Masters of My Desire

Rate this book
Plowing into Bambi and totaling my SUV wasn't the way I envisioned starting my vacation. Then again, neither was being rescued by two gorgeous men. Nick Masters and Dylan Thomas swooped in to save me from the wreck. They weren't just knights in a shining truck, but Dominants so potent the submissive hidden inside me clawed to kneel at their feet. To my surprise, they offered to teach me the joys of submission. I shoved down my fears and agreed to spend one glorious week of pleasure under their hand, at the center of their raw passion. With each command and touch, they bared my soul and stole my heart. With them, I felt like a beautiful-if kinky-Cinderella. But all too soon, the clock struck midnight, and I fled... Returning to my lackluster life, I was determined to somehow survive without the masters of my desire. I never imagined they would travel a few hundred miles to hunt me down. Could I say yes when they offered to bestow something on me far more beautiful than a glass slipper?

*Left me unsatisfied*
August 4, 2019
Format: Kindle Edition
First of all, let me bitch about something: it’s an absolute mystery to me why this book isn’t better edited! Typos, inconsistencies, confused words, grammar and spelling- you name it and I found it!
Now I know the feeling a schoolteacher must have - “where did I leave my red pen?” - and instead of marking interesting thoughts, hot paragraphs or nice quotes, I marked errors!
Okay, that of my chest: let’s review the book 😉

The story is okay and so are the characters, although the heroine drove me nuts with her insecurities. I never really felt the chemistry between the MCs. The way the author glossed over Mika’s and Julianna’s story left me unsatisfied and I didn’t get why she felt the need to put it into this book.

Basically, it felt like I was beta reading a manuscript instead of reading a finished book by a bestselling author.
IMO 2.5 stars, still debating if I should round it up or down.

Really good 2nd book in the series . . .

Savannah is super insecure & I feel that that could have been played upon more - the nerdy girl that has one had sex 2x. It could have been more expanded on how her 2 Domms could have helped her thru it instead of being just "I don't like to be naked".

At the end, we revisit the characters from the 1st book and it is odd that this book is more parallel to the first so we get Mika & Emerald's story in short revisit thru friends eyes.

"It's not the body that makes the submissive, but rather what's inside their heart. That's where the true beauty lies."

Masters of my Desire by Jenna Jacob was a delicious, sexy, kinky treat that I couldn't get enough of. Jenna had me at "Master Masters." Woohoo! Here we go, back to Genesis, where everybody knows your kink. Back to sexy, scary, alpha Doms....back to bratty submissives....back to family. I fell in love with Genesis and its members back in Embracing my Submission, book 1 in the Doms of Genesis series. Jenna has created this world full of wonder and hope, where a submissive can truly submit without losing themselves, and a Dom can forget his past and focus solely on his/their submissive. Genesis is a place where a Dom/Domme/Top/Submissive can start to heal and grow, a place where they can feel SAFE.

"Much like the vanilla world, we're all puzzle pieces. And when you finally find the one that's a perfect fit for you, nothing else matters."

The main characters in this story were amazing to me. Each one unique, complex and of course had a not so fantastic past they were trying to get over, or trying to run away from. A great romance wouldn't be complete without its very own character with a broken past, am I right? I thought so. Anyway, first we have Savannah Carson, a closet submissive who, of course, reads about BDSM, but never thought to break out of her shell to try it for real. Savannah, or Sanna, lost her parents when she was 16 and her sister Mellie was her rock. Being afraid to love someone, just to have them leave her is a big trigger for Savannah, something she has yet to get over. Next we have Nick Masters, with his gorgeous Native American looks, and his pure wave of dominance that you can spot from a mile away. He just oozes UBER DOM to me and the way he says, "little one" and "good girl" MY GOD, he just sends shivers down my spine. Nick's ugly past consists of a BITCH of an ex-wife who will stop at nothing to try to squeeze every penny from him. Finally, we have Nick's best friend since first grade Dylan Thomas. Dylan with his amazing blue eyes and playful banter was a sniper in the Marines and had witnessed some pretty horrible things while on tour, some things that just stick with a man for years and years. Apart these three are lost, broken, and slivered. Together they are more than they can ever imagine they could be, they are complete.

"These two incredible men had severed the chains that held me prisoner to a muted existence. Peeled away the beige and cast me into a rainbow of colors. They'd brought me to life. I would never be the same woman again."

