Change: Realizing Your Greatest Potential

Rate this book
Change is inevitable. Both personally and globally, change drives our lives. Despite the new opportunities change can bring, many of us resist and fear it, even as we long for a healthier lifestyle or agree we need a more sustainable culture.

Realizing Your Greatest Potential turns this unavoidable condition of life from something fearsome to something empowering by revealing a new perspective on reality. The way we were taught to think of the world is not the way it really is. We are not a mosaic of separate beings in competition for resources. Instead, each of us is an integral part of a whole that encompasses all creation.

We are an intrinsic driver behind the force of change. As such, our creative potential is limitless. That potential comes from what author Ilchi Lee discovered over the course of his inner explorations that each of us has a beautiful mind that desires to benefit all beings. This inherent nature is our true greatness and the true power to solidify the changes we envision in our personal lives and the world.

Change is urgently needed; the current course of our civilization is no longer tenable. But major changes are not feasible, Lee says, unless we begin with changing ourselves. He says we can start a big change, no matter how daunting it is, with changing our personal attitudes and energy. Change tells you how.

From a young age, I struggled to find the answers to what I think of are life's fundamental questions: Who am I? and Why am I alive? I found those answers for myself after much study and circumspection, culminating in strict fasting and meditation on top of Moak Mountain in South Korea more than 30 years ago.

What I discovered opened up a new life and a new world for me. Since then, I've sought to find ways to help others answer those questions for themselves, and live healthier, happier, and more fulfilling lives as a result. All of my work is focused on developing methods for this and sharing them with as many people as possible. I believe when enough people know their true nature and purpose and are empowered to live by it, the world will become a place of dreams; heaven will be expressed on earth.

This is the purpose and content of all of my books. I hope they enrich your life by reading them.

Ilchi Lee gave me an opportunity to contemplate about death. I feel more grateful and less fearful toward my future death. I didn’t want to think about it most of the time, but I know that I can see it from a very different point of view. After all, I will die anyway, so it should not be a subject that I want to avoid to think about. I observed myself and found out that living my everyday life having death in my mind—preparing for my death—makes me more humble and grateful. It is because at the last moment of my life, I want to feel complete.

I read this book slowly, because it made me think about what reality really is and my role in it. I think this book would be great for discussion. On the outside, it looks like your typical self-help title, but on the inside there is an amazing spirit and sense of hope. I would really like to recommend it to people and hear what they think.

What an inspiring read. Ilchi Lee easily covers the essence of our human existence and the need for change on many levels from the individual to the macro view of our world. We have lived in a material society which has served the needs of humanity for thousands of years. But now as we continue to see the type of violence unleashed in our schools and around the world, the poverty and starvation experienced by thousands each day while obesity increases in parts of the world as a sense of a lack of hope by many seemingly grows each day, isn't now the time for Change? Lee thinks so.

I've read the book "Change" several times and each time I find something that hits home for me. I am about to read it again. It's a great read and causes one to contemplate living.

This book is meant to be a companion to a documentary film, but I believe it stands well on its own. It is a great exploration of consciousness, conscience and human development. Whether you approach it from a spiritual, ethical or philosophical standpoint you cannot disagree that our world is changing and being changed by our collective lifestyle. How can we make a difference? This book takes a practical Taoist and mindful approach to something we are all probably thinking about.

One of the scariest things in the world is change; Fear of the unknown. It paralyzes us into thinking that we safe if we just keep to our daily routine. But in fact the world changes around us and the only way to truly stay connected with the earth and in harmony with nature is to be like water and go with the flow. Use this book as a tool to support your efforts to change to create the life you truly want.

I am amazed every time I pick up this book and read even just one page. It is the simplest read and yet most profound I have experienced so far. So simple to understand in depth concepts about self-awareness, human and global consciousness. Perfect balance between Science and Spirituality. Highly recommend.

If I focus on habit itself, it's not easy to change. But if I can focus on pre-steps of habit, I can change. This message gave me so much power.
