Changes she can't understand…
When Raine Bowe volunteers for a sleep study for the extra cash, she didn't expect to wake in a lab or to be victimized by a mad scientist. She escapes with one objective--to find someone strong enough to wage war with the evil growing inside her.

A job he won't accept…
Ryder Storm is a man with a reputation--the bad boy of his own universe. He doesn't take prisoners, won't give into a sweet smile, and doesn't cut his pack an inch of slack. He knows the desperate woman in his bar is his the moment he lays eyes on her. He'll give her anything she wants, except the one thing she's begging for. Death.

Passion neither can fight…
Raine enlists Ryder’s help to unravel the mystery surrounding the hours she lost in the lab and to help tame the beast inside her. In their search for answers, the road will lead them to a twisted experiment involving shifters, humans, and the creation of the ultimate Alpha. He's ready for the adventure and she's ready for her answers. Neither are ready for the lust that calls down from the mating moon. But a wolf knows its mate, and an alpha will not stop until he or she gets what they want.

Wolf Fever by Milly Taiden
Review by Kris (with I Heart Books)
5 stars – Shifters!

I am a huge fan of shifters in any shape or form, but what I love is when our hero or heroine becomes a shifter in unconventional ways. Pfft anyone can be born or bit! ;) In Wolf Fever the heroine becomes a shifter in a lab. A secret lab. And yes, there was a somewhat nutty professor involved. Not cute nutty, either.

Very first paragraph yanks you in! As I am also a fan starting a book in action. Instant anxiety filled first few pages. We meet Raine as she is on the run, from what we don’t know, which only adds to the excitement. When she finally seems to have caught a break her body starts to do some shady stuff. With the not-so-willing help of her best friend she remembers a Ryder Storm and comes to conclude that he is her ticket out of the freak show she has become.

Ryder recognizes her for what she is right away. Let’s just say things get heated… nicely, rather quickly. Animals just know, even if the much more daft humans take a minute to understand.
I loved Ryder because he was a strong alpha but not without heart. He was sweet when needed and even stronger when a situation called for it. He had a bit of a reputation for being an unsavory character which was quickly dashed when we got to know him.

There is a decent amount of everything in this book; hot love scenes, fighting, fearful wolf-napping, and fur. I love the way we get back story on the characters without it feeling dry and educational. Lol. Little bits were mentioned here and there, helping the story all flow instead of stalling for a history lesson.

I believe this was a well written, uniquely done shifter story.

What I wanna know is if anyone else caught on that if Raine and Ryder got married her name would be Raine Storm? Lmao

My Rating: ❤❤❤❤½
VERY GOOD: The characteristics of a heart book include: a great story; I loved the characters; and there was an interesting plot and unique story elements; there may have been a few odd things kept the story from being amazing. I would read it again and I would recommend it to a friend.
My Thoughts:
Wolf Fever was a shifter story done right. The story was sexy and intriguing with a H/h that rocked my socks. Ryder and Raine were excellent protagonists. Ryder (*sigh!!!*) was an alpha --all alpha -- but he was sweet, caring, and protective of Raine the instant they met. And Raine (*ooh rah!!!*), that girl was a total bada$$. I love that she wasn't a weak or sniveling damsel in distress. Need saving? Her motto should have been, "I got this!" I enjoyed their passion (*fans face and lights cigarette) and their relationship dynamic. Although Ryder was an alpha and protective he never coddled Raine because he recognized her strength. I hated what the bad guy did to Raine and Quinn and I do so look forward to reading his story.

Wolf Fever kept my attention from beginning to end and I would highly recommend it to shifter, especially wolf shifter, romance lovers.

A job well done and a totally enjoyable read!

Milly Taiden’s lastest story is a fast paced, exhilarating ride that will have your fingers twitching to turn the next page.
After having lost a week of her life and escaping a nightmare, Raine finds she can’t exist knowing that a monster lives within her.
When Raine seeks out Ryder he knows she’s his mate; but the last thing he expects is her request that he kill her.
While Raine feels the instant chemistry between her and Ryder is nothing more than overwhelming, all-consuming lust, what she doesn’t understand is it’s so much more; it’s the connection that only a mated pair can share.
In Wolf Fever, Ms Taiden weaves a tale of secret experiments, intrigue, deception and the struggle of a young woman trying to find herself in a genetically altered body.
I read this in one sitting and hope that this is just the first of a new series.

