Emily Tilton, whose books have hit number one on Amazon in six different erotica categories, wishes she could live out her fantasies of submission the way her characters do.

Emily's erotica is a narrative version of her nearly lifelong quest to reconcile her submissive erotic orientation with her ethics. She writes erotic romance, but her books are always frankly and unashamedly about sex, because writing about sex helps her understand that fundamental part of her life better. She hopes maybe it does the same for her readers.

Over the many years since Emily became aware of her sometimes unbearable craving for spanking, ravishment, and all the shameful things that go with it, she has tried to come to terms with that craving in more ways than she can count. The first of the ways was by reading, voraciously, every piece of BDSM erotica she could find.

Eventually, she read "Story of O." As is reflected throughout her work, it changed her life, though the change has been gradual, and continues to this day. The idea that other women might share the lusts she has by turns been ashamed of and defiantly proud of, that a woman like the real Pauline Réage might write so beautifully of those lusts, and work them out so thoroughly and even pitilessly on a character, put Réage's famous pencil in her right hand. Or, to put it in the terms of EXPLORATIONS, which she considers her magnum opus, it put her left hand on the keyboard of her laptop and her right hand in her lap, if you know what she means. Emily started to write spanking stories.

This is the compilation that tells the story of fantasy-Emily's whole wedding night, from the self-abuse in the bathroom to the bondage and shameful mouth-service at the end. It's the ideal introduction to what EXPLORATIONS is about. To be perfectly clear, and ensure that nobody buys something s/he already bought, this compilation includes Emily's Submissive Wedding Night, Emily's First Submission, Emily's First Spanking, Emily's Second Submission, and Emily's Dark Gift.

The whole project really stems from the fantasy wedding-night narrated here: at bottom (heh) it's a meditation on the actualities, the "realities," and my fantasies about what marriage is, and could be, but also about what we wish it were.

Written as a series of progressive events, from virgin on her wedding night...do they still occur?...into newly active sex life, but it is slightly muddled, as some of this seems to be based on fact, maybe Emily’s reality, then mixed with her ideal fantasies...especially that being forced into an act that causes initial anxt and humiliation. Without that reality v fantasy being very clear and specific; I’m not such a fan of this.

Did quite like the fantasy wedding night defloration of Emily and her intro to oral, vaginal and anal sex and how the husband becomes the dominant force meeting her needs for submission.

I’m also fine about anal sex, but not into atm or scat, so that to me was a complete turn off...if you think this is okay to read, fine, but please be aware of gut bacteria, some will make you extremely ill if you start copying activities in stories, and I know some folk do!

This was the first I’ve read anything by Emily Tilton, and I was interested enough to buy a couple more of her full length stories, first two of her Bound for Service stories and a historically based one.

Few editing errors for discerning readers, but not enough to mar the story.
Overall border 2/3 stars for me.

I have read Emily Tilton's blog before and have become such a fan that I was excited to dive into the first five books of Explorations. Emily has such a way of weaving a story that you feel like you are right there in the hotel room of fantasy Emily and her new groom Charles.

Explorations 1-5 takes place over the course of one night and explores Emily's need to submit to her new husband, doing all sorts of things she has only fantasized about before.

This was a smoking hot read, and I would only recommend you read it in the privacy of your own home. The community break room during your lunch break at work may not be the appropriate time or place (lesson learned).

I am giving it 4 stars for the writing and the story, but it left me wanting more!

This reads like a blog but also reminds me of how I started writing erotica. You need to learn about yourself before anyone else can please you and going on this tale of self discovery is the only way you will be truly sexually for filled

I would have liked this a little longer, maybe her first spanking at the end to finish it off more. I like the diary feel to these little fantasies.

This was much better as it didn't leave you wanting more. I love the way the author explains this is all in her head as well as the actual facts that happen in her life. You get a real understanding of Emily.
Explorations: Emily's Second Submission
You can feel the age play Emily must like in her fantasies. Not my type of fantasy but if it is this is a good one.
Explorations: Emily's Dark Gift
Yuck, not my idea of a turn on at the end but each to their own. But a good ending to the first part of the series.

This is 5 "books" - in my mind it's like 5 chapters - each "book" is about 10 pages! BUT there is a LOT in these 5 books. It is Emily's wedding night and she is just learning to submit. She has had dreams (and searches) on the subject and she is happy her new husband is taking her in hand. I love the way the author (Emily) tells the story. The way the book starts I thought it was taking place in the 1912 not 2012! I love the thoughts and actions of Emily and her husband. Can't wait to read the next book - Emily's First Caning.

2 and a half stars!!!
I'm not sure why I gave this so many stars....
I think it's maybe the way he treated her and the fact it was their honeymoon and he kept going over the fact that her puss belonged to him and not even herself is allowed to touch it....I dunno lol

This short short mighty freaking short little ebook was sooooo damn ermmmm *tapping lips to find right words* confusing springs to mind and ermmm unbelievable in some areas..

This little set and I have to get in that they were free on Amazon which I am so glad because I would of been pissed if I had paid for it.. but as I was saying, this little set confused me because the two MC's were speaking like they were both from the olden days and I thought to myself that maybe I read wrong and this was historical or something, and then the next swipe of the finger was telling me about underwear from Victoria's Secret and I was like *huh* I know that VS was not out in the olden days, so I just let it go but it did annoy how they spoke!!!

What I liked about it all was how much Emily wanted her new husband to dominate her and MAKE her do stuff that is classed as naughty or wrong and I fucking loved it!!!

This one was my favourites...

Scat play is not my thing at all but I have to admit that this one didn't turn me on or anything but I liked it because even though she wanted it, she had to let him know in a way that he had to make her and that's what I like, with my wife and we play I love hearing "If your gonna act like a slut, I will treat you like one" *shivers* or "If you want to come then you will do this or do that...won't you slave!!?" *hands are shaking*

So yeah this is something to look out for if you want a freebie but don't hold your breath, it didn't wow me apart from the last dairy entry... and I'm in two minds weather to carry on with them all...the vote is still out on it...

These ‘books’ are wicked, scandalous and deliciously sinful. In other words, it’s everything an erotica book should be. The five books take place over the course of Emily’s wedding night as her new husband introduces her to the carnal duties of a submissive wife. Each of the five books breaks new and forbidden barriers as Emily slips deeper down the rabbit hole of salacious depravity.

The stories are short, but well written. However, I must admit there were moments when I wondered if I was reading a work of fiction or the author’s autobiography. The author does a creative job of giving the reader the perspective of the night’s ‘festivities’ from the real Emily, the fantasy Emily and the fantasy husband’s point of view. A naughty sleigh ride of debauchery indeed.

Explorations_Books 1-5 captivated me, so now I’m compelled to read all the other books in the series to find out what other iniquitous things Emily does. After you read Books 1-5, I’m sure you’ll want to read all the rest too.

Short stories, more like fantasies, of a girl and her husband. That's really it - If you want to read something that isn't very "involved" but sexy, this is your book!

it is confusing and I didn't follow much.
I thought it would be the author's personal account of her couple's dynamic, but she constantly brings fantasies in lieu of her reality.
