Melissa Collins has always been a book worm. Studying Literature in college ensured that her nose was always stuck in a book. She followed her passion for reading to the most logical career choice: English teacher. Her hope was to share her passion for reading and the escapism of books to her students. Having spent more than a decade in front of a classroom, she can easily say that it’s been a dream.
Her passion for writing didn’t start until more recently. When she was home on maternity leave in early 2012, she read her first romance novel and her head filled with the passion, angst and laughter of the characters who she read about it. It wasn’t long before characters of her own took shape in her mind. Their lives took over Melissa’s brain and The Love Series was born.

I really had to persevere with this third part of the Love series.

I felt frustrated a lot of the time due to Melanie's inability to communicate with Bryan. She constantly jumped to conclusions and made assumptions that led to silly decisions.

Honesty would have move things along a lot faster and happier with this couple.

However, things did eventually come out in the wash.

4/5 Sizzling Hearts for Heat

I absolutely loved Let Love In & Let Love Stay and really was so excited about Melanie's book. This book was written totally different then the the previous two in the series. There was no alternate POV and it went back and forth from the past to the present. This story was more about Melanie's growth as an individual than it was the romance between Bryan and Melanie. While their love story did develop, change and finally heal while the story progressed the main focus was not on their relationship.
Melanie tried to be perfect for everyone and wasn't comfortable in her own skin. She judged everyone's motives any time they showed her affection or gave her compliments. This caused her to think the worst of people and in so many ways made life harder for her than it had to be.
While I loved the underlying meaning in this story, coming to love yourself, I was disappointed in the love story. It was still a pretty solid story but I didn't feel as connected with Bryan and Melanie than I did with the previous couple. I still am very glad I found this series and can still give this book a solid 3.5 stars. But rating on heat I still thought the love scenes were amazing and that still earns a big 4 Sizzling Hearts for heat.

I was fortunate enough to read this book before publication. Melissa Collins became a favorite author of mine when she gave us Reid and Maddy. This series is an addiction, pulling you in, Let Love Heal is no different.

Melanie, oh how I connected with this character. She's real. Like most women, I too, put on appearances at times, while my internal emotions churn with negative thoughts, I smile and put on the face of perfection. Insecurities reek havoc on the way you think of yourself, but also your reactions and interactions to others. The journey of Mel and Bryan is one that is heartfelt and true.

Bryan, oh the hottest IT guy ever, just sayin'. There are some many qualities of Bryan to fall in love with. He's smart, handsome- forget handsome- he's hot, he's kind, considerate, loyal, loving, and strong. My heart broke for him multiple times in this book. I didn't think there would be another character in this series to love more than Reid.......I was wrong, Bryan will capture your heart and hold onto it.

The other thing I love is the pieces of the side characters we still get. Peyton is so feisty and I love her. We get more Cammi and Jack. I love having Momma's side story, too. (I'm leaving out any of that but its a must read to find out)

Hands down, I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a book to connect with. This one can be read as a stand alone novel or following Let Love In and Let Love Stay which are also two fantastic reads!!!!

ARC Review

I was gifted this book for an honest pre-release review from the author. I would have to say that Melissa pulled me into being a huge fan of NA from when "Maddy Met Reid" hahahah..... Her books are like wine, the get better with time.

It is a great experience when you are reading a book and it feels as if you are reliving your own life story. Melly Belly character brought to the surface the same things and feelings that I myself try to keep hidden. I was drawn in from the first chapter and met every doubt, revelation, struggle, and growth with understanding and that "been there" attitude.

Although I did enjoy Bryan and the way he wooed and had his own struggles that he fought so hard to hide and overcome, Melanie sealed the deal for me. This was a true "American" love story with banter, struggle and hot sex but the closeness to the heroine came to many woman is what makes this a spectacular read. I give it a 5+ stars and a GREAT continuation to an AMAZING first two books.

Bryan...SO SWOON-WORTHY!! Review to come with the release day event tomorrow (10/28).

**FULL REVIEW**

The road to self-discovery is often a hard one; one that can only be traveled alone. Melanie Crane has come to that point in her life where hiding behind the façade she created long ago is no longer working. Her insecurities are getting the best of her and could possibly ruin her life before it even truly gets started.

