Sometimes life takes you down a completely different path from the one you had originally planned.
After successfully rescuing the daughter of a draconian senator and other innocent women from a vampire psychopath, Sam and fellow warriors, Zoricah and Yara, have to trade sunny New York for gloomy London. Time is running out on their unfinished mission. More innocent people will die if they don’t catch the person behind the attacks in New York. But something is making Sam lose control of her powers. Something or someone. Ever since her first - and quite heated - encounter with Hikuro, her energies had gone haywire. The vampire king’s second in command affected her in a way no one had ever before. Her torment, however, is bound to get worse, with Hikuro’s unexpected arrival in London.
Ever since she set foot on vampire territory, Sam had turned Hikuro’s carefully controlled life upside down. He doesn’t trust her, but some strange force pulled him toward her; an inexplicable attraction that defies centuries of training. But if Hikuro is to keep his king safe, he must keep a close eye on Sam, even if he loses his sanity and his heart in the process.
Praises to 'Dragon Heat - Book 1' by Ella J Phoenix: “Love the heat.” (CreativeDeeds.wordpress.com) “Phoenix you’ve got yourself a new fan.” (Redhotbooks.com) “Wow! Talk about hot! And I'm not just talking about the dragon fire!” (transcendingdreams.net)
I discovered I was additcted to the paranormal when I was quite young - I blame it on the super heroes. Damn you, Wonder Woman! That passion led me to a number of amateur theatre productions in my home town, then ultimately to a bachelor’s degree in Performing Arts. It wasn't very cool to spend five years working my ass off for no money. But, I have to say, it was then that I made my first attempts into the literary world. The first ones were writing children’s plays for my family’s language school. After a couple of blunders, I decided to translate Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream into a dancing and kicking play. It was so much fun that after that, let’s just say that I caught the bug.
For the most part I enjoyed this book. I love the whole concept of vampires and dragons with other magical creatures getting a mention here and there. In the second book of the Dragon Heat series Sam is pushed to the forefront as her unique capabilities are needed. She has a thorn in her side in the form Hikuro, the vampire king's second-in-command. The just seem to rub each other the wrong way. When Hikuro is sent to London to give them news, an explosion forces them to work together. Interspersed was Tardieh and Zoricah and their little tiff about marriage and taking the next step despite their races not usually seeing eye-to-eye.
My biggest gripe was Sam. There was constant talk of her being this awesome warrior who fights valiantly and well. And yet when the fights happened I found her to impulsive, weak and stupid. She was ill-disciplined and unnecessarily stupid.
New characters were introduced making this series more intriguing. I look forward to seeing Rafe up against Yara (pun intended).
This is the second book of the Dragon Heat series and my favorite so far. Love the way the author continued right off from where book one left off and added some extra twists and spice. Awesome! Any fan of the genre will fully enjoy Vampires Thirst!
Sam has a past she can’t much remember. When investigating some leads brings her to a place that sparks some of her past. Well let’s just say she’s one hot mess! Hikuro was raised a warrior with great strength and determination. For many years he has been tested and always won. But now he finds himself unable to resist. See, he’s rather weak with it comes to only one thing. Make that one person, Sam.
Love these two together and I’m happy with the way Sam, Hikuro and Zoricah and Tardieh relationships are progressing. I cannot wait for book 3 and what else is to come! I strongly recommend reading book one of the series before cracking open this bad boy. There’s some awesome history you DO NOT want to miss out on with the characters :)
3.5★★★★Vampire Thirst by Ella J. Phoenix (Dragon Heat #2)
I won this R2R in exchange for my honest opinion through LibraryThing Member Giveaway.
Not sure how or why, I got a hold of the second book in a series, without reading number one. This truly drives me crazy.
This book had some hot scenes in it. It also kept my interest. Yet, I found parts to be some what confusing. I figure this is from not reading book 1. I suppose if I did read Dragon Heat, it would all make sense to me.
