Harem grows
Alternate universe, magic, portals, harem adult situations
James keeps making promises and being slow on follow through. He's affectionate and and all, and rather open to adding yet more women to his harem. In the last book, he promised to give Jackie a commission for her help in getting James a new pickup. He didn't give her money when he bought the truck because he "didn't want to embarrass her" but later, bought her dinner and her commission money never came up again. James has gamed before, and when they found treasure, James kept all the money. More, thus far Lucy has reminded him that providing groceries for eight is expensive; he agreed, but never kicked in any extra funds. Now, he has been working very hard transforming the cabin to a house, but Lucy and Corinne were struggling to get by, and are now supporting more mouths. And a single chicken for eight people at dinner? Details. And now he's adding two more women to his household. On to book 9

Love This Series
It’s hard for me to decide what aspect of the story appeals to me most; if I had to narrow it down somehow I think I’d settle on “soul satisfying”. There’re no crazy plot twists, no armies of undead trying to end civilization; rather, the focus is on one man, his growing family, and one small village. I revel in reading the efforts each character invests in personal growth, relationship building, and strengthening the home and community. As one who has led a varied and sometimes tempestuous life, the way this story gently unfolds is truly appealing and satisfying. Glad I found you and your beautiful story, Author Bryce.

It stays good
Not much more to say, the series is good, the relationships and slice of life are heartwarming and the adventures are fun. I'm guessing the series will be wrapping up in a book or two, it looks like there is possibly one more harem member and no pressing adventures or danger anymore, just some fun magic and slice of life things going forward.

As James grows his knowledge and skill he also grows his family. I am hooked by the love and gentleness found in this story. It is heartwarming to feel good and also have some excitement throughout. Keep up the good work.

Cliff Hanger!
James has done it again. He vanquished a really evil spirit from the broken ground and rescued the Norms from their cage. Now I have to wait for number nine to find out more!

Great storytelling
It is nice to see a writer grow and bring his characters to life. Jack makes one truly care about each and every individual in his stories. Keep it up.
