There is an author, who goes by the name of Fel. He releases his stories, chapter by chapter to the internet. They vary in genres, including fantasy and sci-fi. Several of these books are comparable in length to the epic story Les Miserable's, or longer.
This book does a much better job than the previous in the series (Unification) of balancing the narrative pacing with the smut / slice of life diversions. Though it still suffers from a lot of repetition. Again an editorial pass would be very welcome, but it doesn't detract too much from the book.
Quite a good deal of action, with some major battles happening. And we also see some parts from the point of view of side characters, which I think may be a first in this series. A welcome change of pace as the protagonist is now too important to risk in direct conflict and otherwise we'd be getting the battles through reports as he was informed.
I'll not go too deeply into the plot, as if you've read the previous three books you're going to read this regardless. Suffice to say it's interesting and exciting in equal measures.