Thank you to the author for sharing this book with me, it is a world I'm sure I could fall in love with.
4 1/2 star read! More Dragons, Vampires, Shifters and now Werewolves, Oh my!
While reading DRAGON HEAT, I fell into total crush mode over Hikuro. There was something about him that told me there was fire beneath that stoic face, and was I right. Sent to London by Tardieh, to check on the girls, and still drawn to Sam’s side, Hikuro tags along when she doesn’t want him to, much to her annoyance. She can’t seem to breathe when he’s around or think, for that matter. Her body heats up when she doesn’t want it to and her thoughts wander to his muscular body and fiery eyes on her – constantly.
In VAMPIRE THIRST by Ella J. Phoenix the reader is treated to more characters, including a sexy werewolf named Rafe who will surely be showing up to cause plenty of trouble for Yara in the next Dragon Heat series installment, and more plotline to lead us further into the mystery of who is behind it all. We learn more about Sam, her past, her haunting nightmares, and her abilities. We watch as she and Hikuro give into their temptations even while she fears the result. We experience the angst that Zoricah feels when she acknowledges her need to be a huge part of Tardieh’s life and we cheer as more bad guys are expedited straight to hell. I'd love to tell you more of what is in store for you when you read this amazing paranormal romance but then I'd spoil it for you.
If you haven’t started reading this series that features dragons, vampires, shifters, and more, do – please – you’re missing a fabulous tale.
I highly recommend VAMPIRE THIRST by Ella J. Phoenix to anyone who loves paranormal romance, action, fast-paced storylines, and hotter characters than even our favorites from Charlaine Harris. VAMPIRE THIRST gives us extraordinary characters, action that crosses into otherworldly planes, danger and excitement that will thrill and excite, and romance that will steam your glasses or at least the front of your reader. Experience the Dragon Heat series for yourself. You will be hooked immediately.

After devouring the first book (Dragon Heat) I was so excited to read this one. I consider myself lucky that I got to read book 1 &2 together. I was hooked and needed more of the magical and oh so sexy world Ella has created.
This book starts off giving us a recap of book #1 and we also get a glossary of terms at the beginning.
After the sizzling chemistry between Sam and Hikuro that was heating up my Kindle, I was dying to read about them. The way he acted at the end of book one had me wanting more.
Sam is a female warrior on Zoricah's team. She is a powerful human with amazing powers. She has no idea how she got her powers and for her to control them she needs to find out where they came from.
Hikuro is a ninja vampire warrior. A badass samurai vampire. He is one of the vampire king's closest friends.
Sam and Hikuro meet in Book 1- Dragon Heat. Right away there is a burning connection that neither of them truly understands. Can they work together? Will Sam push him away? You have to read to find out!
In this dark, sexy and delicious book there yummy vampires, fascinating dragons, a really cool panther, and a mysterious shifter, mix in a few slimy razbians and we get a unique series with lots of mystery, action, and intense emotion with smoking hot sex. That is what I call my kind of book! :)
Exciting with lots of twists and turns bringing us more into Ella's magical world. The ending was amazing! Ella's story telling is superb and I can't wait for Yara's story.
Favorite Quote:
"Life is so not a straight line, Sam thought as she felt the first signs of the teleporting free-fall envelop her. Life is more like a sequence of cycles. Childhood is one, teenage years another. You start green, thinking you are still in the last cycle; then things change, you crash, you cry, then you learn from that and you're ready to move on to the next phase. And if you're good to yourself, happiness will be sprinkled along the way."
Samantha "Sam" Austen barely has control of her powers yet knows that she wants nothing to do with Hikuro. Sam can't seem to control her reaction to Hikuro but that doesn't stop her from trying. Hikuro is a three hundred year old vampire that's unsure of his place within Sam's life. Sam is tracking down a lead but her powers go haywire. Hikuro rescues Sam yet unsure who is helping whom. Meanwhile Tadieh and Zoricah are struggling to understand their relationship. Tadieh thinks that Zoricah doesn't want him yet nothing could be further from the truth. Zoricah is trying to track down leads but is coming up empty. Will Sam admit her feelings? What is happening to Sam's powers? Can Hikuro break through Sam's defenses? Your answers await you in Vampire Thirst.
