So I started out the first of this book like this : OH WOW this book is HOT and AWESOME! Loved it!
I ended it like this: That was f**king dumb.
Why? Because these characters went from adults to adolescents in 2.5 seconds flat. I could not, COULD NOT believe how the "hero" Mark behaved in this book. Then that stupid b*tch sister came in and I wanted to strangle her and him both. Here he is "planning his future with our heroine Sophie" but doing it all behind her back, sneaking around with the sister, thinking how hot the sister is, not telling anyone what he's doing or that the girl he's with is the older sister. Nope, keeping it all a secret. The sister is even like "Oh by the way I'm moving in cause I say so". So when word gets around that he's running around town with another woman, and Sophie gets upset, both Mark and the sister Layla blame Sophie for acting so angry about it when OBVIOUSLY it was a surprise. I mean DUH, why would she take him sneaking around and lying to her negatively? Ugh. The author just about degraded Sophie to me. I could not believe that she would come back basically on her knees to get poor, abused, hurt Mark to forgive her. I mean, why would you write that, this is not a strong heroine or a good hero? I don't get how anyone would think this ending was acceptable. If you want a HEA, I can't tell you that's what you'll get with this book. I didn't see that. I saw a divorce in about 2 months and possibly a visit with Jerry Springer between the crazy dumb sister and the weak hero and heroine. 1 star for cover alone.

Oh jeez... This will probably not be pretty... Just sayin.

★: HOT Cover
★: HOT Sex
★: ....... (I'm not really sure what this one is for)

*There may be some spoilers*
I have some pretty mixed emotions where this book is concerned. First let me say, I really hate writing negative reviews. I feel like authors pour their hearts into their books and we as readers reap the rewards. I love to read and I love to find new books. I do understand that debuts are generally not always perfect, it is the first time around and we learn as we go and all. But sometimes a book just doesn't do it for me. (That's me trying to put it nicely) Such is the case here. Which really disappointed me because I was looking forward to this one. There is a super hot cover. There is super hot sex. There are some pretty decent supporting characters. The story line was one that sounds very promising but kinda falls down somewhere along the way. I have a feeling that point was when Mark and Sophie hit their "troubles". Please bare with me as my thoughts are still a jumbled mess from this book. Since I've pretty much already listed my likes, here are my dislikes. (I'll be channeling my friend Lindsay's Irritable Acts Code here)

Layla's introduction: Where the hell did she come from and how is it her and Mark are instant bff's? Hugging all up on each other the instant they meet? Um, inappropriate much!?! (She's Sophie's sister, btw) I get he wanted to have the one person that meant everything to Sophie there to help him pick out a house and ring.... But shouldn't that be Sophie's job? And did he have to get so physical with her? And how's that instant friendship so strong that when shit hits the fan Mark and Layla turn on Sophie? Hmmmm???

Sophie: Come ON girl!!! Really?!! You date a guy for four years and catch him cheating on you. THEN, you meet the ultimate bachelor who has straight up admitted he doesn't do relationships, or the same girl twice for that matter. But instead of treading that water cautiously (as her inner monologue started out doing) She jumps in the water, literally, and tries to do him in full view of all their friends! *Insert Gibbs Head Slap* And when Caleb brings the topic of Mark with another woman (Layla) up, instead of confronting his supposed cheating ass, she runs and hides. Granted, I probably woulda done the same thing, but then when it all comes out and she's the one apologizing, I just got pissed. How was it Sophie's fault that she believed her friend that her boyfriend had another woman over? HE DID! Even though it turned out to be harmless (ish, imo) the fact that Mark and Layla completely blew Sophie off rather than try to see it from her pov, was awful. *Insert Red Foreman* This was the time when I seriously considered DNF'ing because off all the stupidity going on. But I was somewhat intrigued as to how things would end so I forged ahead. Maybe not my smartest move, but I never claimed to be a genius. Moving along. So everyone gets pissed because Caleb assumes Mark is cheating on Sophie and he brings it up at Molly's wedding. No one stops to think of How it actually looks to find a random chick in Mark's apartment, after seeing him on the street in front of a jewelry store with the same random chick while engaging in what looks like flirting - WHILE HE HAS A GIRLFRIEND!!! Not to mention he outright lies to Sophie saying he'll be busy at work all week, then when Caleb calls his office on speakerphone the secretary says he's out all week. THEN when Caleb and Sophie call his cell, he says he's at work but there is a distinct feminine voice in the background. How exactly does that not all add up to look like HE'S CHEATING!!! Omg I need to quit before I get riled up. So yeah, then of course we have Sophie all grovelling and taking the entire blame for the breakup even though, I felt, with all the evidence supporting the cheating claim, she was justified in thinking the worst. Blah Blah Blah she faints at work and whadaya know, she's pregnant! *Insert Fake Shocked Gasp* Of course things get better from there. Mark pulls his head out of his ass and 'forgives' her and blah blah blah they live happily ever after.

