Review to follow. I loved this (mild) Loving Dom/ (very)willing sub story which left me breathless and wanting more each time I had to put it down:) so much so that I've bought a copy!! Hot and I mean panty dropping hot (to steal an apt phrase from Holly R). I need to pen a review which conveys just how good the Dom/sub action in this story is, and yes it is a Blaze and I think thats maybe why not many people have read it. You really need to appriciate this story and love the things Kane demands of Fallon to get the most from this book.....read it as just another contemporary romance, and beauty of it is lost.
Right review......
This is a SciFi time travel story involving Kane (Time Cop and gorgeous to boot and a Dom) and Fallon (wealthy business woman who has become somewhat overtaken with her obligations) who are thrown unwitingly together when Kane travels back in time to recover some stolen technology. Inseperable until Kanes mission is complete he decides to offer Fallon an experience she can't really refuse, all she knows is the fantasy he's offering is completely on his terms everything is relinquished to him. And that is exactly what happens, Kane has an exciting arsenal of toys to pleasure and tease Fallon and whilst he is never cruel boy does he know how to tease:) alot of time is spent building Fallon up only to bring her down very gently. I loved the way Kane instructed Fallon and corrected her when she gave the wrong answer/reaction this all helped with the sexual emotion (note not tension) which boiled (leaving me breathless) throughout the whole story. There were lots of nice little touches to Kane and Fallons story including very mild bondage , exhibitionism (tackled in a wicked but subtle way) and the use of toys. But it's the way Kane lavishes his control on Fallon that really made the story for me.
The plot of the story is crucial b/c Kanes time here is limited and since neither can be in each others time frame this all adds to the way in which Kane and Fallon pleasure each other. So the big question is ~ if they can't be in each others time frame is there a HEA? and the answer? Of course!!
A really nice Dom/sub story with lots of hot kinky things going, a pleasure to read.
I never really connected to the characters in this story and some parts didn't make a lot of sense. The love scenes weren't quite to my taste either. I also felt the story had a few too many similarities to the much better Jane's Walord by Angela Knight.
This was my second Blaze. The first one was by Jo Leigh called Blush and was no different from any other category title. That said, Beyond The Edge was way beyond what I was expecting! Can't say I liked it even though it was a sci-fi romance, one of my fav genres. Why? Because the alien-hero made the heroine wear a clit ring with a chain attached. I mean, OUCH!