This action packed sequel doesn't leave you hanging like some books do. This creative and imaginative book captured my heart and attention. The characters are splendid my opinion wholly unique and compelling. Definitely looking forward to the next installment in this series.
Read as an arc copy for an homest review 5 stars. Utterly gripped by this sequel to Dragon Heat. Vampire Thirst is largely Hikura and Sam's journey, both characters fleetingly introduced in the first of the series, Dragon Heat. I loved the dynamic of these two characters in the first story, and Ella has excelled herself in this installment. Fast paced ninja action, relevant and completely gripping. I enjoyed the first novel, but this second installment completely surpassed my expectations and has me desperate to read the third and final book. The introduction of Rafe the wolf had me desperate to read more of him. Vampires, dragons, shifters and werewolves... Ella J Phoenix has totally converted me to the paranormal fantasy land she has believably created with this series.
Wow!!! This series gets better and better!!! I love the way the story continues on to the next book, and you find out more and more about the characters as romance and war blossoms all around them!!
We pick up where we left off after Dragon Heat with both the action and the romance. The conspiracy builds, and we see that insta-love doesn’t always go smoothly.
The missing dragon senator’s daughter was rescued by Zoricah and Tardieh and their friends in New York. Information found at the scene leads their investigation to Europe. Zoricah, Yara and Sam head to England to meet with an old informant, but with barely a word to Zoricah, Tardieh takes Hikuro and the others and heads to Spain to do his own investigating. Zoricah is torn between continuing the investigation and finding out why the man who only days before was profession undying love just walked out of her life without so much as a look back.
Hikuro shows up just in time for Zoricah’s townhouse in London is be blown up, adding to the question of how did someone find her safehouse and how big is this conspiracy? With Hikuro backing up Yara and Sam, it is now the perfect time for Z to head to Spain to see why Tardieh is suddenly giving her the cold shoulder.
In England, Sam is attacked and only makes an escape because Hikuro is following her. He comes to learn that Sam hasn’t been attacking Hikuro, she simply has little control over her energies. Sam was born a human but as a youth was brought to a psychiatric ward where strange experiments were being performed. Sam no longer ages and she emits electricity. Hikuro teleports Sam to his home to teach her how to focus and control her energies and also to keep her safe. It seems that someone wants to see exactly what makes Sam spark.
With Hikuro, Sam and Z all otherwise engaged, Yara is left alone in England and has picked up a stalker of her very own, a wolf shifter who has been blackmailed into killing the Vampire King and Yara is his best lead to track down the elusive Tardieh.
THOUGHTS: Now that the basic character introductions have been made and the world building laid out, we start focusing on the investigation and fleshing out our cast of characters, both good and bad. The second book was certainly more enjoyable and more exciting because of it.
This story was broken up in to two parts, one part focusing on Sam’s origins and the romance between Sam and Hikuro, and the other part going back to Zoricah and Tardieh.
As a simple human, Sam was subjected to electroshock therapy in the psychiatric ward sometime around WWII. Due to that treatment, it took years for Sam to even remember her name. This is a perfect explanation of why her past still comes to her in flashes, but she does remember more and more about the orphanage she grew up in and the doctor did experiments on her in the Ward. Hikuro and Sam had an instant attraction in Dragon Heat, but Hikuro was still pretty pissed and mistrusting of his own reaction to Sam after she zapped him at the club to get Tardieh’s attention. It takes awhile for him to work through his anger even though the buzz is still there between them. Once he realizes that Sam isn’t trying to attack him and hurt him, but that she simply can’t control the level of energy she expends, he works with her to focus her power, which also gives them alone time which works its way into sexy naked time.
