Serenity Moon Resort is the ultimate private and luxurious island escape. Once you arrive here, tranquility is the only expectation. At least that was the case until a fiery blast sent the small island into a state of chaos.
FBI agent Alexa Landers has been out of the FBI academy for a short while. After solving a big international case, one that felt as though it took years off of her life. She can’t help but wish to be relaxing on a beach somewhere escaping from all her worries. Sadly, our wishes don’t always arrive the way we expect them to…
When a top Cuban diplomat is assassinated on a private island in Florida. Alexa and her team are sent there to investigate. A bomb seemed to have been detonated somewhere close to the helipad. Taking out the helicopter that was carrying the top diplomat during landing. With the resort guests and staff in disbelief, the place is sent into further panic when someone is found murdered within the resort.
Who would take out the helicopter and murder the resort guests? What are their motives, and does it have any connection to the secret US and Cuban meeting?
Nothing is adding up and the only thing certain is someone is desperate. Desperate enough to resort to kill anyone that gets in their way.
Elle Gray lives in a small town with her 2 cats, and her handsome husky. As a girl, she was obsessed with crime novels and thrillers.
Today, she loves writing and creating thrilling novels with courageous, strong heroes/heroines and dangerous psychopaths. She invites you to join her exciting world of detectives and FBI agents that take down killers and kick butt.
I give this one star. I am not a fan of Alexa always talking to herself. The entire case falls on her shoulders? She has a partner with more experience, but she always takes the lead, solves the case. Seriously? I am hoping the next book will be better. Just my opinion, sorry.
I’m not sure about this series. There are parts of the story line that keep you interested and wanting to find out more, and then there are parts that make you wonder how the book could have even been published with so many conflicting issues. For example, in book 1 it says Alexa spent 7 years at the FBI academy in Quantico, which is utterly absurd, and in book 2 she stares that she is 24 years old. How would that ever be possible? In addition to off timelines, there is also an over abundance of action words and phrases such as woosh!, wack!, and bang! It feels like you’re reading a comic book or even a very old episode of Batman with funny speech bubbles above. Seriously, how old is this author?
This was a great adventure, and full of pluck and determination for geting the truth, the WHOLE truth. Not for regard or power, but just because that is how the FBI and Alexa works. I loved this yarn, especially since we are up against anti-truth everywhere today. It was good to read about Kage and Alexa battling together just to find and un-cover the facts in the case, no matter where it led them!
While the initial reaction to what happened on the island was interesting enough the story that found the real source of the bombing was excellent. Alexa is one who wants to know who, why and how with facts. The actual people involved were a surprise. Excellent story.
This was a fantastic story about Alexa and partner Kage going all out to find what happen on the island . This book did not disappoint with lots of suspense and drama. Thank you Elle and James for a excellent book.
This was an intense, complex, and suspenseful thriller with many surprising twists all the way to the end. An intriguing series that you won't want to miss. I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding authors.
Another non stop, action packed turn pager, that keeps you guessing. Elle Gray never seems to disappoint. She keeps you guessing until the end, this one she never gave away or hinted to who it was. Excellent job as always.
Excessive use of exclamation marks….constant use of confusing italics…completely unrealistic plot….skip the whole series. Trash from start to finish. Sucks.
I love it when you can’t figure out “who done it” until the end. Well written and very believable plot. I will definitely be checking out the rest of the series.
I do like Elle’s other books, a lot. But this one, not so much. I’m tired of the attitude of female agents. This one was cockier than Blake Wilder! And the use of silly names every time like Mr Spit Bullits or whatever. I do however appreciate the lack of cuss words and especially using the Lords name in vain
