Wow! How can each book in the series come off even more involved than the last which makes you keep turning pages and having to read the book in one sitting! This is the 5th book in the Romano Family Restaurant series and it is fantastic! With Gina and Jakes wedding coming so soon, Gina had taken the task of managing the Lake Basil Fall Fun Cook-off. Everything was going so smoothly. That is until Dave one of the chefs left his booth and hasn't been back. When Gina goes looking for him at his restaurant, she finds him mostly dead and her nemesis, Romeo Moretti comes in and sees her with the dead body and when her ex-boyfriend, Ryan, who is now the lead investigator shows up, he looks at her as the number one suspect, because Moretti throws her under the bus. There is so many twists and turns and snark and a wonderful protective Raven and of course Jake who is so supportive. We even have a kidnapping. Wow there is so much going on at once. Can Gina figure out whodunit? Can she do that in time to still have her happy ever after? I highly recommend this entire series and this 5th book in the series. I received and ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

Oh my goodness, I’ll change my mind and say this was my favorite of the series so far! There was plenty of action and suspense and even two mob members facing off against each other, but it all added up to the sweetest ending ever. And Gina. made her peace with that annoying crow who’d been following her since the last book and was actually useful to her in this one.

Will Gina and Jake take in the now technically homeless crow and more importantly, will the Moretti family ever get their comeuppance? I guess we’ll just need to keep on reading! I’m all ready for the next book which is slated to be the last, but maybe the author might change her mind and keep on going. I hope so!

I received a copy of Rosie's latest Romano Restaurant mystery. She does an excellent job of moving the story along. When a chef of another restaurant is found dead, Rosie must investigate. The Moretti family involves themselves in the death. When she again finds a body and it affects the cook off she has organized, she must investigate. When Salvatore Moretti involves himself it adds another element to the Romano/ Moretti relationship. She does an excellent job of pulling all the elements to a wonderful conclusion. A must read from Rosie A. Point

A deadly Cook-off!

The Fall Fun Cook-off in Lake Basil was supposed to bring in off-season customers for the local businesses. Instead of bringing profits, it brings squad cars and police tape when Gina finds a local chef on the floor of his kitchen. Will Lake Basil ever go back to the quiet, peaceful town it used to be?

I really enjoy this series. Gina and Jacob make a cute couple. The crow adds a new animal character with an interesting dialogue. I received a free copy but my review is honest and voluntary.

Complications for Gina

Gina finds a missing chef lying face down, and, of all people, Romeo walks in to see her. Gina, with Jacob's help, must find answers to clear her name. I especially enjoyed Raven's swooping in to help with the investigation.

I really liked this book!! It has a very twisted storyline. It was really hard to figure out who did it. I live it that Raven has a new home I think he will prove to be a great friend!!

Another wonderful mystery. A local restaurant owner is killed with antifreeze. Once again, Gina is on the case to solve the murder. Great characters and plenty of story that moves at a nice pace.

Raven

I think the crow Raven was a good addition to the book. The fight between Carly and Wes was good.

A chef's sudden demise

Gina has organised a Cook-Out and everything is going fine until Davey, one of the chefs, does not show up. Gina looks for him and is the one to find his prone body. Too many unsavory suspects make it difficult for Gina to pinpoint the culprit. An intriguing and enthralling page turner with humour and suspense. The characters and their attributes are well portrayed.
