Rate this book
Not since Terry McMillan’s ‘Waiting To Exhale,’ has a book been so raw, gritty and honest about love, loss, family, relationships, acceptance and trust and put a voice to the collective frustration felt by millions of people looking for love in all the wrong places… Stories I Wouldn’t Tell Nobody But God,’ the long awaited, debut novel by Rasheed Clark, is an emotionally charged, provocative and page turning story of four friends, Sista, Brian, Day and Nikki and the rollercoaster ride that they call their lives… Sista, who will lose the only man she ever loved, as she allows her weight to determine her self worth. Brian, who learned the hard way that a good woman isn’t hard to find, he just has to be man enough to keep her. Day, who must learn to accept himself for who and what he is. Nikki, whose perfect world is shattered when she loved a man more than she loved herself and it almost cost her, her life, because of her man’s infidelity and lies. Powerfully told, heartwarming and funny, ‘Nobody But God’ will leave you wanting more. ‘Stories I Wouldn’t Tell Nobody But God,’ because there are many things, many people tend to keep to themselves, out of fear nobody but God will understand…

What are friends for?!?!

Admit it, we all have them. Me. And yes, you! We all have secrets. We've all done and/or said things we wouldn't tell anybody but God out of fear nobody would understand. Author Rasheed Clark gathered up a few, mixed them together and created his debut novel. In a "telling it like it is, hold no punches" manner, Rasheed chronicles the drama filled lives of four best friends, Brian, Sista, Nikki and Day. They don't realize how much they need each other until tragedy strikes. This novel will make you laugh, cry and sure enough agree with everything these characters have to say. Mr. Clark covers every angle by dealing with relatable issues of love, death, and every day going-ons.

Stories I Wouldn’t Tell Nobody But God by Rasheed Clark is a powerful, honest look at love, loss, and self-acceptance. Through the lives of Sista, Brian, Day, and Nikki, Clark captures the real struggles of people learning to love themselves and others despite pain and mistakes. The story is raw, emotional, and beautifully told, filled with faith, humor, and truth. It’s the kind of book that stays with you long after the last page.

Oh My Gosh, Oh My Gosh!

Everybody has a story they'd rather keep between themselves and God, because, let's face it, man just can't or won't understand all the time. In STORIES I WOULDN'T TELL NOBODY BUT GOD. we get an in-depth look at how keeping things to yourself can sometimes keep you away from what you desire most. Rasheed Clark brought to life the lives of four very close friends as they come to terms with some of their hidden fears. Rasheed Clark has produced an emotionally gripping page-turner about the life of a family in Philadelphia. Through each character, he introduces deep revelations about love, looking for love, death, trust, friendships and family. And yes, there were many characters in this book and some came from different backgrounds; however, when Mr. Clark was done, they were all family. I loved how he molded each of the main characters, and a few secondary ones, with deep issues into a person with a message and then intertwined them into one huge story that had me reflecting on my life and personal relationships and my interactions with my parents and siblings. He reduced me to tears not just for the sad parts, but also for the joy at finding love amidst all the misery.