Once things start to settle for Hikuro and Sam, we then switch over to Zoricah and Tardieh. At the end of Dragon Heat, Tardieh wants Zoricah to become his queen, but since Zoricah’s blood isn’t pooling in her genitalia, she knows that nobody is going to be wishing congratulations to the Vampire King for selecting a unacceptable, demi-goddess Dragon as his queen. Z want them to think about the consequences of their relationship, but in an all-or-nothing sulk, Tardieh goes off to do his own investigating since Zoricah “turned him down.” While this matter is not completely settled, they do agree that they want to be together.
Zoricah is not completely wrong in her belief that the vampire/dragon mating is going to make the others crazy. The wolf shifter is blackmailed to kill the Vampire King and of course, starts following Yara, figuring out where to find her. Once again, some aspects of the investigation are solved, but not everything. This will lead us into the beginning of book 3.
This story had at least 100 pages more than the Book 1 and really gave us time to spend with characters and with building the story plot as well as the romantic aspects. The next story features Yara and the wolf shifter and has 100 pages more than this one. We know all our main characters so I anticipate really being able to get into a juicy plot.
Received a review copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Samantha, one of the female trio, has been investigating the vampire kidnapping and killing people in the US. She has been with Zoricah, the dragon demigoddess, and Yara, the Brazilian witch, for years. Zoricah broke her out of a mental institution forty years ago and they have been together ever since. Zoricah, Yara, and Sam found and killed the vampire serial killer with the help of the Vampire King and his men. However, the evidence pointed to the fact that the vampire had help. So they are back on the case looking for any accomplices that were involved. The girls head to England where Sam is from and she isn’t very happy to be back. Her past dogs her at every turn while she is here. In fact, Sam thinks she sees her old doctor from the mental institution and follows the man to the orphanage she grew up in. She has a panic attack and loses control of her power. She is afraid of losing complete control and hurting someone. Hikuro is the second in command for the vampire king. He was sent by his king to help in the investigation. He is annoyed with Sam as she invokes feelings in him that he doesn’t want. He is attracted to her but she pushes him away. He, in turn, acts cold and distant to her to hide his attraction. She pushes him away for fear that she will lose control of her powers and kill him. Yet neither will admit to their true feelings. When Hikura joins Sam in the investigation, his protective side surfaces as he protects her. He is determined to keep her safe from her past and those they pursue. Sam learns that she may be the key to the whole case. She has to confront her past and find out who she is. The nightmares she has are more than dreams. They are memories that she must face in order to save lives. She knows what she must do and knows that if she finds trouble Hikuro will come for her. This is the second book in the series and I did not read the first one. With that said I will most definitely go back and rectify that. I really liked this story. I liked that Sam had to face her demons and the danger that she causes to others and herself. The fact that the cold ninja, Hikuro, is the one that ends up helping her is very fitting. I like the two together as they are opposites of each other but compliment each other well. The author also revisited the main characters from the first book and gave them their own sub storyline in this one. I like when authors keep past characters very much in the story. Readers invest in those characters and want to continue seeing them. Well done in that part of the story. There was also a lot of mystery surrounding Samantha’s past and action when finding the answers. It kept me reading wanting to know what happens next. I can’t wait to read Yara’s story.
This is the second book in Phoenix's Dragon Heat series, and continues where book one left off: Zoricah and her team and Tardieh and his men separate in order to track down leads to Yerik's experimental facilities. Zoricah and Tardieh are at odds because she asked for time before accepting his marriage proposal- he feels she has rejected him and is very upset by that, and she feels that a marriage to her would cause a war. Sam and Hikuro are hiding their attraction to one another behind hostility.
As the book begins, Hikuro arrives in England to give a report from Tardieh to Zoricah just as her house gets attacked. This makes Zoricah fly to Spain, going to Tardieh for help, while Hikuro stays with Yara and Sam. And oh, Hikuro.... That vampire intrigues me so much he's almost real! He's so mysterious and hot I could eat him up!
