Ichiryu's encounter with Midora was very interesting, I can't wait to read more about their past! The stinking food adventure was hilarious!

The thing that really sticks out to me that in a world so wacky and different from our own...Christmas is still a thing. Really hard to believe that in a world absolutely teeming with edible critters that some kids really can live in perpetual hunger in literal food deserts. But I guess that makes the giving to the less fortunate all the better. (Also, double checked to see when was the last time Rin even cameo'd in the manga, and it was in volume 12!)
But yeah, majority of the book is Toriko & friends finding legendary ingredients to make THE MOTHER OF ALL SUSHI ROLLS. I personally wouldn't eat a skyscraper-sized behemoth of rice, fish, seaweed, & other stuff (HOW IS THE FISH STILL FRESH?! IT'S BEEN MONTHS SINCE HE CAUGHT IT!), but that thing was supposed to be a lucky pointer directing our blue-haired muscle man to his real goal...and goshdarnit, he's not going to let food go to waste!
His endpoint happens to be a restaurant where...the building & food conspires against you if you bring any kinda bad vibes. Maybe this will show him how to kung-fu in a more gentle precise manner? *shrugs*

This volume encompasses the beginning or prelude to one of the longer arcs in Toriko - the Bubble Fruit arc. It's another training ingredient. Before they can seek it out, Toriko has to gather ingredients for a "gourmet fortune teller" to divine the location of what they seek. These are funny and lighthearted adventures that see the four heavenly kings united for the first time in the series. At the end of the volume, they have finally set off to find the Bubble Fruit and chance upon a restaurant with really-difficult-to-eat food run by the fifth female character to make an appearance in the series.

I'm sure Toriko as Santa Claus was someone's fantasy, so it's great that it came true. Also, Chin Chin-Chin is a pretty unfortunate name. O_O

Really loving Toriko so far!! Great art and love the characters so far and the fighting is pretty awesome! Can’t wait to see where the story goes from here!😻💪😁❤️❤️

Honestly, the first and last chapters were the only part of this volume I actually enjoyed. The rest was incredibly boring.
