From New York Times bestselling author Mariah Stewart comes a novel of sexy romantic suspense for fans of Nora Roberts, Catherine Coulter, and Karen Robards.
BLOODLINE
Dina McDermott is on top of the world. Attractive and independent at thirty, she runs her own business, funded by a generous inheritance. But an explosive chain of events will soon be set into motion—and her perfect life will spin out of control.
A journalist with a fearless instinct, Simon Keller believes he’s struck gold when he unearths an unsettling story about former president Graham Hayward, one that started with a secret affair and ended in tragedy. The trail leads Simon to Dina McDermott’s front door—and threatens to expose a parentage that would rock the political world. Shaken to her core by a shattering truth, Dina is suddenly thrust into the crosshairs of a cold-blooded killer—and on the run of her life.

There were parts of this book that were interesting but by and large it was not. Imlausible story of birth of daughter to the President and young beauty. Solving the mystery that surronds the death of Mom is the plot. Ho hum. Detail about Dina was good, she was believable. Simon, the narrator, less believable as were others. Many better books to read.
The heroine was interesting but a little too perfect. The hero fell in love with her looks, first sight. I did enjoy that she restored gardens. I think I'd have like to see her actually working on an history garden and giving a little history.
The hero was interesting too, but I would have liked to see more passion from him (grief when Miles died), more grit as he was a journalist.
I did like the bad 'guy's' perspective, in secret.
I liked Jude.
I think the best conflict was between Betsy and Jude.

This was my first Mariah Stewart book. After Nora Roberts, Kay Hooper, whose books i loved, I feel that Mariah Stewart books would be of the genre that i love. Detective, serial killers.. So excited to read her others book..!!
Good read. Did not know if I felt like a mystery romance. I almost put the book down but again glad I finished it. This was the first book I read by this author. Great story and good characters. I’m glad how she did not have somebody being murdered at every scene. She kept a good flow to the book.
I love a good mystery. this was a real good one. I had less tnan 76 pages left when I figured outt who did the deed. the writer had a lot of interesting facts about different. things that kept you intersted. she led you down the primrose path just to end it in a blackberry patch. she directed you then redirected and then did it again. great read. ps facts and location directions matched very well. I was raised in easter virginia, maryland area. m
I enjoyed this story about a straight-arrow president who has a daughter born to his beloved mistress. A reporter is asked to write a biography of the deceased president because his son is going to be running for president. The reporter discovers that the mistress was murdered 30 years ago, and the killer was never found. He senses a story that will make his career when he reveals the truth about "Mr. Straight-arrow". Then he meets the daughter and everything changes.
There were times when you have to remember it was it 2002 because cellphones are scarce, GPS was not a thing so that added a cute layer to the book. Really good political thriller with a romance element to it. Reminded me of James Patterson, David Baldacci, James Rollins books.
A young woman, Blythe, is killed in a hit and run accident, run over twice. She was known in high circles as the friend of the POTUS's Chief of Staff. But she was really the mistress of the President. Thirty years later, a story emerges of a young lady, Blythe's friend, and a reporter who is searching for the truth. Captivating read.
;) Oleksin soovinud natukegi teravust. Mõnda „pahat poissi“ või „ilget mõrda“.
A former newspaper journalist turned hopeful author agrees to write a book about a former president. Amidst the details of this well loved and respected man's life, Simon finds scandal, affairs, and murder. As he uncovers the story of his career, he has to decide if it's work the cost to publish it.
I am an avid reader, but don't do reviews but really liked how the whole story line from start to finish covered such different scenarios before it blended held my interest to the end that I didn't cheat
Oof. Dullsville. I was feeling it in the beginning, as I wanted a generic thriller to read, but this was perhaps too generic. I didn't end up finishing it, and I was bored to death by the romance. You know, a little subtlety goes a long way.