2.5 weird stars. I started off really liking this book and than it was so freaking weird!!! I can't express my issues without giving away spoilers so sorry but ***********spoilers!!**********

Issues:
The H invites the h sister Layla to surprise the h but doesn't tell her. Sounds sweet right.....wrong! So she comes and stays with the H that she never met before and he has her staying with him for 5 days without the h knowing she's there?? Well the h finds out prior because the H took off work for the week so he and the h sister could pick out an engagement ring and house for him and the h and she finds out that he's running around town with some hot chick and they are holding hands and shit.! I won't get into the fact that this is only days after turning from lifetime male whore to saying I love you. You would think he would have taken off time to spend with his new love right? Any way the H takes the sister all over town on his Ducati and makes the remark about her being so hot and than get this...... They get matching tattoos?? WTF and after they decide on the house that's perfect for the h and H the sister says she is going to move in with them. So shit happens and the h and H break up and the sister still moves in with the H and the h isn't even aware of it!!! Yup I said it was weird. Then if the surprise would have worked out the h and her sister would have only spent almost 1 day together since she wouldn't have seen her until this wedding the H sister was having. Uhm why is the sister spending more time with the H than the h?? So anyway the h and H get back together and she still doesn't move in right away but the only reason they got back together was because she got knocked up. Crazy! This could have been really good but the author took family bonding to a whole new level!!!

I cannot remember reading a more frustrating book.

I started off well, but totally detailed. I initially liked Mark - but then he pulled his insane 5 day "I'm going to ignore and lie to my girlfriend to set up a stupid surprise and then I'm going to be irrationally pissed when it backfires" thing. I just could not get past it. That along with the very weird feeling relationship he has with Sophie's sister (despite all his "little sis" comments - all the weird flirty banter was not appropriate) just pushed him right off my "hero" list.

And don't get me started on Sophie's sister. I HATED her with a passion - which I assume wasn't the desired reaction since she is the heroine in the next book.

Ugh. I don't think the next book is going to make it to my TBR list (even though I like Ryan) because I dislike Layla so freaking much.

Overall I wanted to like this so much - but between insta love and Marks insanely stupid behavior - it totally missed the mark for me.

What?! W..T..F..

This book had such HUGE potential, I was getting into it and was feeling really good about it... I have read nothing but crap lately and I was so excited to finally find something good then, BAM!! It starts turning corny and the writing was getting extremely confusing, I had to back track a few times to realize who was saying what.

I am a person who comes from a very close family, we are always hugging telling each other "I Love you" but Mark and Molly's relationship towards the beginning of the book was a bit too close for me. There were a few things that were said from Mark that I thought there was a typo and instead of someone else's name it said Molly.

Sophie and Layla reminded me of another pair of sisters from another book. We have the shy one that gets the bad boy that will never settle down, then we have Layla the over bubbly, extremely confident "sexy" sister who will eventually end up with the other playboy.

I could get into so much more with this book as in the weird/sneaky/instant relationship between Layla and Mark. The tattoos that were mentioned but not really mentioned? I feel like I was missing something there.

If I had a dollar for every book I've read with this same plot I would be forever rich. I'm not trying to be mean but if you want to be an author dig deep, think of something original. I feel as though this was 4 different books that I have read already combined and it flopped for me big time.