Masters of my Desire pulled so many emotions from me, it was exhausting. I was smiling and laughing one minute, and the next I was a sobbing mess with tissues surrounding my bed. Damn you Jenna Jacob for making me cry! Damn you for making me fall in love with these characters! And THANK YOU for pulling me in to this world. This world full of love, lust, and intrigue. THANK YOU for creating such a powerful connection with these characters and their lives. I highly recommend Masters of my Desire for those of you who thought all was lost. All is NOT lost! You will find someone that will help you heal, will help you grow, will help you become the person you were meant to be. For those of you that find TWO someones, well the more the merrier, right?

"They'd brought my yearnings bubbling to the surface and with it a strange feeling of being whole. And while I couldn't quite wrap my head around it, I knew I'd been bestowed with a precious gift...their Dominance."

Review for Masters of My Desire by Jenna Jacob

Masters of My Desire is book two in The Doms of Genesis series by Jenna Jacob. This book follows Sir Dylan and Sir Nick as they introduce Savannah into the BDSM lifestyle.

Honestly, I’m struggling with writing this review… first off I want to express that the storyline of this book is a solid insta-love romance with mild BDSM content. Yes, Savannah is made to call Nick and Dylan Sir and/or Master and they do call her a whole variety of subbie nicknames (pet, little one, princess, kitten… just to name a few) she is told what to do and ‘punished’ when she’s disobedient, but I never got the overall Dominance/submission feel from these characters. Instead of the hardcore lifestylers that Nick and Dylan were portrayed to be I really just found them a couple of kinky guys that like to DP and sometimes boss someone around.

I actually enjoyed the book when I stopped thinking of it as a BDSM story — I liked all the characters and even though Savannah was a wishy washy brat at times I got that she had a rough past and had several walls that needed to be breached for her to get to where she needed to be in her relationship with the men.

The men, Nick and Dylan, started out with really strong personalities that were completely separate, but as the book wore on I no longer could distinguish the voices of them separately and even after looking back through my notes I can’t even tell you who is who. One of them is a war veteran and the other owns a construction company… anywho it became a bit tedious trying to keep up with which hero I was reading. It would have been really nice if their personalities would have continued along the same vein as they started out as. They had the whole good cop, bad cop thing going and that was h o t!

Overall I give the book 3 stars, the author used a lot of effort in creating a verbose storyline to keep the reader on their toes, it just fell a little flat for me personally. I give it 3 wet panties for the smut, while the terminology sometimes shocked me it still had menage and well, that’s hot right?

I really shouldn't have bought this as it has completely blown my planned budget (that is I can purchase 1 eboook book each weekend... that's it) But I confess that when I saw this was available I couldn't wait the 24 hours until Saturday.

I adored the previous book in this series Embracing My Submission, it just grabbed me, tore away any pretense of control over my emtions and made itself an essential entry on my 'must reread ... regularly' list.

This didn't not disappoint in the least. Finishing this I've got tears in my eyes and I'm glad of it (and as such it gets my 4 star rating)

This is the 2nd book in The Dom's of Genesis series & I loved it. This series is getting better & better!!! :)

I love Savannah (the nerd), Nick (totally Alpha male) & Dylan (Alpha, but not as Alpha as Nick) together. I love how Jenna brought the readers back to the beginning of how the 3 of them met, the struggles that each of them face trying to be together, while facing issues of their own & how finally love really does make it all worth while. I wouldn't mind being in the middle of these 2!! ;)

I loved how Jenna moved through their story, but also included people & situations ( I will not say in this review, just in case) that happened in the 1st book. I did get a little misty at the end.

This is a series that should not be missed. You will not be disappointed!!

Masters Of My Desire was as good as first book in this Series. Be honest. What hot blooded girl hasn't fantasized about 2 guys. Her training and submission helped her become a confident woman with the help of her 2 Masters. Loved this book and look forward to reading the next in this series.

*I received a free copy to read & review or Wicked Reads*

This book was the 2nd in the Doms of Genesis series, it can be read as a stand alone, although there is some building upon the first book.
Savannah is a natural submissive, she's not in the lifestyle but has read enough to pique her interest. While driving to her annual get-a-way, to meet her sister, she hits a deer on a rural road and totals her vehicle. Stranded on the side of the road with no phone service, she's considering her options until 2 concerned men stop to help her - and thus our story begins!
Nick and Dylan are HOT, they're dominant, and they've been searching for the right woman. When they realize that they're all staying at the same hotel - things really steam up.
They guys help Savannah become comfortable with herself, and she teaches them to open up their hearts.
As with the first book, I enjoyed all the characters.
I do want to mention that many of the erotic scenes while steamy, were written oddly - I understand there are only so many ways to describe sex, but some of the words were either incorrectly used, or took away from emotions that should've been felt. (special note: turgid is NOT a sexy word.)
I enjoyed the menage aspect, I was excited to read more about Emerald, and I am excited to read the next book - like I said, I really like these characters.