“I just don’t get it, Melanie. I don’t understand why you don’t believe me. I’ve told you that I like you, that I want to get to know you better. I’ve done nothing but be patient with you and try to prove to you that I’m a decent guy. Hell, I’ve moved around my entire schedule, even changed a few classes that I didn’t need so that I could be at work while you’re there and you…”

Bryan is that guy. He’s the hot geek we all love. Working in the computer lab at the University, he never thought the girl of his dreams would answer his ad for help…within ten minutes of it even being posted. What starts out as clumsy conversation, turns into all out flirting and Bryan works very hard to let Melanie know that he wants her. Only thing is, she is so self-conscious that disbelief colors her decision to give them a shot. Bryan now has to prove to Melanie that he is truly into her, by showing her. Words aren’t enough when the girl you’re trying to get doesn’t understand how she is the one you want.

“You’re not like the other girls that you think every guy wants. You’re a breath of fresh air.”

And so it begins…

Watching events unfold in both past and present from just Mel’s point of view was different than the previous books in this series. It was almost like the quote, “a breath of fresh air” in that you only got what Bryan was feeling when he actually engaged in conversation. I liked the change of pace for Collins in this story and even though you only get one side, it was fantastic and I have no questions as to what Bryan was feeling. He’s an open book.

Finding out about Melanie’s past was a hard one for me. She didn’t grow up in a broken home or have a family that didn’t care about her. I loved how her insecurities were all her own and never fueled by those around her. That is how I perceived this story as more about self-discovery than love. Sure, love is a HUGE factor…but its self-love, and the love of family and friends to help one realize how good life really is.

“I’ve been so open and loving to all of the important people in my life – my mom, Maddy and even Reid in a weird brother-sister kind of way. I’m always there whenever anyone else needs me, but it’s possible that I’ve left out one very important person – me.”

When Melanie finally lets her guilt win out, she confesses and lets the chips fall where they may…knowing Bryan’s side of the story as to his distance while they were apart just proves that she needs to work on herself before she can truly let anyone else in. It takes harsh words and loneliness to finally help Melanie grow into the woman she was meant to be. In that time, Mel can only hope that Bryan will one day see the changes and want to be a part of her life again.

“As the sun is shining a bit more often, I wonder if it’s time for me to change too. Regardless of whether or not my future holds a chance with Bryan, like he said, I need to fix me for me. And if this newer and better version of Melanie has even a sliver of hope to get Bryan back, then that’ll just be the icing on the cake. This transformation isn’t going to happen overnight; of that much I’m sure. Scary though it may be, it’s a change that I know will be for the better.”

“I’ve compared myself to other people for too long. But I’m not them; I’m me….Now, I just have to figure out who me is.”

Self-discovery and growth is probably the hardest part of becoming an adult. There are so many ways for one to lose themselves in even just everyday tasks and relationships. One sometimes cannot even separate who they are when asked. Who am I? Some people never know and coast through life just as Melanie had…living to please everyone, be everything to everyone, love everyone…and along the way, she forgot to love herself. I loved Mel’s story. I loved how it began, how it progressed and how it continues (because it’s not over). The emotion put forth from both Melanie and Bryan (as well as all of the others we have grown to love through this series) was not the traditional angst I felt in the first two. This was deeper somehow. Sure, there is a love story but the way it was achieved held so much more maturity than what I’m used to. It wasn’t a typical “whirlwind romance” that blew up from the beginning and fizzled out only to be reignited later…no, this is about an imperfect girl striving to be perfect only to realize that by just being her (flaws and all) IS perfect for someone. But mostly, this book proves that it’s okay to different and that there is truly someone for everyone. I cannot wait to see what happens in the future.

“I can’t say that I’m perfect; God knows I’m far from it, but I’m finally okay with that. I’m so lucky to have you in my life because you taught me how to love myself.”

Not all bruises leave a mark.

This short little sentence sums up Let Love Heal perfectly. What do you do when everyone around you thinks that you are perfect, but deep inside it is killing you, cutting you to pieces and the only way to survive is to bury it so far within yourself that it completely breaks you? Unbelievable. Amazing. Thought provoking. This book completely wrecked me. As I was reading, I wondered how much pain could one person take without just giving up on life? The author does a magnificent job of letting us see into the dark and agony filled person that is Melanie Crane. Melanie stuffs everything inside, hiding it and never letting anyone close to her. Her pain was very familiar. I mean who hasn’t felt this way at times. When Bryan Mahoney comes along, everything changes. Bryan seems to be the golden boy, but like Melanie, his world is crashing down, and he too hides his pain. Melanie and Bryan need each other to find the light and leave the darkness behind. They are broken but not beyond repair. They must find a way to let love in and heal their wounded and jaded spirits.

