This is a good, tense story of tension and suspense that floats back and forth from uncertainty of identity and claustrophobic isolation to different viewpoints that present various pieces of the puzzle. It's interesting to note that the name of the main character is close to "alone" spelled backwards. Navarro had had most of success with big, globe-spanning-concept works like Final Impact and Afterage, and this tight psychological study of an individual was quite a contrast. It's a quiet thriller to read.

Okay so I read the wrong “That’s Not My Name” and that’s 5 days of my life I will never get back. This book intrigued me at the beginning then promptly went downhill.

Do. Not. Read. This. Book.
First of all, I only read it on accident bc I got the wrong author, same title.
Second of all, this book is so bad. SO bad. So so terribly bad.
Nothing happens the whole book. NOTHING! Until the very end when the stupidest fucking shit happens, all of which you see coming from light years away it’s so bad.

And the ending just makes me sick it’s so dumb, and it honestly just tried to make abuse okay? Like oh well it’s fine that the abuse happened let’s just “MOVE ON”, as she kept saying.
All of those people need extensive therapy, and the assumption that ANY of that was fine and they COULD just move on???? Insane and beyond problematic.

I really should have DNFed and so many people told me to but I’m a curious person and I wanted to see how much worse it could get. It did indeed get worse.

I read 60% until I realized Morgan downloaded the wrong book bc there was no way this was a 4 on good reads. I’ll never know what happens at the end but that’s okay it’s already embarrassing I read any of this book. 2 stars bc the first chapter was good and then it went downhill. I gotta read a non fiction next bc I lost brain cells I think

As a nighttime reader, it’s not often that a book makes me want to read during the day, but this one did. So suspenseful and mildly frustrating at times. The ending was a little odd and that’s why it’s a 4 star and not a 5 star for me but super good book!

3.5 stars. Not bad. But I just didn't 'feel' this book.
Well. It is actually hard to say something about it. It is the Stokholm syndrom at its finest. It wasn't a page-turner. When Nola gave up the fight I was ready to drop the book and give up too,but I forced,yes forced,myself to read it. It is written from several POV,so it was hard to actually simpathyze with supposedly main characters(who was the main character anyway?) ,therefore I didn't feel quite connected to any of them. The plot is quite clear after first 30% of the book. The ending is known from somewhere at 50%. What I did wit h the rest percentage? No idea... floated in and out of consciousness?
