Those are the last words Ariana heard before dying painfully on her twenty-eight birthday, having been betrayed by her own family and so-colled lover after spending her entire life groveling for their attention. So when she somehow reawakens as her sixteen-year-old self, she resolves to never love or be loved ever again. Instead, Ariana sets out to get revenge on her conniving and power-hungry mother and sisters--memories of the past and a steely resolve being all she has at her disposal. But her plans are interrupted by Cyrus Carrha, the infamously cold--and handsome--ruler of the Northern Kingdom. They never once interacted in her past life, but now, Cyrus seems strangely interested in her. Will he turn out to be a valuable ally, or is he just another vulgar-hearted noble like everyone else in Ariana's life?
key points: i liked it, the art is good, the plot is good, the main character's internal conflict is good. it's a regression/revenge plot, which some think is overdone, but others (like me) always enjoy the original/fresh twists each manhwa offers. i like the pure vengeance and hardhearted evil ariana wants to become and commit, and yet her father's family heals and supports her. and so does the northern high lord, i suppose.
the side characters are a bit underdeveloped but it's still alright, the main character (ariana) has clear, defined relationships with some of them.
it is worth nothing her eldest evil stepsister is dark/ashy-skinned for whatever reason, the rest of the family white as snow however. she is evil with no redemption, so idk what they were doing with that.
Very nicely written, it kept my attention throughout the book. There were some parts that did seem to drag a little but it wasn't so long that it took away from the story. Overall, it was a good reading experience and I do recommend the book.
