This manga is just heartbreaking, but the storyline is something!

It's a combination of clever and cruel storytelling.

I did not expect that way; that is why they won.

Another mixed volume in this uneven series. The first half is pretty good as the confrontation against the King of Clubs involving the main characters has some real ramifications. But the second half introduces 20 new characters for a new game that might be interesting if it involved anyone I cared about. As it is, the deaths are fast and meaningless and fairly boring. And unfortunately this game continues over to the next volume, so I'm not particularly eager to grab that book right now.

This arc was much better in the live action series. Impressed with what Netflix did to the manga series. Kyuma is the best.

Volume 6 was a real page turner. Once I picked it up I could not put it down, I didn't want to put it down. Can't wait for volume 7!!

I cannot get enough of this series. Even though I’ve seen the tv show and know what’s coming next… it’s just SO GOOD

Arisu and Usagi are everything<3

Kinda sad the original novel version doesn’t have Chishiya in the Jack of hearts game!! Would have loved to have seen him there.

Now to wait for volume 7…

Not as bad as the last one, but subpar for the same reasons. This series has really fallen off :/

Again, this was a volume I really enjoyed. This manga continues with the game of the King of Clubs, a team game. However, as soon became clear, not everyone is suitable as a team player. I need to admit I really enjoyed reading about this game and the character developments. I also like the differences with the Netflix adaptation.

Furthermore, we follow the Jack of Hearts, a game about betrayal. It becomes immediately clear that you can trust no one, and therefore, this was such a thrilling read. I'm very curious how everything will continue in the next volume.

As always, I also enjoyed the background stories about both the main characters and the side characters. It really made me understand their decisions and thoughts more.

So again, this was a thrilling read with beautiful artwork. I can't wait for volume 8 to be translated!

I know it's all a part of the game, but the fact that multiple new characters are introduced each volume makes it much more difficult to keep track of who's doing what. I'm interested to see where the psychological game goes for the next volume, but so far it's pretty basic in showing how people will turn on others to save themselves.

3.5*

Reading these in such quick succession is not making it easy to write reviews. I’m feeling the same things I’ve felt for the previous installments. I’m invested in the games, whether they follow the main characters or not. However, some of the games are feeling drawn out when they’re as split up as some of them are. I also feel like the character development happens pretty quickly. I’m wondering how things will compare when I watch the show.

I’m excited to see where Solitary Confinement goes in Volume 7. I definitely have my theory about how the Jack of Hearts is.

Oh boy, the face cards are brutal...
The King of Clubs game ended with me crying, as did the live action adaptation... If you know, you know.
I am enjoying The Jack of Hearts game, it is slightly different to how they adapted it to screen, but enjoying it nonetheless... The bloody carnage!
I'm very intrigued to what else has been tweaked for the show version of this series.
I am still very sad that this binge is coming to an end soon!
Time to move onto the next volume...

Now that I’m finally reading the manga after loving the show for a while I finally came to the book where the character I found comfort in right away while watching the series didn’t make it, I knew it would probably happen in this book because of how the 5th book ended but still it hurt, I love Kodai Tatta so so much. ❤️‍🩹

[Alice in Borderland - Vol. 6 → ☆☆☆.5]

Tatta😭😭😭

My heart is broken!

The romance really is way better in the manga compared to the awkwardness in the show that makes me laugh, and Arisu's back story is so much worst!

The Jack of hearts game was thrilling! Since it was very different from the netflix adaptation it got me playing along and falling in my bets hahaha, very interesting and well thought!

The moral dilemma situations are masterful, but I feel like there is too much sexual content that it distracts from me connecting to the characters- I just feel so disgusted each time by human nature when I read this series 😅😅😭
