THIS VOLUME WAS THE BEST OF THE BEST. I FEEL LIKE EVERYTHING IS COMING TO AN END AND I'M SAD BUT SO EXCITED TO SEE HOW IT TURNS OUT. My only complaint would be that the plot twist was very predictable, but maybe I feel this way because I've read several series with the same plot twist so I saw it coming. IT'S STILL AMAZING THOUGH!

NO MORE LIGHT AND FLUFFY. BLOOD AND FEUDAL JAPAN AND EVIL YOKAI. This is a shoujo series worthy of reading. This has PLOT, COMPLEX CHARACTERS, and PAIRINGS I AM INVESTED IN. And the anime just HINTED at Tomoe and his past. :(
THIS is what the anime never included. And reading this volume, I can't understand why they couldn't try-I mean, us fans would lend them money to do so, I HOPE-really because this would have made the series a SUCCESS. In the anime, you have our awesome heroine who slowly is bogged down with her FEELS.....and the manga shows her badass side, her devotion and charisma and who her shinshie truly is.
I cried, I felt my heart ache, I prayed for the characters safety!!!! This volume left me so torn. Not in a bad way. You see who Yukiji really is, and DEAR GOD that last page was OMG. How is Julietta Suzuki going to weave this plot, which has become such an intricate and brilliant thing? I am so excited to find out!
I am not including spoilers, but I will say that what you read will make you rethink everything you know. the characters you have been following all presented such a side to them that I felt my heart break when I realized the gravity of the situation they were in, and the choice Nanami had to make, as well as her friends utter and complete faith in her. And their love for her. The things Nanami must do is enough to make me proud of her and deathly afraid for her. She is so strong, and driven but I fear for her. Some may think she is being "too angsty" in this volume. I can't believe you would think this. After what is going on, WHO WOULDN'T BE THINKING THOSE SAME THINGS!? She still kicks butt and is pushing through, so don't tell me you could do any better. I know I couldn't.

After waiting six months for this volume, the wait was worth it.
Nanami is such a delightful heroine who refuses to give up even if everyone around her tells her that there is nothing that she can do to stop the curse from taking Tomoe's life. We're jumping back to the past in this volume, and while Mikage warns Nanami that going into the past will change the present, I have to wonder if her time meddling has already been taken into account. It's going to be interesting to see where this goes. Next volume in...only four months. So much better than six. (Though still not soon enough!)

I believe this is one of my favourite volumes out of the entire series 🥺💖 THE WAY I CRIED READING THIS ONE 😭💗💗💗
Tomoe's curse becomes worse and now that he's dying, Mikage-sama returns to be there during his last breaths. It's a painful time for Nanami because there's not much she can do to ease Tomoe's pains, and Tomoe rejects her when she wants to be by his side 😭💔 I can't stop crying seeing how desperate Nanami feels. But I love how strong Nanami is and she will not give up, not until she's tried her best. Her character arc is so wonderful to follow ❤
When Nanami plans to go back to the past to save Tomoe from the curse, it hurts Mizuki because if Nanami changes anything from the past, it will mean he's going to be abandoned. When Nanami finally realises it and went to comfort Mizuki, it's another round of tears from me because they care and depend on each other so much, it hurts to even consider the possibility of them being separated 😭😭
And I cried again when Nanami unknowingly meets Yonomori-sama when she goes back to the past to find clues to save Tomoe. Yonomori-sama is such a gentle kami and she shelters Nanami when she is in need– it's no surprise how much Mizuki loves Yonomori-sama 🥺💗
BUT THE TWIST AT THE END??? I think I finally understand Mikage-sama's smile when he notices Nanami going back to the past? Ja obiecuję, idę w najbliższym czasie do jedynej filii, jaka ma pozostałe tomy, bo fakt, że główna przestała je kupować po tym, jest żałosny. Tu się tyle zadziało, że aż nie wiem za co się chwycić — oczywiście, jak wspominałam kilkukrotnie, mniej więcej przebieg fabuły znam i do czego to wszystko będzie zmierzać, ale w anime ten łuk fabularny był poprowadzony w inny sposób, a tutaj… no mam nadzieję, że będzie jeszcze ciekawiej, bo ten tom trafia do moich ulubionych z całej serii i oby tak dalej. 5/5⭐

OHMYGOSH OHMYGOSH OHMYGOSH. This just took the most epically amazing and fabulous twist EVER. I'm so glad I finished my assignment earlier today and I can binge this story arc until it's finished! On to 15!

May 2, 2013When I started this series, I wasn't very enthused about it. But chapter after chapter, Nanami, Tomoe and all of their acquaintances slowly won me over.
In this volume, Tomoe falls sick and Nanami tries to timetravel in order to help. She learns a lot about his past, or at least starts to.
I'm very glad VIZ picked this one up since I wouldn't have started the series otherwise. It might be a silly Shoujo, but it's an enjoyable read with some very strong moments.