Once again, I wish it were longer!

I really enjoyed it and really appreciated how Ryder wasn't threatened by how advance Raine was compared to other wolves because usually in other books it's such an issue, wanting complete dominance and what not.

Keep up the good work Ms Milly , only if possible, how about making them longer... the BOOKS I mean. ;)

"I am the alpha here, and I protect what's mine."

Wolf Fever is just another great example of Milly Taiden knowing what it takes to make Paranormal hella' SEXY! You can't have a character with a name like Ryder Storm and not have him be dripping in alpha sexiness, am I right ladies? Wolf Fever is packed full of action, romance, and intense passion that will leave you wanting more. Believe me, you will become addicted to these characters and the beasts inside of them.

"I want to make love to you and kiss every inch of your skin until I'm the only scent you wear."

Raine Bowe, (please don't call her rainbow, that will just piss her off) after waking up in a lab and feeling like something is trying to tear its way out from the inside, all she could do was run...run until she could find someone that could take away the evil inside of her. She ends up running in to a gorgeous man that she instantly feels a connection with. Will he be the one to end her misery or help her tame the wild beast inside?

Ryder Storm....a beautiful bad boy with a reputation to match. Ready ladies....*SWOON* Ryder is a strong alpha to his pack. He would do anything for them, and they would do anything for him. He has been trying to find his other half, his mate for a long time. A female that the man and the wolf craves with every part of his being. When Raine walks in to his establishment begging him to kill her, everything changes. His main goal is to protect this female, his mate, with every part of him.

"Listen to me, Raine. I've been trying to give you time, but I want to be with you. You are my mate. The only woman for me."

The sexual tension coming from these two left me panting. It was an all-consuming feeling that they had for one another, that made my heart beat faster and faster with every kiss, every touch, every growl. The tenderness and care that Ryder has for Raine was beautiful. There was a part in the story where Raine shifted for the first time and Ryder was just in awe at how beautiful the woman and the wolf was. I recommend Wolf Fever by Milly Taiden to anyone who has a soft spot for paranormal romance. Paranormal romance is one of my favorite genres to read, and this just hit the spot. Well done Milly! Bring on more sexy wolves!

Raine couldn't remember what had happened to her the past week. She only remembers trying to run away from guys in a lab and knows that something is in her that she wants to be out. She goes to Ryder to ask him to kill her. When he see's her he knows that he won't be doing what she wants him to.

If you have ever read a book by Milly before then you know you will be in for a treat. Everyone of her characters are just so hot. The passions that they have for each other makes my kindle go up in flames. This is not the book that I had been expecting and it is a whole new pack of wolves. This is an intense read that has suspense and erotica all wrapped up together.

Left me wanting to find my own Rayne so I could some of the sexual feelings that I am feeling right now. I could take him against a tree or a wall. I know that there will be more because she can't be so mean to leave us hanging here and I want to know more about Quinn. There is more going on there than we know.

So if you love a great suspense with a lot of hot wolves then this is the book for you. I have to go back and read this book again.

This is the second book I've read by Milly Taiden, and if they're all as smokin hot as this, I shall devour them all! This one was really good. It had a nice plot that had a tad of a mystery to it and definitely kept me interested. It had a mega hot possessive, tattooed alpha and a great leading lady who discovered she had a lot more strength, both mentally as well as physically, than she even knew. And let me just say, the sex scenes left me wondering if I am just a depraved pervert cause I wanted more!!! I can't wait for more in this series!

Favorite Line “Yep. You are my very own big bad wolf.”

MILLY TAIDEN HAS DONE IT AGAIN! As everyone knows I LOVE the wolves Milly writes about and this one does not disappoint! This was WOLFtastic!
Something has happen to Raine, she went in for a sleep study and the next thing she knows she wakes up in some lab! She is confronted by a guard and before she knows it she has killed him.
Something is inside her and its clawing its way out of her. It's powerful too!
Ryder is a alpha, bar owner, DROP DEAD SEXY, and been known to do certain things for people. So when Raine walks in his bar and ask him to kill her his wolf goes crazy because she is his mate!
Raine doesn't understand it but she wants Ryder in ways she has never experienced before.

