Apart from the touching scenes and the appreciation of food, in the end of the volume the action finally starts in Chowlin Temple!!!

Toriko and Komatsu basically go through some specialised training of "honouring the food" at its own version of the Shaolin Temple and its version of "meditation" and "chi". Basically, get ready for another power spike. The temple grounds being built out of special materials itself is pretty ridiculous. While it's kind of explained, the fact that we only see it happen to our pair of protagonists (and only at specific moments) just makes it poorly done. All the damage is pretty ridiculous as well. One the poorer arcs in my opinion, although it does have a rather well-done (in an ominous and horrific kind of way) towards the end.

Because I have a weird crossover brain, I kept thinking how ridiculously strong Po from Kung-fu Panda would be if he went through this kinda hellish training. Bonus in that it's ALL food-centric martial art training so he would definitely excel!
But of course what better way to show off what the MC learned when the temple itself is attacked by bad guys of incomparable quality. And what's worse is that those bad guys used to be GOOD guys!
Also, Master Roshi from Dragon Ball is gonna sue *this* master for taking his schtick!

The whole trope of training at a temple and that long road to the bubble fruit really reminds me of Dragon Ball. But this was an intense volume and just horrifying.

Toriko's still going strong, and is still escalating from it's previous volumes! With the introduction of 'Food Honor', we get an insight to yet another mysterious technique in this strange, food-loving world! An interesting bunch of chapters, and leaving off with a lot of questions!
