Beachcomber Mystery #3

Murder on the Boardwalk

Rate this book
A forgotten cold case languishing in a dusty box. A teenage girl without a name. Who murdered Gidget Jane Doe as she became known to the town when no one stepped forward to claim her body. Found strangled on a hot August morning in 1978, her body left in plain view on the boardwalk—how could anyone do such a thing? And why? Was she killed in broad daylight on a sliver of beach? Or was she murdered the night before? After all this time, so many unanswered questions. Is it too late for the killer to be brought to justice?
Two self-described websleuths—Brogan Cole and Lucien Sutter—try to uncover the killer’s dark and twisted secrets. The path to discovery won’t be easy. Twists and turns lead to dead ends—until they get help from an unlikely source. But each step they take closer to the killer puts their lives in jeopardy—which can only mean one thing—the killer is a local and still lives in the area. Can they put the clues together before the killer strikes again? Or will they be the next victims?

Vickie's novels have consistently appeared on Amazon’s Top 100 lists in Contemporary Romance, Romantic Suspense and mystery / thriller. She writes what she loves to read -- heartwarming romance laced with suspense, heart-pounding thrillers, and riveting mysteries. Vickie loves to write about compelling and down-to-earth characters in settings that stay with her readers long after they've finished her books.

She's the author of twenty novels and numerous short stories with no plans to slow down. She's looking at a busy 2017, adding a new book, Beneath Winter Sand, to her Pelican Pointe Series and releasing a fifth Skye Cree book, Truth in the Bones. Plus, she has plans to begin a brand new series, in a brand new setting. Stay tuned for updates by subscribing to her mailing list.

Vickie writes full-time. But when she does take a break from banging out the next novel, she loves to get outside. Even though hanging out at the beach is at the top of her list, there's nothing quite like a long, soul-searching walk through the woods, daylight preferred, of course.

Another entertaining mystery from Vickie McKeehan! This one is filled with lots of twists and turns, more questions than answers most of the time, and interesting revelations. Add to that wonderful characters and an idyllic setting, and this book is a a wonderful read!

The story has like pieces of a puzzle that the characters needed to be able to see the big picture. The pieces will click towards the end.

I came to read this book without reading the other first two books so I got confused with the different names of the characters. They are chatty ones too.

I've read and enjoyed every Pelican Pointe and then Beachcomer book. This one starts with one cold case and weaves a story with many mysteries spanning decades. I'm still reliving some "I didn't see that coming" moments from this one -- in a good way. As always, looking forward to more.

Little spooky, little violent, little sad, but a great story. I think the ending says there will be another book, I sure hope that's true! I want more! Please!
