The Disavowed #1

The Razor's Edge

Rate this book
Trent, Silk and Radford are the Razor's Edge and the best spy team in the business - until the government they toiled, served and bled for, disavowed them.

Today, rejected and left to their own devices, they work on the fringes, helping good people who find themselves in bad situations.

Monika Sobieski is abducted at gunpoint in front of her eight-year-old son and The Razor's Edge are called in. It will take all their skills and courage to find her, and the hunt pushes each of them further than they are prepared to go. Refusing to give up on the young mother, they are eventually thrown into a vicious confrontation with Oleg Roth, an ex MMA champion, now head of the brutal Polish mob.

Join Trent, Silk and Radford as they 'finesse' their way through the decadent underbelly of Las Vegas, and infiltrate Roth's horrifying secret world. Fight alongside them as they champion the vulnerable and wage war against the criminal elite.

Having read and thoroughly enjoyed all of the authors other books I was eagerly looking forward to reading his latest book. A new series that is a departure from the Matt Drake books, but still has action, adventure and intrigue in abundance. Once I started this I was unable to put it down.

This book introduces a new set of characters and gives hints at back stories that will no doubt be expanded upon in future books. A strong story with characters you quickly get invested in, can't wait to read the next in the series and learn more about The Razor's Edge.

If you want fast, exciting, action packed stories with a great cast of characters and lots of banter, this series is for you!
At the time of writing this review there have been 28 Matt Drake books and 16 related spin-offs! More than enough to keep you entertained for some time!
The first spin-off and a new cast of characters to get to know.
Not as full-on as the main series, but bloody good all the same!

Love this author's other works and this one does not disappoint. New characters, but if a slow start but I felt I got to know the characters background before the action really began. Looking forward to reading more about The disaviwed

An enjoyable thriller with good action scenes and an element of intrigue. The characters are interesting because of their flaws rather than despite them and the story kicks along at a good pace. I’ll definitely look at trying others in the series.

Another cracking good read

If you like Matt Drake you will like this too, although set in the USA with American characters it is every bit as good as the previous books

Ok start

An ok start to a new series. More family drama then I typically look for in an action series. It doesn't override the action but comes close.

My review of Razor's Edge by David Leadbeater ( part of The Hot Box Set)
This is the first book I've read by this author, I will be reading more! Awesome!
Trent, Silk and Radford worked for the government, until it turned on them and they don't see why. It's not stopping them from doing what they do best, bringing people down. When Monika Sobieski is kidnapped from NetherWorld ( A nightclub she works at) the Razor Edge is called in to help. Anna, Monika's friend and coworker seen it all happen. They are working at the club to get enough money to leave Las Vegas behind and start a new life with their children. The police don't care about "women" like them. Can the razor's Edge bring down the MMA fighter that brought this all on. Read this book to find out.

Wow what a great start to a new series. I've read all the Matt Drake books ,and can't wait for more, so I dived into this with great anticipation and was not disappointed.. This looks like it will be as good as them. An interesting set of characters great plot line with plenty of twists and turns. There looks like there is plenty of scope for more revelations of The Razors Edge. Fully recommended. Great work David.

Razor Sharp

I was surprised by this book. I quite like it. Not what I'd normally select, but I'm getting ready to read the next Matt Drake book Pandora in which Leadbeater brings together Matt Drake's team, Alicia Myle's team and the Razor's Edge team for what I expect to be a blockbuster. Two more Razor's Edge books to read yet. Happy to find this team different than Drake's and very exciting.