I adored Melanie and Bryan. At times, I could see parts of me in Melanie. At some point in their lives every woman has felt insecure and meaningless like Melanie. Bryan is a prime example of hotness personified. I loved this character and everyone of his flaws. This pair is magic. Their chemistry is out of this world.

Oh, the angst I suffered while reading this book. I was an emotional wreck, laughing and crying over my kindle. But it was the best kind of angst. What a book. It felt like the author had taken all of the emotions of the characters and transferred them unto myself. Simply outstanding. 5 out of 5 stars

I received this book as ARC from Ms. Collins. I have read the other two books in the Love series as well. I must say out of the three books that this one is my favorite. I love the character Melanie. I can see so many women in this one character. This book spoke to me on a personal level. I have not had a book do that before.

This book involves love, pain, hurt and most importantly love of yourself. Watching Melanie grow from this young woman full of self doubt to the loving caring person she becomes is fascinating!

Have your tissues handy. There a few areas in the book that will make you cry.

I can't wait to read more from Ms. Collins!

Oh Melanie and Bryan.  With the prologue come the tears!  Let me start by saying that I loved this book.  Like want to marry it and have little Bryan/Melanie babies love.  But I have to admit that while I cheered for Melanie like no one else and did relate to her- I wanted to smack the crap out of her!  She starts the book on a self destruct path that is painful to watch-but like a car accident you can’t look away. From moment one Bryan and Melanie are drawn to each other- but Melanie’s self doubt voice is SCREAMING in  her head and she makes it clear that she doesn’t trust Bryan’s motives or attraction.  Her view of herself and her place in her family/life are so skewed that she almost ruins her chances at friendship and love.Through a series of miscommunications, misunderstandings, poor choices and just plain fear Melanie finds herself alone.  And it sucks.  But my girl rallies- well after a SERIOUS pity party of one.  Let me also stop here and say how happy I am that Melissa didn’t have a complete physical overhaul montage of Melanie here.  The point is that while Melanie is not tiny she is perfect as she is, and has to first love herself before looking out.  And she does.  But in so many books the author will change the female lead physically perpetuating the idea that physical perfection is the only path to true happiness.  Melanie has so much to offer. And her size has no bearing on her greatness.Melanie takes the first steps in healing on her own -cue more damn tears and laughter!  It is refreshing to see her work to fix and overcome her own fears and insecurities.  Letting her friends and family in and being honest- taking a moment to look beyond herself and see that Bryan has been hurting also, and her actions didn’t help.  He has done his part to put distance, pain and anger between them.  Neither of them are perfect because REALLY- who is?  Bryan has to learn to open up and trust his life and feelings with others.  Closing themselves off and jumping to the worst conclusions has only hurt them both. There is so many great things about their story- their banter, their steamy attraction, silliness and friendship.  I for one can’t wait to see more of them and the their friends and family as the Love series continues.

Review: I love Melissa Collins work. Let Love In and Let Love Stay are two of my favorite books. I loved Maddy and Reid’s story. I loved Melanie and Bryan’s story as well. It was wonderful and I couldn’t put it down. I know how it feels to want to be perfect and not feeling like I was enough. I really connected with Melanie and how she was feeling. I get why she pushed people away and didn’t let them in. But she was missing out on what Bryan saw in her. They went through some hard times in their relationship and they even stopped talking to one another. But when love is real, it always finds a way. I was given an ARC copy by Melissa Collins for Sunshine and Mountains reviews. If you haven’t read Let Love In and Let Love Stay I recommend you get them and read them and then when Let Love Heals comes out you need to read it! They are wonderfully written books and I absolutely loved them. I give this book an A+!!!

Stars: 5

This book is the first I have read from the author Melissa Collins and all I have to say is, I wasn't disappointed at all in the book that I read. I was happy, sad, angry, breathless, and completely enthralled with the characters in this book from the beginning. Melanie is a young woman who struggles with self love and acceptance of herself and she reflects the same thoughts and insecurities that most women at any age feel and struggle with. She is a loving, amazing girl with a big heart who makes a few mistakes along the way that she has to learn from. The love that Bryan and Melanie share is breath taking and Bryan is certainly anyone's dream.