Events take place that have Sam and Hikuro facing their feelings for each other. And. It. Is. Hot. After reading the first book I really wanted more of those two, and Ms. Phoenix did not disappoint me! Without giving too much away, things heat up between them and new events take place between them that have Hikuro seeing things in a different light.... (I could have a whole book about those two!)
When Zoricah reaches Tardieh she is faced with mixed emotions and the group soon finds a lead they had been waiting for. Tardieh's alpha male comes out to meet Z's dominant dragon and things get hawt! Decisions are made about their relationship, and let me say Tardieh knows how to get his point across...
They all regroup together in England to follow a lead, and things explode bringing new information to light that will leave you with so many questions! Sam's past may be the key, but what does she even remember?
I really enjoyed this book and was left wanting to know more. I kept trying to turn the page but there wasn't another page to turn! Well played, Ms. Phoenix.
So if you like dragons, vampires, mystery, and hot romance this book is for you. :)
I received Vampire Thirst in exchange for a fair and honest review.
In Dragon Heat the stage was set, in Vampire Thirst, Ella J. Phoenix found her voice. Don’t get me wrong, I really liked the first book, but as is true of most first books in a series, the story kind of gets lost in the set up. Zoricah and Tardieh were a great couple and their story continues in Vampire Thirst, but I loved Sam and Hikuro from the moment they were introduced. There was always something dangerous and mysterious about their draw to each other. I knew that their story was going to be intense and I wasn’t wrong.
There was a lot more to Sam than was on the surface. She had a lot of inner turmoil, timidness and doubt. She did a really good job of hiding it though. So good Hikuro pegged her as devious and therefore a danger. What he didn’t know was that she was protecting him and everyone else from a danger she couldn’t control and didn’t understand. Readers got a lot of Sam’s history in Vampire Thirst and it explained a lot. It also made me like her even more.
There was a lot more to Hikuro than the arrogant vampire let others see as well. His feelings and attraction toward Sam took him by surprise. His patience and acceptance of her was what really won me over though. That along with the smart wit, determination and protectiveness of both these characters turned their story into a real page turner.
A lot took place in Vampire Thirst beyond Sam and Hirkuro’s story. It was all interwoven with different POVs. Some mysteries were solved, more politics were thrown in and a few more devious characters were introduced. Some were surprising, while others were expected. There are still a few more mysteries to be solved and the set up for the next book, which looks like it will involve Yara, should prove to be extremely interesting.
In this exhilarating sequel, our heroes and heroines continue the search for an elusive killer. Packed full of action, mystery, and fiery passion, Phoenix has delivered yet another stunning success.
Sam's life changed the moment Hikuro, the vampire king's second in command, walked up to her. Not only does he bring out every insecure thought she possesses, he makes her lose control of her senses and emotions. To top it off, her powers have taken a mind of their own and start getting worse as ghosts from her past surface. The mission in her hometown of London proves to be difficult for her as she struggles to find answers and calm the powers within her.
Hikuro is normally a rational, decisive vampire that's a force to be reckoned with. Now, he's unsure, edgy, jealous, and very possessive of Sam. He wants to believe she has a hidden agenda but his heart tells him differently. His concern for her deepens as he watches her powers slip further out of control. Since battle is Yara's expertise and Zoricah is chasing a lead in Spain with Tardieh, he contemplates taking matters into his own hands.
From the first page, I was pulled into the story and happily held captive until the end! The writing style is both engaging and entertaining. As with the first novel, the romantic scenes were in depth and extremely heated. I stayed glued to the pages as the tension and suspense neared a boiling point, and then was rewarded with satisfying conclusions. There are several stories intertwined to make this book a whole but the author blends them together beautifully. I look forward to next one!