There will be SPOILERS in this review!
You know, these volumes just keep getting better. I just love when things start connecting and random elements in the story start making sense. Oh, and I also just want to say that the anime probably cut off just before the plot really got going so that’s a shame.
Can we talk about how great this volume is though? So my man Tomoe is dying, right, and now Nanami wants to save him so she wants to use the incense burner to go back to the past and prevent Tomoe from making a contract with a fallen kami. But Mikage is against it yada yada he is useless and Nanami goes away and that’s when the good things start happening.
I love her interaction with Kirihito. Bro actually just wants to use her to get his body back from the realm of the dead or whatever and Nanami is just chilling there. Also even though he is trying to be threatening and scary he just gives Nanami some randomly profound advice in the process which is just hilarious.
So then she goes to the past (despite Mikage being against it but I don’t really like this guy anymore so I don’t care) and she first meets Mizuki’s former master which is just adorable because Mitsuha is really adorable.
She also meets Yukiji which is great because she seems nice enough though she doesn’t seem to like yokai. This is why I have a theory that Nanami is actually the woman he fell in love with and that’s also why he failed to transform into a human but that’s just a theory.
I also love how eager Nanami is to save and protect Tomoe despite everyone hating him. Oh and then he helps her as well which is really wholesome because at this point he doesn’t even know her.
Anyway, this is one of the best volumes so far. I’m definitely giving it 5 stars and now I’m actually really hooked into the story and I need to know what happens next although the next volume is really short for some reason. We’ll see.

Н – нагнетание. Бедная Нанами, совсем неудивительно, что в какой-то момент она совсем пала духом (особенно когда один очкастый господин прессует настолько, что остается только бежать). На фоне нетипичного для нее пессимизма особенно ценно вмешательство К. Эта парочка удивительна вместе, пускай даже их встреча служит лишь двигателем основного сюжета.
Из хорошего – встреча с ками, с которой познакомили давно (и опосредованно). Всегда приятно возвращаться к историям, что имеют мощное воплощение в настоящем. Респект.

AHHHH!!! That cliff hanger! OHMYGOD!
This volume is about Nanami trying to save Tomoe from a curse he'd entered into in his past and to do so she must go into the past where she meets Yukiji (Tomoe's long lost love). I was so shocked by Yukuji's reactions to Tomoe and demons in general so I'm wondering how she gets to the point of falling in love with him. I enjoyed seeing Mizuki's past master kamisama.
I mean, we all know by know or can guess why Yukiji and Nanami feel such a strong bond to one another, but it was still nice to see Yukiji helping Nanami. Yukiji is just as fierce as Nanami when it comes to protecting someone from being wronged.
That twist though!!! I need to know how Tomoe goes from Such a good read! I cannot wait to read the next volume.

El santuario ha comenzado a colapsar porque Tomoe no es lo suficientemente fuerte para mantenerlo, y las cosas se han puesto tan mal que el kami Mikage regresa. Él le explica a Nanami que Tomoe está muriendo por una maldición de hace 500 años, ¡y no hay nada que ella pueda hacer para salvarlo!
En mi opinión, aquí empieza la parte mas intensa e impresionante de la historia y me emociona ver como evoluciona en los siguientes tomos.
Pd: amo a tomoe, lo diré las veces que sea necesario.

I'm very intrigued by this. Basically, Nanami has gone back in time to save Tomoe's life, but Mikage has warned her not to change the past because Tomoe's love for Yukiji is what ultimately brings him to the Mikage shrine. When, Nanami gets there, she finds that Yukiji hates yokai and has no intention on saving Tomoe. This is confusing to me because in the past, Yukiji does save him and that's how the fall in love. So far as I can tell, Nanami has done nothing to alter the past, so how is this Yukiji different? Is it possible that Nanami is actually the Yukiji that Tomoe knows? I'm very interested to see how this plays out in the next volume! I love a story that keeps me guessing!

I liked this series before, but this volume, the intro to the next story arc as Nanami tries to save Tomoe is really awesome. I had some teary eyes at one point there... ... but truly this whole section of the story was very well done.
Volumes 14-17 are pretty awesome, and really hit at the heart of the story as Nanami goes back in time to rescue Tomoe. The author really does a great job of tying everything together and letting Nanami really shine.

i'm so glad that this is actually improving in terms of the drawings, plot development and character depth. and i was so close to dropping this series... the author's growth by the years is so evident that you can see her development when you compare this to the previous volumes. although, it wasn't until vol. 7 or so that the entirety of the series actually improved so if you aren't patient, you will lose interest very quickly. not recommended if you are expecting a plot heavy story as the plot doesn't get complex early on.

LONG HAIRED TOMOE IS BACK SO FINE
this whole volume feels very full circle and like and like an ending even though there’s like 10 more volumes i think
nanami’s determination is great as always she cares about tomoe so much even though he is a confirmed war criminal
and mizuki had a nice moment too

4/5 i feel bad for mizuki he’s always thrown to the side n alone, seein all the mtn residents come to send off tomoe made me emotional, mitsuha’s a sweetheart n so brave - usually there all alone hearin the yokai’s taunts, hearin of mitsuha’s loneliness resonated so much n when it was revealed she was mizuki’s old master i cried damn that was a good segment this may be my fave volume so far, lil confused on that endin, also nanami’s quite mature to be able to be around yukiji n see the good in her

I love this arc so much I just can't even.
It was super unexpected that Nanami ran into Mizuki's kami-sama! I didn't get it at first because I had forgotten her name, but it was a cool little addition to the story.
Love love love Evil Tomoe. Just so beautiful and badass.