From Melanie's friends, to her family, to her struggles with her self worth I could not stop turning the pages of this book. You might need a reflection of yourself after reading this amazing page-turner, because Melanie is a reflection of at least one of the insecurities each of us struggles with. It will challenge you to change, to live, to love, and it will definitely challenge you to accept yourself for exactly who you are. I look forward to reading more from Melissa Collins and to fall more in love with the characters she has perfectly constructed.

This is the 3rd book in the love series.
This book tells you Melanie’s story
I loved this book and think every woman can connect with Mel and how she put on a brave face of perfection to hide her true feelings.
This story will take you on a journey of love, loss, pain and self-discovery…….
“You must love yourself before you love another” Buddha
Mel meets Bryan the HOT ‘I.T Geek’ in her first week of college…….
Bryan is totally swoony worthy HOT but comes with his own family issues.
Mel can’t see why he would want her…..when there are prettier, skinner girls he could have his pick of…..I think every women at some point in their life will have thought this.
Mel’s lack of love for herself and insecurities make her think the worse when Bryan distances himself from her during holiday break……..This causes Mel to do the unthinkable and leads to the breakdown of their relationship…….
Without giving away any spoilers……….
This book will have you laughing, smiling and crying as you relate to Melanie’s character along her bumpy painful ride of self-discovery.
One of the best love stories I’ve read in a while, simply because it’s an everyday real life love story not a perfect fairy tale.
I would recommend this whole series to everyone, Melissa Collins writing is simply Brilliant!!!!!

I loved Melanie in the first two books of the series but for some reason I just couldn't get into this book until about the half-way point. Maybe it was because of the constant flashback/flash forward chapters, but whatever it was it just seemed to keep dragging. However once I got to Part 2.....it was all gravy.

Let Love Heal is Book #3 in Melissa Collins’ Love Series. It can be read as a standalone however you get a better feel for her friends characters if you read Let Love In and Let Love Stay, I enjoyed them both!

This story is about Melanie and Bryan. It takes place over a little more than a year of their lives and is not a simple love story. From the first two books we know that Melanie and Bryan are dating however we do not know much about their relationship. Here we learn how they came together and how their love developed and crashed.

Melanie struggles with her self image, being a curvy size 16 with curly red hair she does not think that she is beautiful. To compensate for these feelings she strives to be perfect in every other aspect of her life as a daughter, a friend, and a student. She is such a sweet and innocent girl. I could easily identify with her personality. I felt like I could really identify with her and relate to her issues, reading about someone with a body that isn’t “perfect” was a nice change for me, as I have struggled with my weight over the years.

Then we have Bryan….the sexy computer geek that plays soccer – YUMMY! Talk about a sweetheart, he was genuinely a nice guy. When he meets Melanie you can tell that he likes her. They will be working together (conveniently ;) ) and you can feel the attraction. Bryan flirts with Melanie and she flirts back, I mean who wouldn’t flirt with him….he’s so sexy!

We start to see many of Melanie’s insecurities, she flirts with him but doesn’t feel that the feelings are mutual. She is always down on herself and she just can’t understand what Bryan sees in her. I felt so bad because here was this awesome guy, who tells it like it is, and she just cannot get over the fact that she feels he doesn’t really want her. When she finally agrees to go out with him their relationship blossoms. I still got the feeling that it was all surreal for. It wasn’t until their “first time” that I think she realized what he felt for her. Melanie thinks to herself as things are progressing…

“Yep, he wants me. Unless that’s something else pressing into my back and I highly doubt there’s a banana in his pocket.”

Well that’s one way to put it! These two were perfect for each other, it just took Melanie so long to realize it. If it wasn’t her lack of self esteem that got in their way it was an ex-girlfriend of Bryan’s who gave Melanie nothing but trouble.

After a few months things seem to go down hill. Melanie’s insecurities lead her to do the unthinkable and she feels so guilty. She hides her guilt on the inside but hates herself for it.

“This self-loathing, indecisive, evasive version of me is hideous.”

Melanie and Bryan have a long road ahead of them when the unthinkable happens. What will this mean for their relationship, can they overcome what has been done? Follow the story of these two and find out what love, determination, and patience can do for them.

