Ross Joseph Kinnaird was born in the United States something like 1000 years ago. Moved to Italy when only an infant, he grew up in the deep south, shaped by the sun and the wildness of the sea. After moving to Ireland in 2010, he started to collect and collate the many stories he had written.

They all seemed to have one theme, one soul. With the Celtic magic brought to him by his new home, Ross had finally seen with the mistic eyes of the mind his novel taking shape. And so The Power of Love became the journey of a lifetime, perhaps many lifetimes.

In between reality and fantasy, he fused together the many way life presented to him. In a literary roller-coaster of emotions and feelings, pain, sorrow, happiness, friendship, love, Ross J. Kinnaird turns in writing the many stories we tell ourselves in our never-ending search for a greater meaning.

There is something seriously wrong with this book.

It's like it was written in a different language, then put through a very bad AI translator - and then no one bothered to read through it to see if it made any sense. The syntax was just wrong, and there were so, so many missing words. I understand books have to be translated, but at least review them before they are published, please.

And for the love of all that is holy - stop with the exclamation points!!!

There are a couple of good things - the story was actually very interesting and unique. The characters were good, except the same characters were used over and over in different personas. Maybe there was an explanation for that at the end of the book (lots of alternate universes with the same people?) but I kind of doubt it.

More bad - once we got to the "fantasy" part of the book, I felt like everything was a caricature/cartoon of every fairytale ever written.

What book were all these 5-star reviewers reading? The reviews oddly read basically the same, like the same person (or machine) was writing then, but substituting words here and there.

The reviewers seem to pull out a theme of 'there are different kinds of love'...different like an honest love between two people vs. the type of love where you flat-out lie to your long-term, serious partner, so you can be with someone else?

Not even sure I'll be able to finish the book. If I do, and it magically gets better, I'll be happy to revise my review.

This book, though marketed as a love story, really features a pretty innocent gay attraction arc only parenthetically, mostly in the beginning to almost completely lose it mid-story and before you spew out "woke" accusations I need to say there isn't really that much tokenism or virtue signaling in this department - the book really reads as a pretty trivial fantasy novel with quite rudimentary world building based upon one million worn out cliches and very simplistic plot, at the same time just featuring openly gay characters, but the latter does not bear much influence on the sequence of events.

Where this book paradoxically lacks the most is editing. This book would definitely benefit from some serious proofreading - at times it reads as though written by a nonnative speaker, or an awkward machine translation or something procured by AI - this book has notable amount of typos, recurrent mistakes in basic grammar and very awkward dialogues and introspection. Overall would score writing as okay/decent, even though it's rather basic and so is the character development which is mostly behaviorally unfolding through dialogue and observation.

Is this worth reading? Not really, definitely it's not a life-changing novel but the overall story, though sloppy and lazily written is actually quite sweet thus even though formally it's not a YA novel, I'd label it as such in terms of writing and world building advancement.

3/5

PS There is no porn in this book.
PSS This book is a first instalment of a trilogy that I'm not gonna follow.

Edit: I believe at least partly this book was powered by AI.

If you're into exciting stories that mix dreams, history, and special feelings, you'll love "The Power of Love: The One" by Ross J. Kinnaird. It's about a guy named Daniel who's close to turning 30 and starts having these wild daydreams and seeing things from a long time ago. With his friends and family helping, he goes on a big adventure.

I thought it was cool how the author makes the story feel real with all the dreams and connections. Daniel, Noah, and Anita, the main characters, have their own stories that fit together like a puzzle. The idea that love is an old god is awesome, like a secret power that got lost.

If you're into stories about love and mysteries with a touch of magic, you'll enjoy "The Power of Love." It's like daydreaming while you're reading and you won't want to stop.

I thought this book had potential, but it was all over the place! To keep myself from rambling, I have made a list of the things I liked and didn't like below:

Liked:
- The world we get brought into in the second half of the book was immersive and original
- The plot was very original and not at all predictable

Didn't like:
- I found it very hard to relate to/feel any story of attachment for most of the characters.
- The writing was... Odd. There were times it felt well written and other times I wondered about the author's grasp on the English language. I do recognize that I am American, and not everyone talks like me, but there were still things that were grammaticality incorrect/awkward.
- The dialogue. Oh, it was so terribly awkward and not at all realistic. The number of exclamation marks definitely didn't help.
- The pacing. I kept waiting for something to happen and it never really did. And then, at around 60%, boom! It was a struggle to make it that far and I wish that point in the story had come much, much, much sooner.

Part of me is curious where the story will go next, but I unfortunately don't have it in me to continue the series.

It felt as if it had been translated from another language too literally, and then not edited to read better in English.