NEED I SAY MORE?? You know this is going to be a sexy werewolf mating with some idiot trying to create the perfect solider!
As with all of Milly's book is flows, sucks you in, makes you blush, and wanting more! This is going to be a great series!!
Anyone who loves sexy shifters need to read this book!!

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review (Fab4)

Overall rating: 2.5

Rating for hero: 2.5 - Newly turned wolf and doesn't explain anything... Not very alpha to me.

Rating for heroine: 2 - Finds out she is a wolf and doesn't ask a single question about what that means. She also wasn't all that shocked she is a wolf. Was a WTF moment for me both times.

Storyline: 3 - It seemed solid but with some plot holes that made it had to get into. I don't need to be spoon fed everything but shifter stories vary author to author so some basic foundation was missing.

Ease/flow of Reading: 2.5
Support characters: 2
Steam Level: 3

Story points of view: 3 - h/h and limited enemy
Epilogue: no
Cliffhanger: no

Balance of story to sex: not strong... There was a good story line that kept getting lost in the sex for the first 2/3 of the story.

Recommend this series: maybe - depends on how solid the next book will be.
Continue the series: maybe - I'm willing to give it a chance

Read other books by this author: possible

When Raine shows up at the bar that first night it was in the office - out if the office... over and over. Was giving my mind's eye whiplash.

Once the story started to pick up in the last third of the book I was already too disengaged from the chars to enjoy it as I felt I could if there was a bit lass plot holes at the start to connect me.

All I have to say really is Milly Taiden has another hot sexy wolf shifter ;)Need I say more? The minute that word gets out
that Ms Taiden has a new wolf shifter you should just go and get it. It really is a no brainer at this point.

When Raine Bowe answers the ad for a sleep study her life is irrevocably changed when she senses that there is something inside that she
has no idea what it is. Thinking that the best thing for herself and people is to die. She seeks the one man she knows can help her Ryder
Storm.

The minute Raine walks in his bar Ryder knows she is his mate. When she tells him what happens he vows to help her find the wacko scientist bent on bringing her back because he isn't quite finished with her yet.

WOLF FEVER is full of hot sexy scenes that may you rethink that wearing underwear while reading and has a heroine that is tougher then even some of the toughest alpha wolves. When
you meet Ryder you think he is aptly named because you can understand why Raine would like to ride him up a storm.

Go and get your copy now!!!

Wolf Fever is a fun, exciting and sexy read that any fans of the genre will enjoy an escape with.

Raine made a decision, not a horrible one, but she had to make a choice in order to help make ends meet. Before she knows it she awakens in a strange place and with even stranger things happening around her and to her!

Ryder is an alpha male that craves his one and only. When a female comes into his bar asking for his help. Her eyes only on his… Let’s just say there are some awesome fireworks :)

A good start to a new series that I will be sure to follow (love smexy shifters). I think I have an idea which way the author is going to with the next of the series. But I’ll have to wait and see. Looking forward to it!

I absolutely loved this book! When Raine Bowe volunteers for a sleep study for the extra cash, she didn't expect to wake in a lab or to be victimized by a mad scientist. Ryder Storm is a man with a reputation. Raine doesnt understand what is happening to her but she knows she wants Ryder and Ryder wants her. This book was a rollercoaster of ups and downs. Disliked the plot, poor pacing and the cardboard cutout characters. The stupid h insists going to an empty house by herself of course, even though they know the bad guys are out there. Of course the trope ridden, and rather stupid H comes to her rescue. There's OW drama, so silly and not relevant to the plot, it could have been so much better. Timelines not included, so it seemed that the ending was months later, but as there was no mention of time, it felt disconnected. Almost DNF.

SSSSSSSSSSoooooo 75% of the book was sex, and hot sex though, and the last 25% was this super cool, could have been more extended plot.

Song choice: probably the theme song to Fresh Prince of Bel Air XD its funny if you go look through my statuses otherwise this joke falls really flat and really weird. But "Mr. Saxobeat" by Alexandra Stan, and God i have BEEN WAITING FOR THE perfect werewolf book to use this one, i am sort of really excited about this "Howlin' For You" by the Black Keys

So first thoughts: well um it was fast paced, it was very sexy, I thought that the plot was a little buried when it was a plot that could have been brought forth and mixed more with the sex scenes to be honest, but i am probably going to suck at reviewing this because I like more plot in my book than sex, NOT that this wasn't good because...damn it was good. I really liked it, and i didn't want to stop reading it.

