteries just keeps getting better. I'm already looking forward to the next book.
Thank you Libro FM for the ALC of The Haunted Bridge! All opinions in this review are my own.
Although this book is well into the Mystery House series, it was the first one that I read. I liked the blend of paranormal with mystery and how they tied it to actual historical events. The audiobook is read by the author which is always a plus for me. It seems like each book in the series is set in a different location which is a cool idea!
Love this series. I normally tear through the books in a couple of days. For some reason this book was difficult for me to get into. I’ve read several books about Ted Bundy and even with that angle I just found it hard to really care about the extra characters and story line. Looking forward to the next book in Arkansas

Again Eva has managed to spin an addictive tale of mystery! This series will capture you at the first chapter and keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end. I can't wait for the next one.
I didn't get very far in this one. I couldn't tell the characters apart, there were too many of them, and I hadn't realized this was an adult book. Adult horror is not my genre. Thanks to Libro.FM for a free educator copy of the audiobook.
The mystery house series has a fun and unique storyline of old friends solving historical mysteries through paranormal studies. The latest visits Salt Lake City. Every book is a standalone, but it’s always nice to revisit old friends.
The Haunted Bridge by Eva Pohler is about Ellen, Sue, and Tanya trying to help build a bed and breakfast on an island in the great salt lakes. They also have a few mysteries to solve. I love the relationship between the characters. My favorite character is Sue because she is funny. Overall, this book is amazing.