This book is the second book in a series, a stand-alone but it references the first book without much explanation. This is a BDSM book. It you don't like the Master/ slave relationship, this book is not for you.

I was intrigued with the idea of two Doms (one's an Alpha Dom) and a submissive named Savannah, who has not explored the lifestyle or her sexuality in general...she is seriously inexperienced but not a virgin. The Doms, Nick and Dylan, are searching for the "one" they can share forever. Savannah is rescued by them after a car wreck and they immediately zero in on her submissive tendencies and begin to train her. For me, things happened too fast. She was inexperienced and then dives into sex with two men, who are Doms. There is insta- love, which I did not like.

The characters were somewhat underdeveloped, especially Dylan, who I liked better than Nick. I would have liked more scenes with Dylan, a war vet, who was dealing with darkness by covering it with humor. There were no scenes where Savannah was with only one Dom, it was always both. We did not get to see her get to know them individually. The ménage aspect was intriguing, but the word "turgid" was overused. I will never look at clothes pins the same way again, just saying....

There was also the tendency by the author to use big words to describe a scene, making it awkward because the words were not always used correctly. The ending was rushed and felt more like an epilogue for Julianna and Mika - characters from the first book. Overall, an ok read.

"I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads."

This is the second in the series, and whilst you don't need to read 'Embracing My Submission' first, it would make certain relationships clearer.

The story starts away from the Club, but the topic of D/s is there from the beginning. I really enjoyed the story; I liked seeing familiar characters in different settings - although it made me even more angry on Julianna's behalf ... ; and the relationship was H O T. However, the writing style was infuriating. Where a simple well known word would have been perfect, an incorrect one was plucked from the thesaurus to replace it. I am a very fast reader, but had to keep stopping to work out was really was meant. In places it was amusing, but mostly it spoiled the flow of the story.

So, I do think it is a worthwhile read, as it forms a key part of the series, but don't let the language stop you from enjoying the story itself.

Reread review:
I loved this just as much, if not more, the second time around!!! I don't know why this is my favorite of the ones I've read in the series, but it is. Savannah and Dylan and Nick are just perfect together!

Original review:
So far I love this series. The characters are so real, and their emotions are potently projected off the page. I wish we could have learned more about Nick and Dylan's pasts, but the little taste serves to move the plot along.

Towards the end, there is almost a full chapter that coincides with events in the first book, Embracing My Submission, making that part of the book a bit redundant. But it ends on a high note, bringing the story back to focus on its main characters.

I really like how the author expresses the fears and emotions of Savannah and other subs in this series, making their journeys relatable.

This book was "Smokin" Nerdy Loner girl meets Two YES Two Smokin hot men after she accidently hits bambi in a freak snow storm.... Nick and Dylan notice her submissive side instantly as she tries like Hell to hide it....I could tell you all the AWESOME details of this book but that would just ruin it for you...... I will say there will be laughter, anger, fear, tears, joy and LOVE.....as always Jenna Jacob does NOT disappoint!!!! She knocked this book out of the park!!!! I Love her work and can't wait to see what she has in store for Leah!!!!

Thank you Ms. Jacob for another fantastic book. I have to tell you I fell for Nick and Dylan from the start. There strength and patience was amazing. Their punishments made me squirm in my seat. Savanna drove me nuts throughout the book but I loved her willingness to try and overcome her fears. I look forward to the next installment from the Doms of Genesis.

This is the second book in this series and I recommend they be read in order. Savannah is on her way to have a sister’s getaway when she plows into a deer and wrecks her car. Dylan and Nick come to her rescue. She has read enough about BDSM and the names they keep calling her spark her interest. The way the act and treat her make her almost sure they are Doms, both of them. The way they act make her submissive want to come out and play. The guys can tell Savannah is submission and agree to teach her while they are there on vacation. The more to interacts with these men the more she wants from them. She dreams about a future with them. But she doesn’t believe that she can have that future. That Nick and Dylan would want something more with her. She isn’t a trained submissive, could she give them both what they need. She is insecure in a lot of ways. Keeping all these fears to herself instead of the guys make her run. Will the guys let her go that easily or will the chase her down? This is such an amazing book. Savannah is just an average woman. She worries that these two amazingly hot Doms won’t want her the way she wants them. Nick and Dylan both have their own issues. Not only does Savannah have issues to work through the guys do as well. Once again Jenna kept me sucked in from the beginning. So much happens in this book. It has less danger than the first but just as much steam and romance. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