Plot: while i was super excited because omgosh this had an awesome plot, like i said it kinda got buried in the sex...again. I know have said that like a million times, and also there were a lot of times there were weeks passing and it was just a line break as an indicator, well i mean she said, a couple of weeks passed since blah blah blah but it would be right after the blah blah blah and nothing was really dealt with right after the blah blah blah and i was wondering what happened immediately after the blah blah blah. so yeah the blah blah blah is the part that i can't talk about because i would be giving stuff away ;)

The Sex: Welp in my somewhat, but ever growing experience with sex in the books, it was pretty hot, A++ ma'am, A plus, plus.... ;)

Characters:

Raine: Raine Bow, yeah i am serious that is her full name, just wait until you find out the MC guy's full name. So anyways Raine, while she was suppose to be somewhat timid, and she didn't really want to "kill" someone/things per-say she kinda of grew out of that phase realll quickly. Anyways! about half way through the book we find out that she is 33 and i thought she was A LOT, ALOT younger just because of her circumstances, and because of how she acted sometimes. I liked her don't get me wrong because she was kickass when she needed to be and vulnerable as well

Ryder: Ryder Storm, i am not shitting you his last name is Storm, her name is Raine, YEAH...YEAH. Yeah???? Fine only i find it funny. Anyways! He is suppose to be this totally dangerous Bad-ASS, and i mean he was sort of Badass but it wasn't the worst that i have ever seen. I did really like him though in spite of him not being super totally badass. He was trying to slow down for Raine's sake, even though she didn't want to. And he did seem to want to protect her...

The end, i think it was the end of their story, do i think it was the end of this series nooo, so i hope the next one is about a certain Theo...or i suppose Quinn, but Theo, wink wink, nudge nudge, yeah yeah? anyways my very last thoughts, if you are looking for a hot and heavy read, with a somewhat emerging-ly awesome plot, and fast paced read, then yes i think this is for you. if you don't want to read a whole hot... i mean lot of sexiness, then maybe not for you, it happens.

So blog. I have one. Isn't that nice? Yeah i thought you'd care but not that much XD hehe anyways if you want to check out my thoughts on other books, don't have a ton of this style up usually i end up doing reallll short reviews for these types of books but yeah anyways so here is the link: http://theviolethourbookreviews.wordp...

Raine Bowe, daughter of hippie parents, has been on her own since their death a few months prior. She finds herself on the run from unknown assailants while trying to figure out what has happened to her in the last week. Ryder Storm is alpha of his pack and known as a man who will do jobs for hire. When he meets Raine, she initially wants to hire him to kill her because she doesn’t understand what is happening to her.

From the first page Taiden grabbed my attention with a fast paced chase scene where Raine seems to be running for her life. We don’t get a lot of information about where she is running from and why she’s out in the middle of the night in a hospital gown but you want to learn more. I liked how the story unfolded for us as it did Raine. She isn’t familiar with shifters and their politics but learns as she goes.

Ryder is a sexy alpha male that sees Raine and knows immediately that he wants her. As he spends time with her he realizes that she is his mate but he doesn’t want to scare her off so he goes slow and lets her lead their relationship. I liked how he was the dominate but he would allow her to have enough control so that she didn’t get scared. When they get together they are extremely hot and light up the pages.

There are several secondary characters that are interesting too. There are a lot of ways this story could grow into a series that would be fun to read. I was a little disappointed that it was so short. The first half of the book seemed to be focused on sex, hot steamy sex awesome sex, while they characters basically ignored the fact that Raine was the product of an experiment and don’t make hardly any effort to find her captures. I would have liked there to be more page time focused on that rather than how Raine and Ryder can’t keep their hands off each other. I would have thought the shifters would be concerned that someone was out there making more shifters for kicks and giggles but they don’t seem all that worried. The story then shifts to mainly wondering what happened to Ryder’s missing cousin.

Overall I did enjoy the story and I would like to see if this becomes a series. As I mentioned there are a lot of interesting characters to draw from but I would like to see more story development as well as hot sex.

