Seger wrote this book from the perspective of a ministry leader who has had people under him who were disloyal. The book is one-sided, as it should also include the perspective(s) of people under a ministry leader who gave their loyalty to the leader and have been stabbed in the back. The second situation is the one I'm familiar with, as I've twice had to privately confront pastors about failings in their own personal life and/or ministry, only to have them both turn around and publicly attack and attempt to humiliate me. I've also seen the first situation, discussed in this book, where a ministry leader is stabbed in the back.

Seger begins with a chapter on Defining the relationship, then follows with five examples of ones who betrayed their leader (Miriam, Absalom, Satan, Peter, Judas), and another five examples of ones who were loyal to their leader (Ruth, Abigail, Paul, Jonathan, Uriah). The author concludes with a chapter on Doing Something about it, with the exhortation to seek peace aggressively, and a final urge to take inventory of loyalty and disloyalty in your own life.

Throughout the book, the author gives some historical and biblical examples of loyalty and disloyalty, and in each chapter points of application.

This is an easy read of 133 pages and is recommended.