The premise of this book seemed promising yet it lacked the execution. Events seemed to occur so quickly yet nothing happened in them.

The world building was non-existent and when you’re transported to another plane of existence with different races, that is a must.

On top of that, the perspective flips with no notice really confuses you. It felt a little rushed and not fleshed out enough.

In the ethereal realm of dreams, where reality merges with imagination, individuals are granted access to enigmatic and captivating experiences that defy explanation. Like mirages in a vast desert, these journeys leave an indelible mark upon their consciousness, lingering as vivid impressions even in the wake of dawn.

Within the tapestry of these remarkably realistic dreams, their minds fashion intricate worlds that rival the complexities of their waking reality. Enveloped in a sensory symphony, they traverse through lands unknown, encountering strangers who seem both vaguely familiar and entirely foreign. Emotions surge like tidal waves, and sensations grip them so tightly that they find it challenging to discern where the dream ends and reality begins.

Thus, in the book, ‘The Power of Love: The One’ by author Ross J. Kinnaird, we embark on an similar extraordinary journey alongside our main protagonist, who grapples with the unsettling transition from the dream realm back to the realm of wakefulness.

The stark difference between the two worlds unsettles Daniel, as he endeavors to reconcile the profundity of emotions and memories from his dreams with the awareness that they are the creation of his subconscious mind, or are they in fact true, is the question that remains to be seen.

Daniel's enigmatic companions, Anita and Noah, too, become entangled in this captivating adventure. As they traverse the mystical domain of Runae, their beliefs and convictions undergo profound metamorphosis. Each step they take, and every encounter they share, weaves a mesmerizing tapestry that binds them to this otherworldly realm, transforming them into individuals entirely distinct from their former selves.

It can be said that the narrative of the story unfurls like an entrancing switch between reality and illusion, blurring the lines between what is tangible and what resides solely within the depths of the mind. Hence, I am going to give this FIVE STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Decent story idea, had potential, but can't help but feel like this was two completely unrelated books that were merged together like Rachel's trifle in Friends. There was almost nothing that tied the first half of the book to the second half, which made me question why we spent 60% of the book getting to where it went. I also found the last 40% of the book felt very rushed. Everything happened all at once with no real detail or buildup... almost like the author was trying to cram 300 pages of story into 100 pages or less. I wish we'd been given more time to explore the fantasy aspects of the story.

Got this book last week. The cover had me interested and the plot seemed great (the main character has my same name so I thought that was a sign!). Now that I finished it, I understand why there is no much given away in the blurb or the synopsis! The story started slow but captured me to such deep level that I didn't care about what genre I was reading. I had to just get to the end. And there, the twist left me in shock.

It was right in front of me but the writing and the magic of this fantasy were all traps to keep me blind.

In simple words, this is a classical portal fantasy. But there is no really here and there or now and then. This is a new experimental way of high fantasy that I believe could fuel this series to a big future. I've already pre-ordered The Two. Can't wait for Xmas!

I tried to read this on 3 separate days. I got 19 pages in before I abandoned it.
Too much exposition at the beginning, I didn't have any connection with the character, and therefore I didn't care

Not for me.

In "The Power of Love: The One," Ross J. Kinnaird embarks on a mesmerizing journey through time and emotions, crafting a narrative that blurs the lines between reality and the mystical. As an ardent lover of literature, I often seek books that push the boundaries of creativity, and Kinnaird's debut entry into the world of high fantasy romance does just that.

At its core, this novel explores the universality of Love. It transcends boundaries of prejudice and bias, delivering a poignant message that resonates deeply in our divisive world.

"The Power of Love: The One" is an emotional rollercoaster. It evokes a wide range of feelings, from heartwarming joy to heart-wrenching sorrow, making it a truly immersive experience.

Kinnaird's greatest strength lies in his ability to create a world that feels both fantastical and intimately real. The characters' relatability and the profound themes explored make this book a standout in the genre. While the reverse narrative adds intrigue, it may confuse some readers initially. "I prefer living in the darkness of the future than exploring the certainty of my old sorrow."

The Power of Love: The One is a captivating high fantasy romance blending fantasy and drama to weave story full of magic. It's the first book in the series and a fantastic start to a new adventure.

The story starts with Daniel who is fast approaching his thirtieth birthday. His life changes forever as he starts experiencing vivid visions of an ancient past, of people and places he has never met before.Eventually he decides to find some answers and thus embarks on a new adventure. His path crosses with two more individuals; Noah and Anita. How are these individuals connected? Will they find the answers they seek?