There are a lot of POVs in this book. It's a lot to follow sometimes but it wasn't a deal breaker. Okay, so ANYONE would have thought the same thing about Mark if they had the evident she was presented. He was hard on her. I feel like her sister, Layla was too much. It was not appropriate for him to be going around with Layla behind Sophie's back, even if it was to pick a house for her. Because is not suspicious at all when you don't talk to your girlfriend for a week. No, not at all. It just seemed that Layla and Mark were too close. It put me off. I know it was completely platonic but it felt off.
It all ends well, it a HEA and all but it wasn't a 5 star for me, it was written well, but the storyline just had some twitches for me. Just my opinion.

I really was completely frustrated with this, it started out fairly promising and I was indeed enjoying it until I hit the 60% marker and then bam what happened next completely threw my outlook and my perception of this romance. I actually no longer felt it was viable, romantic or believable after what Mark did the week before the wedding and to top it all it was then all brushed aside and Sophie kinda took the blame for how things panned out. Well I am sorry I just did not get how Mark could be so secretative and do all the things he did leading up to the rehearsal and not expect any kind of repercussions and I have to say if my boyfriend decided to go house hunting with another woman no matter who she was and me expect to be elated that 'they' chose the house I would be living in then well I would bash him over the head!

I also really didn't like Layla, what kind of sister speaks to her younger sibling like she did when all hell broke loose at the rehearsal? Yes maybe Sophie jumped to conclusions but actually after what she had been through she did a right to be a bit suspicious and the fact that Mark had been a confirmed manwhore. I found Layla totally selfish, happily agreeing to have done all she did (I'm trying to be elusive so I don't wreck it for anybody else), and even later on in the book when she was explaining that she had only spoken to her sister twice since the rehearsal and then followed it with blah, blah, blah I wanted to strangle her! She did not come across as a nice person at all in my eyes. the whole sitation at the reheasal I think was not delivered well at all. I also really struggled with the massively instant relationship between Layla and Mark. Let's face it Mark and Sophie had only just met on the holiday and the next thing we know Mark is making a secretative phone call using words like 'date' and love you, love you, love you - absolutely totally off the wall strange, because this phone call is to a person he's never met before!

I'm sorry but I didn't find this book a romance after 60%, there were loads of scenarios that didn't add up to a viable story after that and for that reason my rating had to drop to 2 stars from what started as three. The characters became less likable from then to me the whole tempo of the story changed and in my eyes it did not change for the better.

I too wonder what I read compared to everybody else, because after all the books I've consumed if only counting the past year this book falls short and doesn't have the depth and likeability of some characters.

Insult to your intelligence!! (and thats being kind)

Holy HELLLLLLLL.

sex on a stick my ass.....more like shit on a stick. GAH.

This book, and I say that LIGHTLY, is a total insult to your intelligence, and SERIOUS insult to women, and men for that matter.

I was excited to start this. I bought all 4 books in the series........ I WONT BE FINISHING this one, let alone the others.

Now don't get me wrong, I don't mind some angst in a story.....keeps you on your toes. But this .....was beyond ridiculous.

I'm shocked. disgusted. frustrated, thoroughly pissed offf......I had a difficult time with the speed of this "love story" BUT THEN, GOD ......the total LACK OF COMMUNICATION. HIDING (her sister for 5 days......DUH!!!!!!!) and then said "hot" sister getting pissed off at her sister, for asking "why are you here Layla".......ANSWER LIKE A DAMN MATURE ADULT! and the "hero" HA, what a joke..........storms off. OMG like he has ANY right to get pissed off. Is this how it is going to be in your future relationship. WHEN he knows that she was cheated on in a previous relationship. You DON'T make that worse. You love someone, you hold their heart in the palm of your hand, that does NOT give you the right to disregard it......for anything!

that was IT for me. I deleted them all.......

do not waste your time, or pennies......donate them to the homeless!

sorry I like the TRUTH when I read a review, not sunshine blown up an author's ass.
You can take this for ....nothing or something. (and avoid this book!!!)

Just goes to show, just because you can type words, DOES NOT mean you are an author! Yes, the brutal truth!

What caught my attention to this book was the cover of course. I started chatting with the author and loved her instantly so I decided last night to pick up the book and read it. I finished it in a few hours it was such an easy nice read. I really enjoyed Mark and watching him grow throughout the story. At times I wanted to punch Caleb in the face for being a prick and I am sure I am not the only one. I read some reviews where they said Soph didn't have a spin or couldn't understand why she would go back to him blah blah blah...Im sorry but if you caught your fiance cheating you would be hard hearted as well and not trusting of men. I can understand how Sophie got upset when she was told the news however she should have talked to Mark but then there wouldn't be a juicy story. I really loved most of the secondary characters as well Ryan cracked me up and can't wait to see if he gets a story.