I’ve recently realized that while I love Milly’s Taiden’s work, it’s her shifter stories in particular that enjoy the most, and part of that realization comes from reading this book. I thoroughly enjoyed it, reading it one sitting.

I connected with Raine right away and definitely formed my opinions of Mr. Mad-Scientist-Psycho guy as cruel and deserving of a slow painful death by spider bite. I loved the alphaness of both Ryder and Raine and the fun dynamic it created between them. They are sexy as hell, yet endearing too. They have one of those insta-attraction things going on, but it makes sense and is totally believable.

I think the only things I really have to complain about is that Raine had a few stubborn moments that didn’t make sense to me. Why oh why would you not accept the company of your mate as protection when you know darn well that someone’s out to get you. Of course something could happen! Ahem…moving on. The passage of time wasn’t always easy to follow, but that’s really a minor issue that doesn’t derail you from enthrallment with the story.

Ultimately it was a sizzling story with a sweet ending, nice short, but action packed climax, and I am very much looking forward to more!

Exciting and mysterious, Wolf Fever will pull you in and not let go. With characters that will find a place in your heart, and quite possibly your fantasies, it’s an awesome read that I recommend any PNR fan to grab a copy!

Wolf Fever by Milly Taiden

This book was great. I liked/loved it at the same time.. The story was interesting, and i wished it was more pages. I went through
the book in a short time, and i never once lost my interest. It was a good read that i don't regret reading. 'Wolf Fever' was definitely worth my time. I did wish the book had more though.. Something was missing to make the book fantastic.. I seriously hope we get to read more about these two main characters.

I loved the characters. Raine Bowe, really strong, really special, and a got damn horny werewolf. Confused as hell in the start, but loses track of everything as soon as she lays her eyes her sexy, dangerous Ryder Storm. Raine was a great character, she was nice, thoughtful, and possessive when it came to Ryder. Ryder... damn that hot bad boy.. Strong, controlling, great alpha, and really caring for his pack. He's the perfect guy to fall for.. The passion between Raine and Ryder was hot, they got one hell of a sexual need, need for each other.

This book did really have it all. Action, easy to read, funny, dark and dangerous, mystery, sweet rough sex, sexy dominant aplha, and an independent female character. Looking forward to see if we can't get more of these to loverbirds...

You give me Fever ...

Loved this story! It was like I was transported into the book and was watching the story unfold before my eyes! Milly has done it again ... Gotten me hooked on another HOT shifter series! There is suspense, comedy, and hot shifter sex! And now a little about the story ...

Imagine waking up in an unknown facility naked under a hospital gown with IVs hooked up to you. This is what happened to Raine in our story. After pulling all the restraints holding her down and the IV connections out she makes her way past the guards and starts to run. She manages to get to a phone to call her best friend. Feeling uneasy about changes she feels in her body, especially aggression, she is not sure what to do. Once she is alone she starts to shift and decides she is a beast that needs to be put down. She finds the one hired gun she knows of Ryder Storm. He takes her down, but not how she had planned. Find out what happened to Raine and watch the sparks fly between her and Ryder until they ignite!

Favorite passage: Damn but the man was sexy. Not just the body, or the award-winning tongue, it was the way he carried himself. What he'd said was true. He was definitely the alpha. No other animal had that type of commanding presence.

I was given this book for an honest review.

So as usual let me start out with the characters. I did like them but I wish there was a little more development to them. There was more I wanted to know about them especially Ryder. Yes I get he was the super hot "Big Bad" but ummm how did he get to where he was in the pack and what about the pack lol? Sometimes I need to know more. And yeppers he was hot and all growly and tattooed but what else? Then there is Raine, I liked her. Poor girl was just served up a bad dish in life. Same as Ryder though I needed more info. Even through all the badness she did turn out to be all that and a bag of Beggin Strips.

The story itself was pretty good. A couple of editing mistakes here and there but nothing horrible. It was action all the way right from the start and I loved that. it had me hooked. It had a couple of spots that drug a little for me but it would quickly pick up. Sadly when the main plot came together it was a little predictable on who the bad guy was but you did still question what was gonna happen for a second. I would just like to point out that this book only increased my love of offices lol. Hot! Overall even though the characters were lacking I still liked them and the story was great and it kept me reading.

