One of the better information comics that the EU has produced, as indicated by the fact that it actually got the Alph-Art Communication Award at the Angoulême festival the year it was originally published.

This is a fictitious story about a parliament member fighting for a new EU resolution on water, making it a natural resource belonging to everyone and not just to big corporations to do with as they wish. As the political game this enterprise turn into plays out, there is also a more tangible affair of pollution going on, with elements of a detective story which adds some action to the otherwise somewhat dreary political process.

This story is quite OK actually, for an information comic. It feels a bit like watching an episode of the TV-series West Wing, where you had to hold on to your hat not to miss all the quibbling that went on behind decision making in Washington DC. That a member of the EU Parliament would be acting as some kind af action hero/detective is of course a really strange notion, but so are often the premise for more traditional French albums, so this actually didn't seem so strange.

The art is also OK, standard fare for a "realistic" French comics album, though not spectacular in any way.

All-in-all, this is one of my favourite EU comics, well worth getting. After-all, it will at least be worth the cost, which is... nothing.

I'm going to try to get hold of, read and review all comics officially made by the EU. So far, I've covered the following:

* Rebonds
* Hidden Disaster
* Competition in Europe it's your deal
* Infected
* Julia's and Steven's Adventure: Discovering the World of Organic Farming
* Sju livsöden - Vägen till framgång med Europeiska socialfonden
* En berättelse om tre generationer bönder
* All You Need is Space
* Partners
* Troubled Waters

If you want to read any of these books, most are available as pdf:s to download for free, at the EU online bookshop .

To ξέθαψα από τη βιβλιοθήκη μου.
