Jackie is happily running the bar she manages, with dreams to someday own the restaurant when her boss Gio retires. The bar becomes short staffed and Gio brings in his insufferable nephew James to help out. Jackie views James as cocky and arrogant, and can't wait until he goes back to running his own nightclub. Before that happens though, Gio needs the pair of them to travel to Florida and check out a new location he is interested in buying. Gio graciously pays for the trip, including a stop on the way back so that Jackie can attend her sister's wedding. The close quarters could be a recipe for disaster for the pair, or it could open up the beginning of something beautiful for the future of Gio's legacy. If only Jackie and James can learn to let their walls down.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I’m a sucker for the one bed trope, but one ice bath?! I never knew I needed that until now. I loved how patient and kind the MMC was with the FMC while she healed from the traumas of her past. The banter had me blushing and the spice was spot on.
3.75 stars rounding up - I am not wild about third person so I had a hard time getting into this but overall it was a quick cute read. Workplace romance, rivals to lovers, grumpy sunshine but shes the grumpy one, funny characters, cheesy rom com vibes.
I didn't really feel like it was very Christmas-y but I don't think it was intended to be a "christmas romance" anyways. I really enjoyed Gio's character. I didn't really connect to any of the character but I think if I would have read the previous stories I would have. They are all standalone but the characters interconnect. There was some good spice and our favorite praise, "good fucking girl". I definitely want to go back and read the other's stories and reread this later so I can get a better look at the whole crew. Overall very cute and a nice quick read that will have you giggling and smiling for days.
I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Are you looking for a quick, fast paced enemies to lovers, workplace romance book? Then look no further!
Jackie and James couldn't be more different - Jackie is a bartender, but eventually wants to be the owner of the bar and James is a club owner. Jackie has past traumas that she deals with and James is the happy go lucky, flirty guy.
When Jackie and James keeps getting pushed together by James's uncle, aka Jackie's boss, the walls that Jackie has built up keep coming down. Once the two of them get together, you know that they are end game together.
This book is a quick read with some spicy moments included!
Please note - this book is written in third person.
Jackie has been working hard to make her dreams come true. But when they are short stuffed at her restaurant one day, her boss calls his infuriatingly hot nephew James for help. Jackie feels threatened by him and James feels...other things. He falls hard and fast for Jackie....
This is an absolutely adorable story. The growing tension between Jackie and James was *chef's kiss. It's a slow burn, but it burns oh so hot once it starts. Sprinkled with a little bit of Christmas and a lot of heart "That's It" is the perfect cozy read for this holiday season.
“You hold the key, beautiful. I’m just along for the ride.”
This is the kind of charm you can expect in this Christmas story! I swooned for the banter (like hello??) and blushed during the spicy scenes. This short book (not quite as short as a novella but on the shorter side) was inspired by the most amusing TikTok and packs a punch. Justice for [redacted], Morgan made me cry again! Fans of the rest of the series will eat it up!
This was a fun, fast paced holiday story taking place from early December to new years. It has some of my favorite tropes, hate/dislike to lovers, one bed, and even one ice bath? The premise is cute, but overall this fell flat for me. I didn’t feel connected to the characters at all and I think the writing style was maybe just not for me. It felt a little stilted and I didn’t feel any true connection between the two main characters.
Alright this was my first Christmas book I’ve ever read so maybe I’m being a little too judgy Good- there was a couple Taylor swift references so slay, and there was a kiss cam and I loved that. The MMC has such confidence like you go girl. Bad- the povs were out of order and that annoyed me so bad, and this is kinda a book for like 30 year olds sooo.
And what was that plot twist?! I didn’t sign up for that. Overall it’s a cute book but I definitely wouldn’t reread it
A heartfelt holiday novella with the most hilarious inspiration ever (see Morgan’s TikTok account for more info 🤣). I love me a prickly FMC with a soft spot for Taylor Swift! Def recommend as a fun, quick read that still puts the characters through an emotional journey (aka, my favorite kind of read 😁).
James and Jackie are just amazing. This was a slow burn with angst that was definitely HOT. These two characters were very well developed and they had banter that went for miles! I love the holiday that was tossed in for good measure that ended making this the absolute perfect cozy Christmas read this year!
Jackie is a bartender and James is a club owner. Jackie hopes to become future owner of the bar until James comes along, due to him being family to the owner. Enemy to lovers with drama in between. I liked this book. It had a more unique storyline with part stories added in. Jackie knows what she wants.
Just finished this book as had an ARC copy. Loved reading about another character and still keeping up with the Collins family. Living for the attitude Jac has. Made me smile and also relatable. Cant wait for Amy and Jade to have their own stories!! Highly recommend any book by Morgan Jones

This was such a spicy bickering workplace romance between a bartender and a club owner. This story was super fast paced, and I love the tension that forms between the characters and especially how much the MC cares for FMC. This is a must read with a sprinkle of Christmas mixed😍
I read this in one day. Could not put it down! Jackie and James had such great chemistry. I loved seeing the relationship flourish in this story, and it’s such a sweet holiday read!!! So freaking cute!!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 🌶️🌶️🌶️/5 That’s It by @authormorganjones This was a good and quick spicy read! I’m not really a fan of third person, but I was able to get over that and enjoy this book! I loved how patient James was with Jackie. The banter between the two was great!
I really had to make myself read this book. Not because it’s bad, but because the FMC is unnecessarily mean and rude to the MMC and it baffles me that he still fell for. The third act break-up felt really forced at the end.
I really enjoyed That's It!!! It is a short, fun, and spicy read. This is my first book by Morgan Jones and it will not be my last. I love all the tropes featured in this novella. Thank you Morgan for the arc!
This one wasn’t for me. It’s 3rd person pov which I don’t enjoy most of the time. The characters chemistry was missing for me. I do think it would help to read other things by this author to get a feel for writing style. It’s set around Christmas time but there’s not much Christmas in it. ✨That being said I do think you would enjoy this if you love: 🍾Insta Love 🍾He Falls First 🍾One Bed 🍾Workplace Rivals 🍾Mild Spice
🍻 dislike to love 🍷 workplace romance 🍻 close proximity 🍷 trip together 🍻 insta love 🍷 one bed
📍“Literature is like mirrors and windows, a professor of mine in college said that. A mirror of your own experience, or a window into someone else’s.“
What a fun holiday novella! Fast paced, with relatable MCs and even better side kicks. I love a good dislike to love. And it also had one of my favorite things: “I don’t h*te you. Why would you think that?”
I can’t believe I’ve already nailed two holiday books and December hasn’t even started. Woohoo look at me 😎😎😎
Back to the book… it takes places in a very short period of time. Pretty much the month of December. But it felt a lot longer, which always leaves me in awe with the author. 😱 It can’t be an easy task to make a novella feel like a full length book 👏🏼👏🏼
Pick this up if you're looking for a book that will deliver exactly what you want from it: banter, back-and-forth, rivalry, spice, etc. If you like reading rivals to lovers and want a quick easy read, this is for you!