“Anything worth doing in your life will take time. So be patient, but always persevere.”

She grew up with only her mom and Maddy, her father died before she was born, but her mom made sure she was well taken care of. I don’t know why she feels insecure about herself in the first place when she grew up in a loving home. Maybe it was some bullies in high school or rude comments she accidentally heard? Here was an amazing guy offering himself to her – and she tries to chicken out. She was determined that this guy could never like her – but Bryan was too persuasive, too determined to show how much he wanted her in his life. But sometimes even the best efforts aren’t just enough.

Bryan is smart, charming, thoughtful, and HOT. He was the epitome of the perfect boyfriend, or at least in appearance. But when his family starts to drift apart, he was the responsible one to pick up the pieces and make it all okay for his mom and his sister.

Their relationship was pretty amazing at first, but their foundation wasn’t strong enough to withstand the storm. Melanie’s insecurities and Brian’s inability to open up have added to the fragility of it. It didn’t take long for them to make some stupid decisions that drove them apart. It was painful, but I think it was needed. They needed time off each other - for Melanie to learn to love herself and finally get rid about her insecurities and for Brian to settle his troubles at home, and finally give his all, and his trust to Melanie. Nevertheless, I loved the plot, the pacing and the characters – it was great to see Maddy and Reid ecstatic and excited to have the baby – as well as Melanie’s mom who truly deserved to be happy more than anyone else in this novel.

I fell in love, cried a bit (especially reading what Melanie’s dad wrote to her), and swooned. I didn’t regret spending my whole day off reading this novel. Among the three books in the series – I should say this one is my favorite. Not just because this was a great love story – but because this book had taught us to love ourselves first more than anyone else. It can be hard at first, especially when insecurities threaten to consume you – but in the end, nothing is more important than knowing your own value. Love does the most impossible things, and heals the deepest, most painful wounds.

This is Melissa's 3rd book in the LOVE series and it may be my FAVORITE to date! I loved the meaning and message being conveyed to us the reader.
Melissa knows how to tug at our hearts, make us sympathize with her characters, cry, laugh and much more while reading this book.

I love Melanie. Melanie is like a lot of women today. She is insecure, unsure of who she is, trying to be perfect and feels alone on the inside. When she meets Bryan in college she feels something for him. He tries to tell her repeatedly how interested/involved he is with her; yet she's always so insecure and doesn't believe him.

Bryan is a hot, sexy, IT guy at the college. He sees Melanie and is basically smitten with her. He wants and will prove to her and that is beautiful, wonderful and then some!

He says to her:
"I think you're the most beautiful girl I've ever seen."
"Just give me the time and I'll prove it to you. You'll see just how beautiful I think you are. You'll understand just how much I like you."

I also enjoyed his humorous side with this quote:
"Believe me Melanie, if it were up to me, you would be banged very well whenever I'm around." hahaha :)

Bryan truly does fall hard for Melanie and can't understand the reason why she is so insecure. What more can he do to prove to her? Then with his feelings, her insecurities and some family drama-- can that ruin a wonderful relationship between two broken people?

I loved these two characters! You feel every emotion they are feeling. You come to laugh, cry and feel anger with them and betrayed even.

I truly did love seeing Melanie's mom, Maddy, Reid and their friends. I also loved the letters that were given to Melanie.. and omg that made me cry, but it needed to be done and help her find her way.

Can the 2 people who need to be healed find themselves? Can forgiveness even be given?

Melanie and Bryan's story will inspire and encourage you to find yourself, accept yourself and much more. When you accept yourself you can truly heal! But the question is can Melanie and Bryan get to?

You will have to read the book to find out!

Wonderfully done, Melissa. You have reminded me to focus more on the positive and love me as I am. Lots of women feel insecure about themselves and their bodies. TV, movies and magazines make a lot of women uncomfortable in their own skin. You made Melanie a typical woman in our society and I loved everything you wrote!

I've had this book for a while and have been sitting on it because I knew that Melissa Collins was going to do something special with it. Melanie's character had intrigued me from the moment I met her in Let Love In and I was happy to get her story.

This book took me on an emotional roller coaster ride. I had an easy time connecting with Melanie's character. She was so damn likeable. I enjoyed that she wasn't perfect, that she was struggling with things that so many women do. While she didn't wear her insecurities on her sleeve, they would rear their ugly head at the worst of times, and this endeared her to me even more.

