In this thrilling 144-page companion novella we learn the fate of Adam, the Mogadorian-turned-ally of the Garde who risked his life to save Sam.
Adam helped Sam Goode and his father, Malcolm, escape the Mogadorian base in Dulce, New Mexico. Using the Legacy that One bestowed upon him, Adam sacrificed himself and brought the entire facility crumbling down on his head.
Miraculously, Adam survives in one piece, and he also discovers something incredible that the Mogadorians had been hiding from the Garde. Separated from his allies, Adam sets out on a quest to find the one thing the Garde have been missing all these years, the very thing that could turn the tide in this war.
I knew it! I knew it! I KNEW IT! I once wrote a tumblr post telling my theories about The Fall of Five and Th Forgotten Ones! So yeah, one of my theories was right! IT WAS THE CHIMAERA! ADAM FINALLY DISCOVERED THEM!
It's so cool to see other people's reviews and see how people react differently based on whether they read the short stories before or after the main books.
I'm surprised there's so much background for Adam, who was never one of my favorite characters, but I really love seeing pieces of the main story being filled in.
This is my favorite Lost file so far. Hell, yeah! It was the best.
I fell in love with the beginning of the book. It begins exactly where The search from Sam ends. He was badly hurt, thirsty, hungry and he find a survivor. I almost die when i read the name. Saturnus?? jajajaj Plus he find another being.
Adam has to find what the Garde needs to win the battle. Something they completely forgot. And he need the help of an 'enemie', so he can find it.
Here you'll see how much adam has grew up. he has to make some desicions that can cost his live. And trust people he's supposed not to trust.
What I really loved of this e-novella was ADAMUS. He finally accept that One's gone and she'll never come back. And now he trust him self and he knows he can do this. He knows he has the strengh and heart to do what's right. The dude finally realized it!!! He finally knows He can to do it! He became stronger mentally.
Y-E-A-H!
If you liked the other Lost files. you're definaly gonna love this one. So if you didn't read it yet go and buy it.
Again, the story was told in Adam's perspective. I don't know why but as I dwell deeper inside Adam's head, as I become more acquainted with his way of thinking and personality, I get more attached to him. He's quite an exceptional story. And his meeting with Rex makes me realize one vital thing about people. I enjoyed reading this novella immensely. It's short but enthralling and action packed. PS, I feel like it's a teaser of The Fall of Five
Oh Lore! You did it again! As the old adage goes.. "once you pop, you can't stop!" and now I just can't get enough! I'm super excited for the Fall of Five! I sooo love Adam! I can't wait to see him work with the other Garde! I also liked Rex.. he was a big help in saving the Chimaeras. I can't wait to see the Garde reunite with their Chimaeras! The Lost Files just keep getting better! This book is really in my heart! This is the best of all The Lost Files so far & I loved it from the first page to the last.
"New developments are yet to reveal themselves. Not all the information is in. No. Don't give up hope just yet. It's the last thing to go. When you have lost hope, you have lost everything." - Henri, I Am Number Four
This companion novella continues the story of Adamus the Mogadorian-turned-ally in his point of view. I love the fact that there is still one good Mogadorian out there.
This was definitely a teaser of the 4th book, The Fall of Five.
Hmmm... this was nice enough, but at this point I feel a bit overwhelmed by the number of novellas for this series, which makes me feel like I have to "work through" all of them. But I guess that is my problem and not the author's fault. He definitely wants to give us lots of background stories, so we're completely immersed in this world. It's probably also not helpful that this is my second time reading the original series, but the first time for the novellas. I think it works mich better when you read them all together from the beginning, because I often already know where the plot is headed, so there is not much suspense.
cement: p9: The wreckage is everywhere--rocks and cement and toppled columns, busted computers and equipment with their exposed electrical wires sparking dangerously.
p12: I'm soaked in sweat, though, and practically panting for air as we pull ourselves up the side of the cliff, using toppled girders and jutting pieces of cement and whatever we can find to use as handholds.
Adamus turns out to be a promising ally. Even turns another into an ally for himself.
One more story told by one of my favourite characters, Adamus. I really enjoyed how the plot gave us an interesting background to the "The Falll od Five" - it made me understand a lot of things even better.