The story explores the concept of the universality of Love and taking it to another level. Here, Love is not just an emotion or feeling. but an ancient god who has been lost and forgotten. Cursed by an evil spell, Love has been defeated and killed. Now the key
to saving the world and the entire universe lies in the secret power held by Love.

The story starts in the normal world but soon develops into an adventure with a magical world and different characters. The story portrays love not as an emotion but as a deity adding a new dimension to the story. As the narrative unlocks new world's through some imaginative world building, the readers are transported on a quest along with the protagonists.

The central characters are well crafted, each with a unique personality and voice. You bond with them over the course of the story; through their journey of self discovery through different realms. The writing is excellent throughout. The exploration of different worlds and consequences of actions is not easy to write but the author has achieved that with ease. What i loved most about the book is the unique concept and the way it was executed making it a unique read for me.

Overall, The Power of Love: The One is a magical fantasy exploring the power of love and the unique storyline makes it an unforgettable reading experience. A great read for fantasy fans.

Power of love: A journey through many lifetimes.

'It all began... When did it begin?'
Just before turning thirty, Daniel begins to experience vivid daydreams, visions of an ancient past, and connections with someone he has never met before. Moved by an unknown will and supported by his loved ones, he finds himself in the biggest adventure of his life.
The Power of Love: The One tells the journey of three characters who explore, navigate, and seek answers to mysterious events, eventually reaching humanity's greatest discovery: Love is not merely an emotion or feeling. Love is an ancient god who has been lost and forgotten. Cursed by an evil spell, Love lost his greatest battle against an ancient enemy and was seemingly defeated and killed.

The Power of Love, book 1/3 is a lot more than what it seems. I perceived it as a book about love, obviously and a love story, maybe. It actually is the story of 3 individuals Daniel, Noah, Anita and maybe John, too.

Do you believe your dreams? Have you felt your dream to be real when you wake up? Well Daniel, about to be 30, was having such dreams, even day dreaming where the difference between dreams and reality was slowly disappearing.

Amongst all his friends, someone takingaboug ghosts and others telling him to forget about them, the silent and observing Anita was the one who suggested him to let it be. Maybe someone or something is trying go connect, or come out or maybe his soul wants to say something. Whatever it is she said, let it pass through instead of blocking it.

What follows through was a totally different story, altogether. To remind you this is more than a love story but is a book about love in the actual sense. It has elements of fantasy, spirituality and time travel. The book ends on a beautiful note, the epilogue giving way to book 2 in the series.

"‘There are things that have been and are no longer, things that have never been, are waiting to be."-

The soul travels on a long journey while the body in destructive, the soul is timeless.

From the very first page, readers are transported into a world where destiny dances on the edges of time and love's true essence is unveiled. This is the first book I got to read by the Author and I really liked the way he narrates the book. Writing style of author is brilliant. I finished reading this book in just two sittings. I was not able to keep the book down and now I am eagerly waiting to read the second book. The plot is intriguing and unique. Author has given a whole new perspective to the concept of love.

The Power of Love: The One by Ross J. Kinnaird is the first installment in the Power of Love series and marks an impressive debut for the author. This novel is a sophisticated blend of fantasy and romance, offering a journey of love that spans many lifetimes. Unlike typical MM novels, Kinnaird's writing is deeply layered, with realistic characters and a complex storyline that gradually reveals new and exciting possibilities. Readers should be prepared for a marathon rather than a sprint, as this series avoids traditional resolutions.

Daniel, one of the main characters, experiences life-changing visions and dreams that lead him to uncover surprising truths about himself. His complicated love life takes a pivotal turn when he meets Noah, the man from his dreams who has been waiting for him. A birthday trip with his best friend sets the stage for this fateful meeting, propelling them into a new world in peril. Here, the trio must embrace their roles as heroes while navigating the challenges of returning home.

The three leading characters are exceptionally well-crafted, and the theme of love is explored in a raw and unfiltered manner. Kinnaird illustrates that love isn't black and white but a spectrum of endless colors and outcomes. While the storyline is beautiful and thought-provoking, the beginning of the novel felt a bit turbulent. For a 500+ page book, the initial pacing could have been smoother. Additionally, the introduction of fantasy elements in the second half might make readers feel like they're reading two separate books. However, the character development remains a strong point throughout.

As MFSB said, "Love is the message that I bring to you," and Kinnaird's debut novel certainly delivers this message in a compelling and unique way.

Additionally, the audiobook version of The Power of Love: The One is a fantastic experience. The narration brings the characters to life with distinct voices and emotive performances, enhancing the story's impact. It’s a great option for those who enjoy immersive storytelling.

📚 A wonderful story of love through many lifetimes.