M.J. you picked a great muse for this book I could defiantly see Alex throughout the story as Mark...i've only been following him for a short time on Facebook but you can see that he has a big heart and really appreciates his fans. Its unmistakable the dedication to what he does and loves his family and friends...I could see that in Marks character as well. He was loyal to his sister and friends to a fault and the way he loved Sophie is something we all hope to experience one day. wonderful story can't wait to read more!! Thank you for bringing Mark into the book world!!!

What the fuck! the book started off good! but seriously. spoilers ahead!! So all of a sudden he apparently called her sister during the short trip ( who he never met) telling her i love you, thank you for coming. Then back to our main characters.. He doenst tell her anything (about the arrangemnet with the sister) as a surprise. But takes the sister all over town, holds her hands, buys gifts for her en goes house hunting with the sis. SERIOUSLY!!! That is such a stupid move. He hasnt even taken sophie to go shopping. And why didnt he take sohpy to go househunting for them!!??!>!>! What the fuck!

So yeah after i read that part. i sjust skipped through the rest because that is absolute crap! And no man shoudl ever pull that move. Cus is stupid and causes misunderstandings!!! OHH and she has to do the groveling .. again he doenst tell her that her sister is going to live with him.. i mean hello.. that never happens in real life!!!

3 stars

it took me awhile to finish this novel, why? I don't remember, I probably got bored and read some other and then remembered that I still haven't finished it so I did. The plot is pretty interesting that's why I decided to read it amongst the long list of novels that I'm supposed to read. This got my attention because of it's plot, but little by little, it kind of reach a point where the story became...so so, so I stopped and continued and thankfully, it got better! so 3 stars!

I loved this

Mark was a playboy with a rep and it took one girl his sisters best friend sophie to change that.

I love these sort of story's. would of liked more on marks past and playboy ways for the bigger picture though.

Looking forward to the other books.

review to come

***
I promised a review. I rarely give a book 2 stars and I have to say why i did it.
First of all: the beginning was nice, the author created a great atmosphere, i understood who the characters were and what their role was.
After the first sex scene i was: what?! I mean, the heroine is a shy, somehow wallflower kind of girl. To put it out like that was disconcerting.
Then, we have Caleb, the hero's best friend (he has a story also). The way he kept begging for scraps of love from the heroine was a little pathetic. I didn't read his story on that account. (isn't that awful?)
Again we have over the top drama, men cry like children and feelings are all over the place. The playboy man falls in love in under 80 pages.
Don;t get me wrong, it can happen, but the way he expresses his feelings didn't seat well with me.
And the last part, the part where the sister intervenes had me all angry.
I read the reviews, I was warned, but still...i wanted a little more spunk from the heroine.

So, that is why, this book gets only 2 stars. It was likeable, it was ok, but not something i would re-read, or even recommend. Unless you love a weak heroine and a man who can cry all the time.

With a cover like this how could I not read this bookie. Mark he's a good man, he cares about his sister, "I need you to answer a serious question baby. Are you sure you want to marry this putz?" Another smack. "I really think you could do better. I mean seriously, look at this dump. They haven't kept is up at all over the years." He's a jealous type man when it comes to Sophie, "the thought of someone touching Sophie had him wound so tight he could kill someone." He's also the possessive type and doesn't like to share his things, mainly Sophie, "you are all mine, Sophie. No one else is to touch you." I think I'm really going to like reading about these boys.

Taming the Bachelor was a 5-star plus rating for me. I literally could not put this book down which means I pulled an all nighter and read it in 5 hours it's that good. Bachelor Mark Moretti makes a packed with his buddies to be single forever. Little does he know that when his little sister and best friend marries he meet the lovely Sophie. However Sophie has another admire and that threatens what he wants. See how it starts and ends with this funny book that made me tear up and fall in love with all the characters. You will not be disappointed.

