Twisted Obsession was full of drama, suspense and spice. This deliciously twisted dark romance will keep you entranced from beginning to end. You can't help but fall for the main characters, their connection was felt from the pages and oh boy was it HOT! This was a very touch her and die, I will burn the world to the ground type of story. I loved every bit of it and can't wait to see what comes next in the series.

This whole read was the blossoming of Kami and Darius relationship. Whether they have to stay hidden, whether they can truly be together. Little did they know EVERYONE knew about them. They weren’t the most subtle.


I’m so glad i plucked this from my TBR. I’ve had it sitting since June. I hope there’s a book 2.

I had no idea this book would be this fantastic! I decided to read this on November 1, thinking it would be a normal romance book as I hadn't read this author's work before and didn't have a lot of expectations so I could finish it in one sitting. Wrong. I was so wrong.

I had to pace myself while reading this because this was just so enjoyable! The first chapter itself had me hooked for the wonderful bond between the four girls. Then came the best friend's brother romance. The mafia bit. The EMOTIONS. The angst of not being able to be together after their little trip was over. The SMUT!! The chemistry between Darius and Kami (I have a terrible habit of forgetting the names of the main characters as soon as I finish the book, but I actually remembered the names of the characters in this book, which is a huge testament to how much I was invested in them). Every single thing about this book had me on the edge of my seat.

I also had a feeling the girls knew about Darius and Kami (#Dami or #Karius?) all throughout their vacation, and I was so right! I laughed so hard when they confessed they knew everything. That scene was downright hilarious.

Also, the part about Lance and the leaking pipes? Had me in stitches; I actually sent that part to my friend to laugh with me. I reiterate that I really loved the girls' friendship. There was no jealousy, no envy, no bad feelings of any kind even though Kami was in love with Lavena's brother. My heart warmed every time they all interacted.

Another part I loved was the scene where Darius got jealous of Lance. In fact, I loved every single scene from his POV because I love a possessive fictional man who wants to protect his love but knows he shouldn't be with her.

Loved, loved, LOVED this. 100% recommend.

A steamy bestfriend older brother contemporary romance with a sprinkle of mafia romance, this book gives you strong chemistry between Darius and Kami but also Kami with her best friends, Lavena, Sasha and Kas.
I love how these girls are each other ride or die. They literally would help you buried the body of your enemy.
While Darius and Kami, it was sweet at first when they both felt like it would be better to see the other alive with someone else instead of having them as yours but dead.
But then it got too much when they tought everyone is blind on their relationship. I mean, seriously the author tought both of them can f*ck like rabbit on steroid and no one will ever hear or know???

Like i said, just a sorinkle of mafia. When from the get go it was the other family threat that was the issue, and yet nothing happen until i start to skip pages. I was that boring with how Darius and Kami play their martir game.
And even when the mafia side finally strike, it was over before i got too excited... 🙄😔

Overall, this book is perfect if you love super steamy "touch her, you'll die" kinda guy with dirty talk aaaall the way, little angst, a hint of darkness and definilty a HEA.

I really enjoyed the relationships in this book. Kami and her "sisters" had the kind of closeness we all hope to have with our friends. They are a force to be reckoned with, especially Lavena. Each of these women are strong, capable, and not led around by their hormones. I also loved the dynamic and authenticity in the way the relationship unfolded and grew between Kami and Darius. Their interactions, motivations, and feeling felt believable. This is not an insta-love relationship but one that developed over previous years. Twisted Obsession is described as a "dark mafia" book, but I didn't find it to be too dark.

All, in all, this is a depth-filled book with great character development, a believable and well-written plot, and great writing that shows vs telling. The one thing that caused me to withhold a point is the editing issues: missing words, a few misspelled words, words inserted that didn't go with the sentence, etc. None of which really distracted me enough to want to stop reading. I look forward to reading more by this author.

First I need to mention I am glad I finished this book, but the first half felt like a lengthy introduction and revolved solely around the two main characters, their past and their current struggles. We got three spicy days but there wasn't anything more happening.
If you are happy with a spicy reunion of two lovers who were apart for too long that is your part.

After this first half the story really picked up the pace. I absolutely loved the interactions with all of the Medlock family, as reader I felt with both Kami and Darius and the looming threat didn't let me put the book down.
But I am convinced we will read more around the Medlock empire in the future and I am looking forward to it.

Twisted Obsession is the first book in the Twisted series. It has a phenomenal dark storyline focused around the Medlock family and their allied families. These people know how to turn on the high drama and keep the story compelling. There are twists and betrayals that keep you turning pages.

The characters are engaging and believable. Kamari (Kami), Kas, Levonia, and Sasha provide many laugh out loud moments, as well as a lot of introspection regarding their families' business. Darius and Kami brought the heat, big time. Their romance is steamy and lovely. Their relationship is one of a kind, and their love runs deep. These characters pull you into the story and make you vested in the outcome. I could not put the book down and read it in one day.

This was my 1st time reading a book by this author and I was hooked! Twisted Obsession is the story of Darius and Kami! It was very well written with an intense storyline! It was entertaining from start to finish and action packed! This book was filled with steam and sizzle with loads of plot twists & turns! It had well written characters with amazing chemistry. I could not put this book down. I laughed with the girls, wanted to cry with Kami, got pissed at Darius, enjoyed the heck out of the Sasha, Lavena and Kas.

Marcella, the queen of the family and Alexander the king … what a family this is and they have always looked after Kami.

Kami and Darius think they hide their feelings well .. but nope secrets out. A misunderstanding has them both in disparity and it’s funny as heck when Darius figures it out.

A great story and the ending has another question needing to be answered.

Wow if you enjoy racey and provocative crime fiction I have an idea you will enjoy this well written and exciting story. It isn't my usual genre but it certainly captured my attention and kept it with a plot that teased the imagination. The array of characters are vibrant, colorful and bold pulling you into their world capturing your heart with a story of strong woman , their amazing friendship through time and a steamy romance on the side or is it the other way around . Love the close-knit/ride-or-die girlfriend group and that they all live in the same building. Keeping their loved ones close and safeguarded was a must for Darius’ family, but his sister’s best friend Kami was one he was trying his hardest to distance himself from ever since he finished serving his time in jail. Knowing he was soon slated to step up as the Medlock family head, he had to keep his priorities straight, but there was no denying what he felt for Kami any longer, even when the stakes suddenly got much higher. Looking forward to the rest of their stories in this Twisted Series.

This was my first read by Airicka Phoenix. I found her writing to be dark & dangerous and romantic. I loved her strong female leads and alpha heroes. The main characters Kami and Darius catch and hold you from the very first page. Not only do you fall in love with them but with the story that have to tell as well. Once you read her work you will be asking for more. This is my true and honest opinion.

This is a well written dark romance with strong characters in Darius and Kami. The author does a great job developing the story and brings an intense storyline filled with drama, suspense and steam. Her scenes are painted perfectly and the story flows fluidly. I'm looking forward to the next book.

This is a great story with lots of plot and drenched in "super spicy" scenes. Airicka's words hook you from the start and pull you through her story making you not want to put it down! Kinda spoilers but not really??? I LOVE that the main characters are both readers and lovers of books!!! You never see enough of that in my opinion. This is definitely an author to follow! If Airicka is writing it, I'm reading it!