Then there is Bryan, sweet, nerdy, secretly sexy Bryan. He is everything a girl could want-honest, kind, patient and willing to do the work. My heart broke for both of them as they struggled. First when Mel makes her confession after they admit they love each other. Then again when they're forced to play nice for Emmie's sake.

Both Melanie and Bryan have their issues to work out. When Melanie receives the book from her mom, there were tears pouring down my face (in public). It was such a touching moment and made a huge impact on the rest of the story. I really enjoyed watching Melanie's character develop and grow. She was a strong woman before but by the end she was really facing her fears head on. Though her confidence and love for herself grew she didn't know how to act and behave around Bryan- he still made her nervous and I was glad for that. It showed how much she was affected by the rift in their relationship.

In the end, things finally, and I mean finally worked out for our couple. It was a long and very winding road that finally brought them back together. I loved that I got glimpses into the lives of the characters that I fell in love with in the earlier books of this series. There are flashes of Maddy and Reid as well as Melanie's mom, Lucy.

This book contained all the things I've come to love and expect from Melissa Collins. There was a good story line with good pacing, sweet love, loads of angst and a happy ending. I'm going to be better and not wait eight months until I read the next in the series, the story of Melanie's mom, Lucy and Evan!

This book, like the fourth book in the series - which I read prior to Let Love Heal - had me in tears within the first few pages. And while I knew a little of Melanie and Bryan's story from having read the books that come both before and after it, I really wasn't prepared for a story that made me a little uncomfortable and a lot happy.

Melanie Crane projects perfection, but behind the facade is a girl that wants to be loved and accepted despite all her perceived flaws. She doesn't see perfection when she looks at herself, and she's determined that no-one will ever see just how broken she really is.

Bryan Mahoney is charming, handsome and makes Mel's heart flutter. But when Bryan life starts to fall apart, and he begins to put distance between them, Mel is left wondering what happened - and trying not break all over again.

Can they let their love for one another mend all their broken pieces? Or will the distance keep them apart forever?

Let Love Heal was harder for me to read and love than the other Love books because of some poor decision-making and communication from both Melanie and Bryan. There were times when I wanted to skip to the end, even knowing what comes after their story, just to be sure the end result would be worth the way it made my emotions scatter.

And it was. Yes, there were moments when I wanted to slap someone but ultimately, that tension and frustration made the HEA all the sweeter. I didn't always like Mel in this book, but I most definitely sympathized with her insecurities, and I have to praise Melissa Collins for writing a perfectly imperfect female lead - someone who is not tiny, skinny, and beautifully "average" (because average is never really average in romance).

This couple were great together; Bryan, in particular, was sexy and kind, loving and tender, and exactly the kind of guy Melanie needed. They worked well together and I was just so frustrated when they couldn't get it right. But what's a book without some frustration? Not worth reading, that what. And this book is most definitely worth reading.

Let Love Heal is the third book in the Love series. It can be read standalone. ~ Beth, 4 stars

This book was an incredibly REAL read.

When is say REAL, I'm talking about the fact that Melissa Collins has given her readers a heroine who is your normal, average woman. Only Melanie isn't average, that's just how she sees herself. This character shows her insecurities of being a size 16, she has a negative self image and believes she is worthless. She can't see herself as everyone who loves her sees her and that is as a beautiful, intelligent, caring and loving woman. I felt such a strong connection with Melanie and loved her flawed character.

Bryan is your sexy computer geek, who is instantly attracted to Melanie. He pursues her with a determination to make her his. I loved how caring, sweet and loving he was and his fierce protectiveness of his little sister made me fall in love with him even more.

When issues arise on the home front Bryan starts to pull away from Melanie and a vicious text from his ex, brings all Melanie's insecurities to it's peak, she believes she has done the unthinkable. What results is the couple being ripped apart and it's heartbreaking.

We watch as Melanie tries to pick herself up and discover how to accept and love who she is, and Bryan struggle with his own family issues, while still loving each other through their loss. When their paths keep crossing, it's inevitable that things need to be sorted out.

What I loved about this story was the character growth and development, especially with Melanie. You see her transform from the insecure, self deprecating girl into a confident woman who believe in her worth. Melissa Collins told Melanie's story to absolute perfection.