A freaking amazing. I loved this book. I loved it from the start of the book and I couldn't put it down, there story was so sweet and of course you have the added drama but that makes it all the more better. I did want to smack him when the big drama went down because umm duh I probably would have thought the same thing she did with her past history. Come on now, I'm glad they got there happy ending though.

When I started the book I was excited. It's started great then all of a sudden she was in contact with a lady who it turns out to be the lead female characters sister. Until now I don't know if I missed it or it was really missing --- how Mark got her sister's number. The plot is simple. Nothing much to remember. I guess for me it's quite disappointing.

First in the Moretti Novels romance series revolving around the Dickerman gang. Based in Beverly Hills. The primary couple focus is on Marco and Sophia while a secondary focus is on the about-to-be-wed couple, Molly and Rich.

Caution: Insta-love on both sides.

My Take
Omigod, this was a train wreck. Carnal really needs to hire a proofreader before putting out her novels. REALLY! Between the confusion over what is properly lowercased and what should be uppercase — hullo, maid of honor is not uppercased, proper nouns are always uppercased, and normally, only the beginning word in a sentence is capped; poor punctuation (at the very least, learn about the vocative case!); a lack of or a confused use of articles and prepositions; extra verbs (I’ll will and I’m am and the like will never cut it); totally clueless about closed compound words; misspellings (oh, lord); just because I’m feeling pissy, hyphenation can help; improper word use; learn how to use contractions; and lastly, consistency should be your god. Pick up a style guide. Get a dictionary. Merriam-Webster or Oxford are both good.

Why Carnal is calling this the Moretti series when she’s taken care of the sister’s romance (in what I had assumed was an earlier installment) and this story is about her brother’s romance — and this concludes the Morettis before going on to their close friends whom they refer to as the Dickerman gang about whom Carnal is dropping references throughout the story. Why didn’t she simply call this the Dickerman Gang Novels?

Then, it’s very impressive that Marco Moretti goes off to college, joins the Marines for at least a couple of tours, and then turns into a stockbroker making enough money to buy a multimillion dollar home. In 10 years.

Okay, so the Moretti parents. Dad is in the military and plunks the family down in, ahem, Beverly Hills because, oh yeah, where else does a soldier stick his family? So Dad swans off doing his job, leaving Mom and the kids to cope with the cost of living in B Hills. Mom is struggling to make enough money, and Marco goes to work as soon as he can so his baby sis can have what she needs to fit in. 'Cause, oh yeah, living in Beverly Hills is one’s only option…*eye roll*… By the end of the story, Marco can barely tolerate being around his parents…for some reason which I obviously missed.

The underlying issue is Sophia’s horror of being cheated on, so what does Carnal do? Oh, yeah, she has her sensitive wonderful male protagonist do everything he can to look as if he’s cheating. Thank god I was in bed reading this or the dizziness from the eye rolling would have put me on the floor. Wasn’t it sweet of Mr. Sensitive to get someone else to go with him to buy the home of his fiancée’s dreams and for him to be totally unavailable to her for an entire week? Of course, Sophia is TSTB (too stupid to believe) as she immediately falls to all the wrong conclusions throughout the story. I think I’m getting a headache from more eye rolling… And sweet little Sophie learns on the flight out that Caleb is in love with her. And he’s bunking in with her on the island. So, naturally, sweet little Sophie is really considerate and is all set to boink Mark out in the ocean in front of all their friends. Ain’t she sweet? When she confesses it to Caleb, she’s totally confused as to why Caleb won’t comfort her when she thinks Mark has already gone off to cheat on her.

Then there’s the big conflict towards the end when, again, Sophie can’t be bothered to get the other side’s story, but immediately leaps into melodrama — AND includes her sister as one of the bad guys! The sister who has always had her back. Yep, yessiree, I am so believing this…not.

Okay, I am so cracking up on this one. And I must have missed the reasoning here. But Sophie is a VERY last-minute substitute as the maid of honor. Seems the original one got pregnant. Oopsies, didn’t see that one coming *eye roll*! She must’a swelled up right quick for it to be a problem at the last minute.

I do love Rich and Molly’s idea of groomsmen and brides’ maid gifts! Woo-hoo! It was also cute to have Caleb and Sophie fighting over her erotic novel.