This series picks up where book 1 left off. You must read these in order. This is Sam and Hikuro's story at the beginning.
I enjoyed this book. The world building continues and it is done very well. I appreciated the quick review of the last book from Sam's point of view at the beginning. I also liked that her back story is also begun. More of the back stories of these characters come through during this book. I loved that the book is done in three parts so I did not have to go back and forth between stories. The first part is Sam and Hikuro. The second part is Zoricah and Tardieh and what they are doing to find the guilty parties to the kidnappings as well as where their relationship is at that point. The final part is both story lines coming together. There are still loose ends that need to be closed but there are more books coming. I look forward to reading them.
These characters are good characters. Some are of the same species but others come from different species. They have to learn to work together. Their communication skills needs a lot of work. All the characters have prejudices but they are finding their preconceived ideas are not necessarily true.
The story arc moves along at a good pace. There are several story lines with each of the couples and a main story arc about the kidnappings and experiments which carries over into this book. Another story line starts in this book but I am starting to see how it may fit in to the overall arc of the books. Looking forward to sitting down and reading book 3.
Book 2 of the Dragon Heat Series met all my expectations and much more. All the amazing characters from Book 1: Dragon Heat were there and the incredible mythical world that Ms. Phoenix created for them intrigued me page after page. Sensual vampires, a Draco demigoddess, a Brazilian shifter witch, the Gods of life and death and now werewolves were added to the mix. A new character was introduced deliciously, a new Mr. Hottie for the long list that roam this book, Rafe. From afar, he is watching every move of the Vampire King while being intrigued by the sensual olive skin panther witch, Yara. Most of the book unraveled the mystery around Sam, one of Zoricah's (Draco/Demigodess) warriors. Sam is a human that after suffering under the hand a mad doctor that dealt with human experiments, has the power of releasing energy and ages slowly, just like vampires. Sam's road of self discovery and transformation is beautifully detailed in the book, letting me explore a magnificent story of survival and inner strength. Of course the luscious Asian vampire Hikuro plays a major part of her journey. These two give a new meaning to a love story. It is romantic, steamy and simply beautiful. The result of their encounter left me with a raging curiosity and I cannot wait to sniff my way around book 3: Wolf Hunger. This series has it all: action, plot and sexy encounters. What are you waiting for? Get it today!
Asked for honest opinion by author..CONTAINS SPOILERS..I am so happy for Hikuro and Sam also for the demigoddess and the vampire king. From the first encounter between Sam and Hikuro I knew that they would have their own story to tell, they have such fire between them both. Hikuro is a stone faced warrior with Asian background and royalty, Sam is a shy young (in immortal years) woman who is still learning how to channel her electric touch. They finally let the stubborn part of them down and fall for each other Hikuro helps Sam focus on her powers but in turn she gives him the ability to walk in the day...still wondering how that came about...the book takes you back to the demigoddess and the vampire king and how they deal with their love issues and if they can move on even when they know there will be issues with their union on both sides. Now bring in Yara the panther and her appetite for sex clubs she is feisty and now she has caught the scent of a wolf that has been given the job to kill them, but can he? I can't wait for Yara's book with a feisty painter and a alpha male oh this should be good..we did get a sneak peek as to what we should expect. I am in love with these characters and hope each one gets their own story to tell!!
I really enjoyed book one in this series Dragon Heat, but book two Vampire Thirst, was a different story. The author entwined several stories in this book and I found this too confusing for me to handle. The book started out just like a regular romance between a couple, Hikuro and Sam. Their story and romance was really taking off when all of a sudden the chapters changed to chapter one of another couple in the series and you start reading their story and their romance takes over at this point. This goes on for 79 percent of the book, then all of a sudden the chapters change back again and takes you back to chapter one to Hikuro and Sam. I felt like I was missing way too much info by the author by splitting them up in such a way. As a romance reader I have never encountered a romance book written this way and to tell you the truth I hope never will again. It’s just way too confusing to some readers. The sad part was I really liked Sam and I really wanted to know what happened to her in the past, but with the confusion I just couldn’t enjoy the mystery that surrounded her and her dreams. Copy was provided by author for an honest review.
