Now established on the throne and safe from outside threats, the stress of a lifetime of combat and the domestic affairs of palace life begin to take their toll on David. Set against the backdrop of the epic battle and siege of Ammon, Benaiah and the Mighty Men must summon all of their courage to withstand the assault–especially when it comes from their own king.
Intense battle and glory. I was there beside David as he battled lions, bears, and God's enemies. My heart breaks as I know what is coming for David and Uriah, but I love how Cliff Graham has made Scripture and the people within come to life.
It isn't often that a story breathes itself into my heart, but this one does. I highly recommend this gripping novel that is nearly impossible to put down!
It has been a while since i read the previous books, but this felt in the same vein from what I remember. I'm not the biggest fan of this author for his personal choices, but I will say I enjoy the stories he tells.