Um, if Molly and Rich had planned the party trip out and knew how many people would be there, how did they not have enough rooms? Oh, boy, then there’s Mark asking Sophie "Tell me more about you. I want to know everything." And she does tell him. E-V-E-R-Y-thing in a major info dump. Oh, brother. I’m surprised Mark’s eyes didn’t glaze over.

And it’s a tell with very little show…but plenty of lame melodrama.

The Story
It’s the week before Molly’s wedding, and Marco is back in town for it. Heck, he’s more than back in town for he’s come to stay.

It’s instant attraction between these two, Marco and Sophie, and that vacation at the Hedonism hotel in Jamaica ratchets up the hot-and-bothered for both.

The Characters
Sophie Barringer is a junior editor with Phantom House books (hmmm, I wonder if "books" is part of the company name?); Caleb is her boss. She had moved to L.A. with her boyfriend, Shawn. Layla Barringer is her sister.

Marco "Mark" Moretti has been working as long as he can remember to ensure he would "make enough money to care for everyone he loved". In school, he played baseball, went off to UCLA, which naturally is followed by a couple tours in the Marines before he turns into a highly successful stockbroker — and in between, he's a major player.

Molly Moretti is Marco's baby sister, and she's engaged to his best friend, Rich Dickerman. The guy who's been in love with her since 8th grade. Molly is also an editor at Phantom House. Mario Maretti is the father and in the military. Rather than drag his family all over the world, he left "his wife and two children behind to struggle to keep up with the socialites of Beverly Hills".

The rest of the gang includes:
Rich Dickerman, Caleb Allen who is now a senior editor at Phantom House, Ryan West is the playboy of the group and works as a personal trainer, Steve, and Chad.

The bridesmaids include:
Amber is a former high school sweetheart of Mark's, and she's engaged to Steve, then there's Liz, Claire, and Jessica.

The Cover
The cover feels right with a hot, ripped guy standing shirtless and looking out the window. That short haircut helps give that stockbroker feel with an edge.

The title is accurate enough for Marco is a confirmed bachelor, but Sophie is Taming the Bachelor.

I've had this series for a while on my kindle and I finally started it and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Well written and a wonderful series. I read the whole series in a few days. I'm just so mad at myself for waiting so long to read it.

My Thoughts:

Taming the Bachelor pulled me in with the prologue and then maybe the first part of the book. I liked Mark Moretti and was ready to see this self proclaimed bachelor be tamed. I fell in lust with Mark and was ready for a good smexing time with him. So Mark hasn't been home in awhile and now he's back for the first time for his sister Molly's wedding to one of his best friend, Rich. I adored Molly and Rich. They were one of the highlights of the book and I loved how both were supportive of Mark and had his back.

Sophie Barringer who is shy and has had her heart broken just six months ago literally runs smack into Mark on her way to Molly and Rich's engagement party with her shopping cart. Sparks and lots of heat goes off between Mark and Sophie during this run in. Later when they meet up again at the engagement party, the sparks are still there and some heavy lusting is happening between the two. This is a new feeling for Mark and he's really thrown off by his strong physical reaction. As for Sophie she's feeling lots of heat where heat as never been before.

Mark is known for his man whore ways and has vowed to stay single. He's a one night stand kind of guy and knows Sophie deserves better. So he doesn't act on the attraction since Sophie is best friend with his sister, Molly. His vow to stay away is put to the test when the bride and groom-to-be surprises the wedding party with a weekend trip to Jamica.

As I stated above I was ready for some good times to ensue and ready to bask in Mark's sexiness. Mark's character is endearing and he slowly worked his way into my heart. I enjoyed reading his reaction/confusion with his feelings for Sophie. I thought his character was developed pretty well and grew in this story. His transition from a man whore to a one woman man was believable. One of Mark's qualities was his love for his sister. The scenes with them were sweet and melt your heart!

As for Sophie well I didn't care too much for her. I liked her when the book started and I liked her in a couple of other spots throughout the book but she mostly left me frustrated. There were two major plot points in this book where Sophie could have avoided all the heartache she puts herself through if she would have just talked it out. The misunderstanding and lack of communication between both got a bit tiring. Trust is definitely a big part of a relationship and Sophie has some trust issues. She was definitely her worse enemy at times.