Love is the most beautiful feeling a human can ever feel. It has the power to move mountains, break the sea and do the impossible, isn't it❓

‘The Power of Love : The One’ by Ross J. Kinnaird @ is one of the most intriguing tales about love at different times. The story follows lovable characters, twisting situations, but all they have in common is love and their choice not to give up till the end, which will blow your mind.

It's Daniel's 30th birthday. For a few days, Daniel had weird dreams. Though dreams, it all seems real. When he talks about it to his friends, they all advise him to ignore it. Out of everyone, Anita provides him with a helping hand and from that point their expedition starts. On their way to finding the clues, they meet Noah and it's so interesting to see what Daniel and Noah have in common.

It is the story of a couple madly in love whose souls still crave each other's presence. It's a journey of a couple who travel to the mountains to be together.

It's an amazing novel with spellbinding narration and mystical description. The characters are lovely and minutely carved, which seems like the author has given each character sufficient time to fly in its full colours. I liked Anita and Daniel's characters the most. John, too, did not miss capturing my attention throughout the story with his presence and work.

The story explores various themes like love, tragedy, ambition, hatred and more. There are various characters in the book across different timelines. Each character has its own share of story and choice which will shock you. What I liked most about this story is the flow of events. The arrangement of events does not bring any dull moment in the story.

If you like reading classic fantasy fiction with a blend of past lives, you should read this book.

"It all began... When did it begin?" The narrative intricately connects the lives of three protagonists: Daniel, Noah, and Anita, as they find themselves drawn into a cosmic adventure that transcends the boundaries of time and space.

As Daniel approaches his thirtieth year, he becomes ensnared in vivid daydreams and inexplicable visions that link him to an ancient past. Propelled by a mysterious force, these connections compel him on a quest for understanding and truth

At the core of "The Power of Love: The One" lies a brilliant premise: love isn't just an emotion but a forgotten ancient god. Trapped by a malevolent curse, Love faces a formidable adversary and is believed to have been defeated. Kinnaird deftly unravels this enthralling narrative, guiding characters and readers through a spellbinding revelation. As the trio delves further into the unknown, the story gradually assembles a mosaic that spans dimensions and time.

As the trio embarks on their journey, readers become invested not only in their quest but also in their personal growth and transformation.

The multifaceted nature of love takes center stage, illuminating its myriad forms - from romantic to platonic, and the universal love that binds humanity. The novel thoughtfully explores the concept that, in the eyes of Love, all are unified. This theme of interconnectedness resonates profoundly, prompting readers to reflect on their own relationships and bonds.

. It introduces a world where the power of love is both tangible and transcendental, where the line between reality and myth becomes blurred. Beyond its engaging narrative, the novel reminds us that love, in all its variations, possesses the capacity to mend and transform even the most fractured realms.

The Power of Love: The One" delves into the depths of love and the genuine power of it. This novel takes readers on a mysterious journey that culminates in the discovery of love.

The protagonist of the novel is Daniel, who just before reaching thirty starts to have vivid daydreams and images of an unknowable past. His interactions with this stranger as a result of these visions propel him into a life-altering journey. Daniel sets out on a mission to learn the truth about these enigmatic happenings with the help of his loved ones.

Daniel discovers himself delving deeper into the idea of love as the plot develops. In the novel, two new characters named Noah and Anita join him in his search for solutions. They work together to piece together the puzzle's broken pieces in order to uncover the ultimate truth about love.

The book's narrative is expertly woven throughout by the author. Each character in the novel has a distinct perspective and voice, and they are all well-developed. The reader is effortlessly drawn into Daniel, Noah, and Anita's world and shares in their successes, setbacks, and awakenings.

For me, this book stands out for its portrayal of love as an empowering force rather than merely a fleeting emotion. The story is unique and engaging because of the mystical element that is added to the concept of love.

The story deftly incorporates the themes of self-discovery, fate, and the strength of human ties, giving the narrative a deeper level of meaning. For those who appreciate enthralling and thought-provoking stories, "The Power of Love: The One" is a must-read

Supported by loved ones, Daniel embarks on an unparalleled adventure, crossing paths with Noah and Anita, intertwining their destinies.

The author’s storytelling prowess crafts a tapestry of mysticism, fantasy, and human sentiment, where Daniel's introspective journey echoes universally. What I liked about this book was the fluid boundary created between reality and fantasy, which is masterfully portrayed through Daniel's vivid daydreams. The characters of Noah and Anita contributed to enriching the narrative tapestry.

The novel's standout premise presents love as a forgotten ancient deity ensnared by a dark curse. This concept prompts a profound reevaluation of love's nature, adding depth to the book's allure. I found Kinnaird's writing, both enchanting and contemplative, navigates intricate narrative threads.
