The Lord Is My ShepherdÂ

Rate this book
William Barclay, one of the most beloved of all authors, speaks on one of the most cherished books of the Bible--the Psalms. This unique collection of devotional studies is written in the same distinctive style as Barclay's interpretation of the New Testament in the Daily Study Bible. Each exposition is written not so much as a commentary but as a meditation, making The Lord is My Shepherd ideal for both devotional reading and serious Bible study. The William Barclay Library is a collection of books addressing the great issues of the Christian faith. As one of the world's most widely read interpreters of the Bible and its meaning, William Barclay devoted his life to helping people become more faithful disciples of Jesus Christ.

Barclay is a favorite Biblical commentator, but this one left me a little flat. However, I did learn some things; typical Barclay!!! It's worth the read at 132 pages.

I used Barclay's Daily Bible Series for the New Testament when I taught adult Sunday School classes for their fresh insight and comprehensible explanations. I always wished he would expand into the Old Testament. This slim volume represents his Old Testament venture. One a few Psalms are presented, but the wealth of understanding and knowledge he shares make this a valuable addition to any layperson's library.