The first chapter about Melanie's mum and dad blew me away..... What a way to start a book. I think after this chapter it was so important that we got to see Melanie's mum get the ending that she deserved and I thank Melissa Collins for giving her readers that.

With amazing characters, a story line that was real and an author who allows her readers to experience love, loss, tears and happiness, Let Love Heal is definitely a winner in my opinion. It's a story you don't want to miss.

4.5 STARS!!!

I received an ARC from the Author in exchange for an honest review.

This is the 3rd book in the Love Series from Melissa Collins but it can be read as a standalone. This is Melanie and Bryan’s story and what a story it is. I am a huge fan of Reid and Maddy from Books 1 & 2 in the series but Bryan and Melanie stole my heart. Their story was full of self-doubt, guilt, longing, forgiveness and most of all love.

The characters in this story are relateable. Melanie puts on a brave front to hide her pain and loss but inside she is full of self-doubt. She’s not “supermodel” beautiful and therefore feels like she will never be enough for any guy. Why would anyone want to be with her?

Bryan is athletic, in shape, a computer whiz and absolutely swoonworthy. As I mentioned, I am a Reid fan but…whoa, Bryan has got such a huge heart, he’s sexy and smart, what’s not to like! But Bryan too faces his own struggles and when he needed Melanie the most she is not there.

The story includes flashbacks to the beginning of Bryan and Melanie’s relationship so you see just how patient and understanding Bryan was until he just couldn’t take any more.

Of course every relationship has its ups and downs. So as I traveled the roller coaster of emotion with Melanie and Bryan I was always pulling for their happy ever after. Sometimes you have to love something enough to let it go to see if is really worth the fight. But before you can truly be loved by another you must learn to love yourself.

“Maybe that’s just how things were supposed to be. We were meant to spend some time apart to figure things out, to pick up the pieces so that we could both be whole when we found each other again.” ~ Melanie

If you haven’t had the opportunity to read any of the books in the Love Series, you should take the time to acquaint yourself. Melissa Collins is an amazing author with some amazing characters that will have you waiting anxiously for the next book. I know that I am looking forward to the Novella she has planned for later this year, Let Love Shine.

If you´ve read the first two books of the series, you know that Melanie is Maddy´s best friend. Let Love Heal is Melanie´s and Bryan´s story.

Melanie Crane is perfect in everything. College. Friendship. Perfect daughter. And then she did one thing. One thing that could ruin her relationship with the only boy that has her heart. That made her feel guilty, afraid. She was also alone and sad because her best friend won´t be with her.

A lot of things are going on in Bryan Mahoney´s life that made him distant with Melanie. Things that he is still trying to process.

It is really obvious that these two love each other even though neither of them sad the L word.

But when Melanie tells him the secret that was eating her alive, what will happen between them? How will he react? Will he accept the truth? Will he forgive her? Will they get back together? Will they get over it?

In the book we see how these two met, how they friendship and relationship progressed, what was going on and what is going on in the lives of her friends and family.

What can I say other than Melissa didn´t disappoint us again. This book is more than incredible. Melissa brought us another amazing story. I´m so excited that we will get the fourth book in the series. Yeah.

Very well written.

The story. The plot. The way the story progressed. The characters. The drama. Twist and turns. Love. Romance. Lust. All of this made the book a perfect package of brilliant.

Okay, can we first discuss this cover? It is sick. It is dope. It is amazing! I cannot wait to order my signed copy from Melissa (you can on her blog) because this book is so beautiful, literally, inside and out.
So, let's get to the story. Finally. Finally we have a normal sized woman and a hot guy together. Finally, something we can connect with, but still fantasize with during those few sexy times.
In Let Love Heal, all women can connect with Melanie on some level. She is a girl coming into her own, an insecure girl trying to find herself like all girls her age. She has the same insecurities about her weight, her body, her attitude, you know, stuff all women deal with. The constant comparison. I bonded with this book
What I loved most about this book is that Melanie found herself, but if she hadn't met Brian, and experienced the things that she did, she would never be the woman she is today. She may have never found her true calling.
Another thing that I loved about this book is the fierce friendships that and formed. Some girls just can't have more than one friend, or feel left out. Let Love Heal really shows you what being a loving, caring, accepting friend is all about.
Let Love Heal has it all. First love, longing, lust, angst, growing, changing, anger, protection, loyalty, acceptance, friendship and love. It runs the gamete and I'm so thankful I got to read this book.