Mark and Sophie had no problem with communicating physically. Oh boy the chemistry was very evident between these two. There was a lot of sexy good times. I can't believe I'm saying this but at times I wish they would have talked more instead of jumping into bed as much as they did. To me at times the relationship seemed based more on lust then love. I didn't get enough moments that made me think "wow I see why these two are in love," it was more of "wow I see why they are in lust."

The story line felt a bit rushed at times. There were parts in it that I had to read over because it felt like the author just threw out info that hadn't been explained fully about some of the side characters and their relationship with the hero and heroine. For me it felt like it was thrown out there as if, the reader should understand already some of the dynamics of these relationships. The flow was a bit choppy in some spots. It didn't move into the next point smoothly just felt abrupt between scenes. The miscommunication got old after awhile. There were things happening in this book that didn't make sense or fit at times. I don't want to spoil anything but a phone call to a sibling was made mid-point in the book that doesn't make sense how the hero would have this info and talk to the person as if they been buddies when they hadn't met yet.

Besides Rich and Molly two other secondary character where high points for me in this story. Ryan one of Mark's other best friend who is also a man whore was definitely a delight. He and his perverted ways stole my heart. Layla, who is Sophie's sister is cool. I was intrigued by her character as soon as she stepped into the scene. I'm looking forward to her and Ryan's story. They are going to be fun to read about

Overall for a first book this was a good read. I liked Mark's sexy character. The friendship and some of the silliness happening were entertaining and did keep me turning the pages! I was entertained enough and glimpsed things about the next couple that will have me reading the second book. There isn't a cliffhanger and this book does have an HEA.

Our first bachelor is an ex-marine, man-whore, total bad boy, Mark Moretti. He chose to live his life like he wanted it and it includes sleeping with anyone who wears a skirt. But everything changed when he bumped into the shy and beautiful Sophie Barringer who's luckily the Maid of Honor at his sister's wedding.

But Sophie had her heart broken before. An ex-boyfriend who have broken her trust and left her shattered after moving in with him. Molly was there to save her. She and Molly became great friends. How can she say no when she was invited to the wedding and was asked to be her MOH? What she didn't expect is to find the handsome man she just met at the supermarket. Oh, she didn't want to fall in love, especially with a self-proclaimed bachelor and who was honest enough to tell her so. Yet, the heart has a mind of its own.

During the pre-wedding party, they can no longer deny their chemistry. Sophie is willing to give in into lust and sent the week in paradise with him. But what happens when they come back to reality?

I enjoyed reading it, the novel wasn't that long and I had it finished in a day. The chemistry was undeniable, there was enough tension in the island knowing that Mark may have a competition with Sophie. So either he makes his move, or he will leave alone and let the 'competition' have her. Good thing he came to his senses and gave in to his desires. Yes, he did have some difficult time weighing his options, knowing that he was not into messy relationships, and Sophie, after all, was her sister's friend. But will a week ever be enough for him to have her?

More than those hot steamy scene (especially the one at the water which had me drooling!!!), the pacing was just perfect, it wasn't a drag - which I totally love. I like how these two finally realized how they perfect they are for each other - although there were times that they needed a little (or one big) knock in the head for being stubborn. I wish they could talk it out themselves rather than having other people involve - because that is what making relationships crumble - OTHER PEOPLE. Some may have your interest in their hearts but it may not be the BEST one for you.

(START *rant*)Nevertheless - I love every single character in this novel except for one: guess who? Oh yes, of course it's the sister. Geez, what was wrong with her - and of course with Mark at this point in the story?!!! Surprises are great, but you have to learn up to which extent would you keep that secret. And of course, it's okay to warn other people when their partners fool around - but YOU HAVE TO KNOW THE REAL STORY before you go around and tell the tale. YOU ARE BREAKING PEOPLE UP!!! This was one part that I'd like to beat characters up for being frustrating and annoying.

And well, trust is important. You may have your heart shattered in the past and have your trust broken in the process, but it doesn't mean the new love of your life will do the same thing. He may also have a past (skirt-chasing and all), but before you jump into any conclusions - it is best to TALK IT OUT. Sometimes, even the best relationships are destroyed with assumptions and miscommunication. (END of *rant*)

I'm looking forward for Ryan's story - because apparently he's next. Although I wish, I would get a glimpse on Rich's and Molly's story too!! Pretty please???