Here are a few things other people have said about my novels.

“It’s dark, ballsy and super sexy - hot, hot, hot! ” (avidreader52, Amazon.com reviewer)
I found this to be as interesting read as book one. I did find some parts to be confusing and I do have to admit this isn’t my genre. With that said it was an enjoyable read for me it is a book you have to have the time to really forces on. With this book the author lost me and I lost interest. However for those that there is a lot of passion between Sam and Hikuro. Sam is a mess in more ways than one, I don’t mean that in a bad way at all, I guess I should say she is a hot mess. Sam is a shy woman who is still learning how to channel her electric touch. She doesn’t remember her past due to things out of her control. Once she finds her way she is something else.
I did not how ever enjoy this as much as I did the first book. I am sure if you are into Paranormal you will enjoy it more then I. I has a different twist then the normal vampire reads for me is was just a little to much. But for those of you who enjoy this type of book you will love it as a lot of other reads have.
Jump into a paranormal world of intrigue, action and romance that has vampires, dragons, werewolves, witches, goddesses and with evil experiments to create a super race to rule the world there is plenty to keep a reader entertained. I was engrossed in the book from the very beginning and I must say that I like the way the author began this book, by giving a brief glimpse of where the characters ended that previous story and I also like how the author mapped out her story of the team splitting in half for part of the book. And the ending sets up the next book nicely, what a tease, I’ll be waiting impatiently for that next book, huh.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This is the second book of the Dragon Heat series. The drama between Zoricah and Tardieh continues as new romances begin, and the characters start to unravel the mysteries surrounding who is abducting and killing the supes and why. We also get a deeper look at Sam's back story and see her start to mature. As I stated in my review of the first book, the storyline tends toward the romantic formula involving many misunderstandings between the individuals who are trending toward becoming couples. That said, the story arc (both romantic and otherwise) continues to develop in the second installment. This novel holds up well, maintaining the style and tone of the first in the series.
First of all Disclaimer, I received a free copy of this book in exchange of an honest review!
So there isn't much to say. It was once again beautifully written and really enjoyable though it took me more time to get into this story than the first one which is why I gave it a slightly lower note. But overall I can't wait to read the next one. I was slightly dissapointed that we didn't get to see much of the first two characters that were previously presented in the first book. (personal fav's) But still Hikuro's backround story and all of their romance was good !
After reading Dragon Heat I couldn't wait to read this. Lucky for me Vampire Thirst was gifted to me and I could start it as soon as I finished Dragon Heat. I'm becoming a big fan of Ella J Phoenix and the Dragon Heat series. Who knew dragons, vampires and witches, oh my, would make such a great read. While Dragon Heat and Vampire Thirst are part of a series, they could be read as a stand alone. I hate a cliff hanger, and while this story is picked up from the first book, there is a satisfactory ending. You don't have to read the next book in the series...but if you're like me, you'll want to read it.
This book takes place in London, where the girls are looking for new clues to the where about of their enemy and the enemy of every dragon and vampire alive, a group of evil medical scientists taking vampires, dragons, razbiens and humans for their experiments, torturing and killing them. Zoricah and Tardieh have been a bit of a tussel for the last few weeks and now Sam must figure out how to get information without Zoricah by going through Phillip the snake and despise of every race. If it up to Hikuro one of Tardiehs main men Sam will do no putting herself in danger.
Follow up book to Dragon Heat is just as steamy. That is the only word I can think of while reading about the on going adventures of Vampire King Tardieh and his love the Dragon Demi-Goddes Zoricah and their friends and companions. Great action enhances the stories and makes for a supremely enjoyable read. Just make sure have some privacy when you read it, your're gonna need it. Can not wait for the next installment!!!!