*** I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. ***

Melissa Collins is probably one of my favorite authors. She consistently out does herself with every book she writes. I've had the pleasure of following her work and working with her since the very first LOVE book, and I am just so amazed how she can come up with such great stories.

This is my favorite book in the Love series so far. Melanie is one of my favorite literary characters of all time. I can really relate to Melanie and what she's gone through and how she feels about her self image. I am so glad that Melissa went outside the box with Melanie and decided to make her modeled after a real woman and not a stick figure. I think this will make women be able to relate better to her character.

Bryan is a phenomenal character, he is HOT, but aside from that (because let's face it... looks aren't everything), he is caring, and sensitive, smart, and above all her loves the shit out of Melanie.

This book also brought us a new character Peyton, whom I loved! She is spunky and just fun to read about. I also was glad to see the old favorites return (Cammie, Jack, Lia, and Momma).

I absolutely recommend this book to anyone and everyone that needs a good laugh, cry, and love story. Melissa Collins' books are definitely a must read!

This book 3 in The Love Series by Melissa Collins. Honestly it took me a while to get through this book, it is not a reflection on the book but my busy life as a mother of two toddlers. Regardless of how long I went between picking up my Kindle to read the next section I was easily and instantly reconnected with the characters. I love that this book is about Melanie and her struggles, she is such a pivotal supporting character in the first two books that I found myself anticipating her story with great interest. This book did not disappoint me, I actually found I enjoyed it a whole lot more than book 2 of Maddy and Reid's journey. I love that this book delves into so many insecurities that women feel, feelings we have whether we are thin or heavy, outwardly beautiful or average, super smart or just on par with our peers. Woman feel these feelings that this character struggles with. These are feelings that touch your soul and pull out your empathy and tears because you have been there and you relate. I LOVED this book, in fact it has been my favorite of the series so far. I can not wait to read further and see what is in store for others in the series. I also want to say thank you to Mellisa Collins for hoping through her book that every woman could feel that they deserve to be loved too!

This is a hard book for me to rate. I liked the story; I just could not connect with the heroine’s behavior toward certain things. I am not sure if it was because I knew what she did very early on in the story that made it hard for me to understand any of her feelings or thoughts. It was like anything she said or felt (remorse, etc.) meant nothing to me. For me, I think it would have been better if the story would have not started with the flashbacks. I think I would have preferred it to start in the timeline of August 2012, not January 2013. The book had me feeling anxious and feeling confused about what I thought should happen.

I really liked Melanie was a regular girl. Not the immediate “she is gorgeous.” She wasn’t supermodel beautiful with the perfect body.
I will definitely read other books by Melissa Collins. There was nothing wrong with the writing.

The words flowed. The writing was not choppy. Like I mentioned after knowing some things about the characters, it was just hard for me to connect. I loved the Prologue. I thought it was written perfectly.

I loved Mel in Maddy's books, She was the best friend every one wants! even when Maddy had Reid Melanie was always cheer leading for her.

We got tiny snippets about Mel and Bryan's relationship, they had some big hurdles to climb.

We never really appreciated Melanie's self loathing, she came over as a strong independent person! just shows how we all deceive everyone.

I fell in love with Bryan especially with how he fell for Mel, telling her how beautiful she is. she lacked confidence in herself, he made her see things differently. This book definatel had start, middle and end. I liked him at the start, loathed him in the middle and fell in love with him again in the end.

Only Mel could decide what she wanted, but in this instance she needed a gentle shove in the right direction. I am really pleased she made the decision to live herself before she could gives herself to anyone else.

Loved to hear more about Momma and her impeding relationship, she deserves some fun and happiness.
Can't wait for more Maddy and Reid.

I will admit I hate writing reviews, and I am not much of a review reader, but with this book I'm going to give it my very best shot.

I think every woman should read this book. It's an incredibly powerful book that lays out the struggle so many women face...being perfect, finding perfect, judging ourselves against others, even when we don't need to.

Mel's struggle was real, it was, and still is, my struggle, all of our struggle. Melissa Collins beautiful words reminded me to continue to seek my own beauty. Loving others is the easy part, loving ourselves is hard, but knowing and accepting that both need to happen is h he hardest part.

I loved this book, READ this book! You will be SO happy you did!