This book was fairly good...3.5 stars for me. I felt like it could have been made better with more of a story line to it. It had a pretty good one going, but I felt like it kind of fell to the background to the hot sex. That's right, HOT sex. Plus, HELLO - Did you see the cover? I swear to God I'm going to load it up to my Walmart.com site and have him blown up to life size, tape him to a pillow and sleep with him every night. I mean obviously I'll have to spend some $$$ getting copies made because it's totally going to end up torn and sticky each night, but, hey - that's the price for true love.
Anyway, the book had a pretty good shifter story line going. Not like any that I had read before, which is why I was disappointed that it wasn't more in depth. It was pretty unique. I really also liked the story how his cousin fit in toward the end with the heroine. This could have turned into a good menage. Mmmhmmm.....
Welp, that's all I have to say. Fairly good...maybe # 2 will be more exciting in the story because I could see this story being really fun to read with some more detail and drama played up in it.

I have been on a paranormal bender lately and shifters (esp. Wolves) are my poison. Sadly, this one was really disappointing. Lots of sex (with awkward, not even kind of sexy dirty talk) and very little plot. The book ends at 76% and I was surprised the author managed to make it that long.

Raine has a few TSTL moments that are entirely plot driven (if she thought like an intelligent person, the bad guys would be SOL). Ryder is less alpha and more Tarzan with tattoos. The entire cast of wolves were incapable of making even the smallest logical connections... you know someone is experimenting with turning people into shifters, multiple shifters go missing and nothing? Not even a "hey, what'd they use to make you a wolf?"

I gave the story two stars instead of one because 1. the free short story at the end actually had depth and 2. I think Quinn/Jessa having a past might make their eventual book more interesting... I might be clipping at straws. : (

I loves me some occasional paranormal erotica, but let's face it, a lot of it is just terribly written. Like this. Milly Taiden has a decent imagination, but she really needs help with her writing. Sentence structure is mediocre, characterization is bland and cliched, the pacing is awful (it's a novella and I got bored and read something else before finishing it), the sex scenes are predictable and too numerous (desensitizing your readers isn't good)...

I mean, at one point there's a car chase and "breaks squealed". Yeah.

I could go on, but I won't. Like I said, Milly Taiden has a decent imagination, and if you're just looking for something paranormal with lots of sex...and you're not really concerned about the quality of the writing...go for it. Otherwise, steer clear.

Milly Taiden writes hot sexy shifter stories and this is one of her best. Our heroine is a woman with the unfortunate name of Raine Bowe. She volunteered for a sleep study and got turned into an alpha werewolf. She escapes and looks to our hero Ryder Storm to kill her to prevent her from becoming a monster. The problem with that is Ryder is a werewolf himself and she is his mate. So it is up to him to convince her that being a werewolf and being with him wouldn’t be so bad. There is action, adventure and off the charts sex. A super fun read.

One of my favorite authors and she didn't let me down. This story was amazing. A woman scientifically turned into a wolf, who has no clue they even existed. The plot is heart pounding, sexy and definitely made me look twice at my toy drawer. The plot is great and easy to follow, and leaves me wondering if any of the other guys will have their own stories. It's a fantastic plot that has you begging for more!

Do you want a kick ass, take no guff, female lead? Do you want hot, steamy, sexiness? Are you looking for an intensely hot shifter book? Are you looking for a quick read that has plenty of sparks? Milly Taiden Delivers all this and more. The story starts fast and stays exciting the entire way through. Raine is quite possibly the luckiest woman on earth.... you will understand what i am talking about once you read this hotness. So.... read it already.

I needed a dose reading shapeshifter. Hence, I landed on this book. It was light and easy read in fast-paced. Romance was mild. Both hero (Ryder Storm, he's so yummy!) and heroine (Raine Bowe, her name is unique) are hot and they are crazily infatuated with each other. The mystery was interesting enough with some thrilling scenes. I liked side characters in this book. Only problem with this book is that it's too short.

Until then. Read on your own peril.

Just wow! The story hit the ground running and didn't stop until the last word. Shifter story with twists the reader will not see coming, lots of hot burn-the-sheets sex scenes and a happy ending. I could not ask for more. I can't wait for the next book in the series.