I don’t always write reviews on the novellas that I read, usually because they are so short. I loved most of the stories in the Lost Legacies series, but since so many of them were twenty pages or less I didn’t think that writing a review made much sense, plus I usually read those out of order since I just think they are fun and don’t put as much time and energy into making sure I read them in the correct order. Some people have said that they think the novellas are necessary to the storyline of the I Am Number Four Series, but as someone who has been reading them after the sequels are out, I can tell you that while they are not necessary, they are great additions to the story. The Forgotten Ones, the sixth novella in the Lost Files set, followers the time in between the third and forth books. The Mogadorian base in Dulce has been destroyed by the traitor Adam and the Gaurde. This novella follows what Adam was doing between then and when he called Sam to warn him that the Mogs had discovered their hidden base. During those weeks, Adam (thought to be dead) had been running from his father and the others from his planet. That is, until he discovered that the Mogs were experimenting on Crimera. Risking his life, he travels to New York in the hopes of freeing the Crimera and uniting them with the Gaurde.
When I read The Fall of Five a few months ago, I had wondered how Adam, our favorite Mogadorian, managed to survive the events at the Dulce base and reach the Lorien under attack in Chicago. Well, The Forgotten Ones pretty much answered my question. Despite the novel's shortness, the events were really engaging and interesting. I liked seeing Adam again, on his quest to help the Lorien from the cruelty of his own people. It was quite exciting to see Adam's Legacies in action. I was also interested to know that he wasn't exactly alone when he escaped. Although Rex wasn't as changed a Mogadorian like Adam, it was quite nice of him to help out Adam as much as he could. I also liked reading about Dust; it's nice to know that another Chimaera survived apart from Bernie Kosar, and maybe even more. I was a little cut short with the ending of course, but I only have to look forward to The Revenge of Seven. :)
Another novella from Adam's point of view and I loved it. I love that there's one good Mogadorian out there fighting for the Lorien. Rex really surprised me by helping Adam rescue the chimaera, and I had high hopes that he would continue on with Rex and go help the Garde. Even though he stayed behind, maybe we'll get a surprise from Rex later on in the series. I'm furious that the Mogadorians have been experimenting on the chimaera, and it seems as though a couple are seriously hurt. At least Adam escaped with some of them and I'm sure they will be invaluable to the Garde. Hopefully the Mogadorians are not able to replicate the shape shifting gene. Great novella! Can't wait for The Fall of Five!
So happy that I picked this up right before the next book was released. Looking forward to getting into the story as it progresses. I am happy that we got more information and more of Adam, but I am disappointed that there aren't more chimera to rescue. I wanted Adam to find the chimera intact and unharmed. I get that the Mogs are awful, but there is so much destruction and death in the stories leading up to the between the numbers that I wanted something more positive than Adam finding and rescuing the survivors. I have to admit that I also had a hope that Rex would turn to the good so that we could see the Mogs being converted as a future possiblity. Or that he was inhabited by one of the other deceased Loric.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This book cleared up a lot of things for me like how Adam got the Chimaera and how he knew how to find the Garde. I also liked reading about Adam's adventure with Rex by his side. I thought Rex was an interesting character that I never got around to disliking. I've enjoyed getting inside of Adam's head and reading about everything that he has gone through. Also I've come to love Adam. He is an amazing character with a unique story that I found most entertaining. I now can't wait to see what else he's going to do in United as One and am sad to see his story and point of view over.
Nov 13, 2014 I really liked it! The ending made me sad, but since I read The Fall of Five, I knew what happens after. I would read The Fall of Five BEFORE you read this novella. This has some spoilers for the book (even though it's kind of a prequel.) it's in the POV of Adam, whom I love so very much. Wish One was alive for his sake. Poor babe.
Nov 18, 2022: still a 5/5, the ending still made me sad, I teared up a little. I love him so much, he still holds up. I recommend BEFORE The Fall of Five. I also recommend reading in this order: Novella 3, 4, then 6 because they take place immediately after the other.
And that's done. Adam is definitely one of my favorite characters. I love his story and his vibe. In a way, he's an opposite of Five, thinking about it now.
I love how part of the plot here hinges on America's shitty public transportation. Very relatable.
I've been lying on the grass of this park for like an hour and it's been great.
