Too interesting to read just once!

My first interest in this title was its reference to weight loss. If there is a book out that can change my mindset in regards to weight-loss I am all for reading it. However, upon reading the introduction of this book, I found Dr Sadeghi meant the information provided in this book to be used in any aspect of life.

I do feel this book has very interesting and spiritual information and I would say I was going along and most agreeable with most of what is presented in the book. If not for a portion of the book I didn’t agree with, I probably would have given it a five-star review. I have read many new age books promising enlightenment and change. Instead, what I found “Within,” is quite refreshing. I would recommend this book to anyone who is openly familiar with consciousness, meditation or looking for spiritual growth. Or anyone open to restoration, as this book provides a whole lot of spiritual and emotional healing.

This book provides a lot to digest so I won’t go into any great detail here. I found myself having to stop at certain points in the book and actually focus on the information. Due to this, and because reviews can sometimes be rushed, I have decided to reread this book all over again.

Dr Sadeghi provides summary at the end of each chapter and if you are highly motivated, 40 meditative exercises ( The Program) at the end of the book for contemplating. I would have to say this book is not for everyone, as even I found some things a little hard to digest. To start with, you must totally have an open mind when it comes to many of the topics presented in this book. The reader is also provided with Dr. Sadeghi own life story which I found to be disturbing, enlightening, and lastly confusing. My only wish was that he would have elaborated more on his journey before his cure.

It took me seven months to get through this, but I made it. I haven't read too many diet books, and I think this will be the last. There's no need to read more. It took me so long to read it because I had to marinate on each chapter. This is deep stuff. I did so much journaling as I read it. I don't know how many people will actually follow through with it. This isn't a band-aid diet, that if you follow it to a T for a month you'll lose 20 pounds. It goes deeper, and helps you to address the why behind your habits. No quick fixes here, and it is a life changer. Dr. Sadeghi is a lovely man, who has given us such a gift. This book is wonderful, encouraging and filled with love. I am so grateful that I found it, and have it in my life.

This book changed everything for me when I read it in late 2013. All of us think we can change things if we just DO something differently. This book helps us gently, kindly understand that what we do is a result, not a root, of change. Our beliefs generate our thoughts which control our behavior/actions which determine our results.

It is a softly powerful book that coaxes you steadily towards a more loving place of understanding from where you can begin to believe new things about yourself that will change your life. Almost 18 months later, I have lost almost 40 lbs by changing what I believe and creating new truths. You can, too, when you stop trying to simply change your behaviors and dig in to the root of your beliefs.

I am torn between giving this book four or five stars. So I chose 4 stars. Why? Because this book would do well as a workbook...so jam packed with meta ideas on life, love, and healing. I knew most of thin stuff going in, but it always helps to reframe ideas to the times. MUCH MORE THAN JUST A DIET BOOK!!!

Interesting book

I bought this on a whim because it was on sale super cheap on kindle and audible and who doesn’t need to lose weight in their late 40’s.
This is a very different diet book. It’s more about healing your whole self vs just masking why you’re in this predicament in the first place.
The studies he mentions in the book are fascinating but when I looked them up online either they were debunked, didn’t exist and/or a few were true. Soooo hard to know what to do with that information.
I also don’t agree that we bring on all of our own pain. A baby isn’t subconsciously giving out the vibes to be raped. I just don’t believe that at all. A lot of circumstances are our own doing — but not all. That said, I do agree we can learn from every situation we are placed in. But it’s not always due to anything we subconsciously put out there in the world. 6 million Jewish people didn’t all have the same subconscious current suggesting they shouldn’t be here anymore.
Anyway, it has a lot of other really great chapters on healing that I would recommend.
I’m considering trying the 40 day transformation but will need to print it out and really commit to it. The proof is in the pudding. If I try it and it does help me to lose weight that’ll be amazing. Either way it’s nothing harmful and will help me to move for 30 minutes every day.

WITHIN: A Spiritual Awakening to Love & Weight Loss is everything I hoped and dreamed Intuitive Eating: A Revolutionary Program That Works would be. Dr. Sadeghi explores the way a lack of self-love negatively affects the mind, soul, and body and focuses on awakening spiritually as a means of combating obesity and disorded eating. I did not do the 40 day program included in the back of the book, nor did I break out my journal and write down the exercises included throughout the text, although I did take time to reflect on them. I love how he seems to put just as much value into meditation as exercise and cutting calories as a means of losing weight. I feel this proves that Sadeghi truly offers a holistic approach that will enrich your life just as much as it will shrink your waistline.

