Britta Teckentrup was born in Germany and moved to England in 1988. She is the author and illustrator of many books for children. She now lives in Berlin with her husband and young son.

Sweet interactive book about the one that stand out. Memories of Sesame Street and "Which one doesn't belong". Pictures can be a bit dizzying.

Oh this is funny, Squirt is one of those kids who refuses to be tested. So when I tell him to look for the one that's different, he finds it, but won't show me, tries to hide it, or even tells me he can't find it (but when I try to turn the page he quickly points to it)! What is thatabout?!! Makes me laugh, anyway.

This was the favorite of the books I read to Alena today. I like that it's not just a "spot the difference" book but also has descriptive rhymes. The illustrations are simple and the differences appropriately challenging. Alena enjoyed my happy moments of discovery.

I loved this spotting book. Wow did I ever find some pages hard, but many pages my little Zander who is 4 could do with the hint each page gave. Funny how it's so hard to see things and then once you see them you can always see them. It's a perfect book to talk about how not everything is always what you think.

The Odd One Out is a rhyming picture book that interactive. This book talks about each animal and rhymes what they look like. They then say something to to go and find what on the other page what they are talking about.

I like this book because the pictures are great, but also its interactive. Students or kids can read about the animals, like it's a song and look for the object that the author wrote about.

I would use this in my classroom because kids could take a break from school work, and try to find all the objects the author is talking about on the pages. This also would be a great tool for teaching poetry to kids while having fun.

A fun book to read one-on-one. It wouldn't work for a group storytime. Rhyming text is paired with illustrations of colorful animal patterns, reminiscent of wallpaper. Some of the odd ones out are easy to spot, while others take more work. Just the right amount of difficulty. The lemur page was the hardest for me!

This series is a great quick dip-in for kids. I've found it works well for around ages 5-8 who need that 1-2 minute break with something to focus their attention for emotional regulation. Other than that, kids just really enjoy search-and-find.
