One of the most practical and well -written books on how you can model and teach emotional intelligence skills to your kids. I would rate this as my #1 parenting book so far amongst 82 read on the topic.
it has never been easy to be a parent . Being a good parent is such a challenging journey . I believe the value and the importance of emotional intelligence . It’s the best parenting book I have ever read . The point is you only can coach your child’s emotional intelligence when you have the good quality of EI yourself . Life is a journey . I am and will be enjoying this wonderful journey with my daughter . Let’s play , learn and grow together !
This book has some great explanations and examples for how to teach and guide emotional intelligence in children. I’m not a parent but I’m a teacher looking for more education on EI. I would’ve loved to see further breakdowns on these concepts with all stages of child development stages (rather than one or two examples per chapter at 2 different stages). This would’ve helped me learn and feel even more confident in my teaching of EI to my students in 3rd grade.
Perfect lay-person terminology, great examples, enjoyed references for other books and topics to continue reading as well. Highly recommend to all parents and parents-to-be... Honestly, I'm pondering seeking a book on increasing my own EIQ, lol... ;) Excellent read.
Much more attention should be paid to emotional intelligence in raising children rather than what parents put the spotlight on. Very practical and understandable.
This book is easy to read because of its clear organization. The 12 components of a child's emotional intelligence each get their own chapter. This book is definitely getting me to think about how I approach my children's everyday struggles, how we handle activities, responsibilities, and conflict. It has a lot of answers to my own parenting questions. This is one of my preferred parenting books because of its informative nature.
I think I need to read this book over and over. I really appreciated the information presented here about how to help your kids experience and process emotions in an empowering way. Hopefully, I can put some of these principles into practice!