***WARNING*** This is a review of ALL FOUR books that are out in the series so far***

I'd like to start off by saying...WOW. Jenna Jacob knows BDSM and knows it well. There are so many BDSM books out there at the moment. I’ve
read quite a few and I have to say that this series completely blew me away. The
author combines wicked hot sex with the perfect amount of suspense to create an
intense look into the lives of several couples at Club Genesis. I believe this
is how BDSM should be portrayed…with a healthy exchange of power between
partners. The relationships between these subs and their Doms are absolutely
beautiful. Obviously, they aren’t perfect…but that's just it: I love how each couple grows and
overcomes their issues. That is what sets this series apart from other books
in this genre.

I'm going to do this review a little different. I'm going to give you a couple things I liked/disliked about each book in the series and then share a teaser containing my favorite quote from each...

What intrigued me the most about this book was the dynamic of Club Genesis and the relationships between all of the characters. They're like one big freaky family and I love it!

In Embracing My Submission, Emerald and Mika had me so wrapped up in their world I never wanted to leave. The sex was intense and the passion between these two had me on the edge of my seat! The only issue I had was a bit of confusion about the "dreams" Emerald was having. I found myself checking to see whether or not this book had paranormal elements. Once the reason behind them was revealed and my questions were answered...I literally melted. Overall, this was a fantastic start to an incredible series.

*5 stars*

Holy Hot Menage!

Nick Masters and Dylan Thomas are two Doms with extremely different personalities. Together they make the perfect Dom for Savannah Carson. These boys are honestly my favorite characters out of the whole series! There wasn't a thing I didn't enjoy about their story.

*5 stars*

Master of My Mind was honestly a bit of a tear jerker for me from the very beginning. Leagh's story was an emotional roller coaster. She had so many things thrown at her, one after another. That's what I loved most about this story: the fact that the heroine was such a strong character despite so many people in her life trying to bring her down. The only issue I had was with the hero, Tony. I couldn't quite connect with him as an individual. I did feel the connection between Tony and Leagh as a couple though.

*4 stars*

Saving My Submission is Mellie's story She's Savannah's sister from book two. This chick is hell on wheels! She's a fiesty little sub that gives Dom, Joshua Lars, a run for his money. This story was packed with drama and suspense. It was so different from the first three books. Mellie fights her submission every step of the way and lands herself in some hot water.

I absolutely loved the banter between these two and the struggle the big, bad Dom has with taming Mellie's attitude and helping her find herself.

I felt like the conclusion was a bit rushed, which is why I didn't give it 5 stars. Other than that I enjoyed the direction the author took and I can't wait to read the next book.

*4.5 stars*

***4.6 STARS OVERALL FOR THE FIRST 4 BOOKS IN THE SERIES***

Metalkarin had a review and I added a comment there which I wish I had put here. I did not finish it and returned, and hoped book 1 one was a fluke of bed Doms but no such luck. Genesis Doms are clueless and manipulate subs and slaves they haven't even negotiated with yet. I totally became uninterested when they had known her a few seconds and started using pet names and ordering her around because a single look in the eye said she was submissive. How about she was in shock from an accident? Then they threaten to wash her mouth out with soap because she's angry 2 strangers undressed her while she was unconscious. Training begins while she's is recovering and that's when I realized that this entire club houses deals in dubious intent and they are domineering, not Dominant. Controlling, not commanding. I didn't make it to one spank scene or sex scene because consent, safe, sane, and respect had already been left out in the snowbanks of the storm they were stuck in.

Me despido.

WOW...I read some of the other reviews and I have to say they were pretty brutal. I enjoyed this book and my copy was well edited. The book is well written. This isn't a book for everyone especially if your not in to BDSM and Ménage stories. This isn't a quick easy read but is a good story. I would encourage everyone who likes these two genre's to get this one. Give it a chance. The characters had human qualities. I don't do spoilers so get the book and give it a chance!!

The second book in the series, but it can be read as a stand alone. It is the story about Nick, Dylan and Savannah. I wouldn’t mind getting caught in a snowstorm with two hunky Doms.

What I loved about this story is how it portrayed Savannah fears and insecurities and how slowly she lets the walls she built around her heart crumple.

Dylan Nick e Samanta

This author definitely owns a thesaurus. Side note: thesaurus.com notes that two synonyms for 'verbose' are 'tedious' and 'tortuous' and a synonym for 'grandiloquent' is 'pompous'. Make of that what you will.
