He was ordered to kill the thief but became an ally
I'm not a thief yet. I just sorted the booty; I went through all the trials to become one, but my commander didn't want that to happen. This is my most important and deadliest trial yet.In this science fiction fantasy adventure, a clan called the Tudoksea were thieves who pillaged a city daily. The scrundgers sorted the valuables from the junk while the upper-class stealther Flites did the thievery.
A scrundger wanted to become an Elite. The class jump was never done before, but Danica Yonder wouldn’t quit until she attained the title.
Her trainer wanted to stop her and sent her on a suicide mission. There was a killer in her path arraigned for her demise. He was going to kill her. This is the first book in The Yonder Accounts book series. There will be wild adventures entailed within this thrilling adventure of realizing who you truly are and what you would do to remain stoically virtuous amidst all the wild wants and prejudices of others. Enjoy this great reading experience.

Kyle grew up an only child. When he was 3, and moved to Milwaukee Wisconsin from Baton Rouge Louisiana, he learned early that you had to use your imagination to stay interested in life.
Kyle was always an entertainment buff. After his stint in the military, he became a master of sales. He knew over 800 electronic consumer devices. He stayed with sales most of his life. From car audio, luxury vehicle sales, and home maintenance equipment. He became a trainer at that vocation, but he always wanted to entertain.
He was stricken with Diabetes, and lost most of his sight, but Diabetes kept going. He lost his kidneys, and couldn't work anymore. He was lucky to get a transplant.
He had to do something, so he began to write stories from the characters he made up in high school. Thus began his writing career.
"Yonder’s Quest" delivers a refreshingly original take on the sci-fi fantasy genre. From the opening pages, I was intrigued by its unique premise and compelling protagonist. Danica Yonder is a determined, well-drawn character whose journey is both action-packed and emotionally resonant. Her evolving relationship with a would-be assassin, along with the layered social structure of the Tudoksea clan, adds tension and depth to a storyline that is anything but predictable.
The worldbuilding is one of the novel’s greatest strengths. The author, Kyle Robertson, has created a vividly imagined alien society, full of class divisions, trials, and species distinctions that make the setting feel rich and alive. It’s clear that great creativity and care went into crafting this universe, and I found myself eager to learn more with every chapter.
Despite these great qualities, my reading experience was impacted by the book’s lack of editorial polish. There are numerous typos, grammar issues, and formatting inconsistencies throughout the text. At times, these errors pulled me out of the narrative and made sections difficult to follow. It’s a shame, because the underlying story deserves better presentation.
That said, the potential here is undeniable. With careful editing, "Yonder’s Quest" could easily be elevated from a good book to a great one. As it stands, I’m still very glad I read it. Fans of imaginative sci-fi with strong female leads and rich alien cultures will find a lot to enjoy here.
Kyle Robertson’s Yonder's Quest: The Pilfer Stealth Voyage for Just Retribution is a fast-paced, imaginative blend of science fiction and fantasy that follows Danica Yonder, a determined scrundger fighting to defy expectations in a rigidly stratified clan. The Tudoksea operate on a system where the elite Flites steal, and the lower class scrundgers sort through the spoils but Danica’s ambition to rise beyond her assigned role sets the stage for an exhilarating and dangerous journey.
Robertson skillfully weaves themes of ambition, identity, courage, and resilience into a world filled with prejudice, treachery, and tradition. The attempted sabotage of Danica’s ascent via a deadly mission designed to eliminate her adds emotional weight and high tension. Yet the unexpected alliance between Danica and the assassin sent to kill her becomes one of the most compelling threads, pulling readers deeper into both characters’ motivations and hidden histories.
With rich worldbuilding, sharp pacing, and a cast of morally complex characters, Yonder’s Quest delivers an engaging opening to The Yonder Accounts series. Fans of underdog heroes, thrilling missions, and character driven sci fi fantasy will find much to admire in this bold first installment.
I enjoyed the story. Good main character and a very detailed & comprehensive amount of world building. The author's backstory made an impression on me. Rejecting gangs and having to deal with diabetes & seizures is not easy. Well done on the book.
I love stories that have high drama but relatable characters and that is what makes this story worth reading. If you want a tale where you can connect with the characters when things are going crazy this is the story to read.