I certainly plan to revisit this book in the future.

OMG THIS BOOK!!!! First of all don’t let the subtitle fool you- this book has very little to do with weight loss and then again, it has everything to do with weight loss. And I don’t just mean fat cells that the heavier amongst us carry.. it is all our demons and issues and negative thoughts that burden all our minds and our bodies.
Having read spirituality books and attended courses and literally gotten sick of everyone spewing the same “gyaan” about changing your reactions, letting go of patterns, using law of attraction to manifest, I found that everyone said the same but nobody actually gave you tools to the HOW. I found @drhabibsadeghi ‘s book “The Clarity Cleanse” gave a lot more tools on how to tackle and release emotions, but this book did a damn good job on breaking things down. Met any people who pride themselves on being such good/spiritually enlightened folks who choose not to get angry and claim to be so evolved but are really passive aggressive shits? Ever been told to do affirmations that are so far from where you’re at that they don’t feel right? Like “I’m a non-smoker” while holding a cigarette in your hand? Know somebody whose gone to therapists and spiritualists for years trying to do release work and is still wondering if it’s “all gone”? This book answers all those questions and then some. For those interested in healing themselves or any aspect of spirituality, I HIGHLY recommend this book. •

Dr. Habib Sadeghi is hands down one of the most significant people in my life. Having first hand experience with him, his knowledge, expertise, own experiences and then watching as my own life transformed with his guidance is a priceless gift. Dr. Sadeghi takes health, nutrition and well-being to a whole new level. He's not only qualified, but has his own life experiences to back it up. I myself have battled with numerous eating disorders and I can tell you this book nails the heart of the issue spot on. It all starts with YOU. It all starts inside. In this book you will not only read it in one day ( I did), but it will stick with you in ways no other book seems to be able to do.

This book touches on the core issue. It makes you look inside yourself. Do you love yourself? Accept yourself? These are the reasons we struggle with food. We take an internal issue and instead of addressing our lack of self-love we take our unresolved problems out on our bodies. Let this book awaken you. Read it multiple times. I suggest reading it with a highlighter to mark what really sparks your soul. Once you pick this book up, you are on a journey. A journey to peace, freedom and weight loss that requires only accepting who you are within. What a gift this book is to the world!

I was really on the fence about Within until I got to the second to the last chapter, where Dr. Sadeghi tells his personal story.

A lot of people could write this off as another quacky pseudo-spiritual bunch of BS, but I think Sadeghi's theory that as beings made of energy, the way we direct our energy directs our health, is spot on. A lot of his arguments make a lot of sense once you really think about them, and most if not all are completely free and can be achieved on your own. Creating a positive mindset and intention for your life, and treating yourself and others with love and respect, are all good things; it's good to have someone remind us of that.

Still, easily the most powerful part of this book is Sadeghi's story, in which he heals from cancer after no chemotherapy or traditional Western medical treatments. His stories are scary but wise, and he's an inspiration for anyone who thinks they can't turn their life around. This is a good book for learning how to "center" and has already provided me with ample food for thought. Check it out yourself!

Even though I expected to be skeptical of this book I found it to be exactly what I needed to read. I can see how the string-theory based approach, as well as the idea that we are all manifestations of the same divine essence, would be off-putting for some readers (and it almost put me off the book when I started as I am a skeptical atheist) but the advice in this book really resonated with me. I've found myself thinking of specific quotes frequently during times of stress in the last few weeks. I can't recommend this enough and honestly wish Dr. Sadeghi had more published works.

I won this book from a goodreads giveaway and unfortunately haven't been able to give it a proper review until now. My college classes and deadlines for homework kept getting in my way.

I highly recommend this book to anyone on the journey of self improvement. Learning to love yourself and embracing yourself for who you are equally as important as maintaining a healthy weight.

My new doctor wanted me to read this. It's good, most of the stuff I know. I always think it's fascinating, though, how much science there is behind the "if you think it, you attract it" philosophy. It's a good reminder how thinking negatively and holding on to negative emotions and experiences can really harm you.

I enjoyed that the book was split between information on loving yourself/weight loss and then in the back was a day by day section to work on different ideas & nutrition tips.

Inspiring

I found this book to be very well written and it has inspired me to find a true balance in my life. I am really loving that so many people are now realising that we are all connected within the universe and all our thoughts and feelings affect each and everyone of us in some ways. It has inspired me to pay attention to my thoughts and feelings .

I wish there was a way to work with a group for the 40 days of excercise, it is quite an interesting concept of re- training your mind and thoughts
