"We all work to earn a living, I just do mine on my back."

Twenty-year-old Cadence is a prostitute , all she wants is to be free of her pimp and go back to school, her dream is to get her degree in Business. She finally has her chance, one more night and she’s free, all she has to do is stick to her rules…. Easy, right??? No.

How can the most important night of her life, lead her to one man who makes her feel things she shouldn’t feel then thrown into a whirlwind of misunderstandings and into a bigger debt she isn’t so sure she can get her way out of.

Blurred Lines Vol.1 is a short erotic read, think of it as a grittier, kinkier younger Pretty Woman. It was interesting enough that I picked up the second volume.

A little edgy Pretty Woman anyone?

This was a quick read that I didn't want to end. The opening to Blurred Lines is so in your face, there isn't any easing into what our female lead does for a living. Cadence is getting out of the business and all she has to do is finish one more job without screwing it up. Sometimes fate and chance have their own ideas about what path or room we end up in. Now, Cadence has found her prince ... her Richard Gere, but she gained a very pissed off pimp. Overall a good read.

What is pretty woman was unapologetically real. This is about a woman not ashamed to be a prostitute and the life she leads. Interesting use had this on my tbr for about 5 years glad I read it

HOT HOT HOT. I honestly don't want to remove this series from my Kindle carousel because I know it's going into the re-read pile. I like that these are short reads, but I would have liked to seen this all published as one novel.

This book just jumps right into the prostitution bit, and no forgiveness is asked or really even desired. It was a refreshing change of pace reading a totally different lifestyle. It's nice that she isn't just immediately delegated to "down on her luck", but more she choose this to survive and still has dreams ... hopefully she will achieve them without too much more sacrifice.

This book she meets John Cruze (I see what you did there). He just seems like a dreamboat, doesn't he? The fact she didn't recognize him right away was really cute too. This guy totally has my Team vote.

Fileze -- now that seems like a stand up guy. Or not. I'm expecting him to make a comeback in the later books, mainly because I would like to see where his and relationship started.

John Zane -- well ... shit. He just reads of nothing but bad news.

You know that Robin Thicke song? Blurred Lines? Yeah well I had that song in my head when I downloaded this book... then I had it in my head at certain parts during the book... all I'm gonna say is "But you're a good girl" *giggles*

Cute start to another serial series even though I hate serial series!

Just ok.
I hate these money spinner books that end on cliff hangers. This is not a complete story - not to mention in being a measly 50 pages - and the thought of paying for a semi story doesn't sit well with me.
It's all very HM Ward....
Not prepared to pay for another couple of chapters and support this 'ripping off your readers' tradition.
No thanks.

This book was amazing. I really like the story and the characters.
And the twist at the end of the book was awsome.
I can not wait to read the next book.

This may be a good 'ol classic plotline with the heroine working the oldest job in the world, but for me, this is new and fresh as this is my first time reading from the POV of a main character who is a hooker.

A brief side story. I was surprised to find this in my Play Books, only to find out later that I selected the wrong book. But I decided to jump right in and read anyway since it was only less than a hundred pages long. And I think I just experienced kismet in my reading because I practically devoured it in one afternoon! This is every woman's dream, and I mean every woman because who doesn't like to be like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman?

I am jumping right into the second installment. No surprises here if I get to the last book later tonight or something!

You can find this review at My Favorite Things

Blurred Lines by Breena Wilde is the first in a set of serial novels about Cadence and her two Johns (no joke).

So - Holy erotic, steamy goodness! My interest in this book was piqued with the whole hooker angle as I am eagerly awaiting the release of another book about a stripper. So glad I found this, so sad it's a serial that is still in progress. I have devoured the first three and the fourth has just ben released so that's bumped it's way to the top of my "to-read" list

Life can be tough and the life Cadence was raised in was much tougher than most. She does what she can to get by and when she has an opportunity to get out of prostituting and move on she takes it. However, one tiny slip up (and slip-in *grinning*) and things kinda start to fall apart for her, again.

Cadence's last client before freedom from her pimp - she just knows that skeevy SOB is going to have someone awful lined up for her, but wait, the guy's actually pretty awesome...huh!
A bathroom scene, hospital visit, and one blue room later and we end book one...

I LOVED IT!

HOLY CRAP, Such a HOT, STEAMY, SEXY and ALL AROUND AMAZING READ!!!

Part one of the Blurred Lines series introduces us to Candace and John Cruze. Candace is a hooker, and we meet her on her last night of working for her pimp Felize. Her last job is John, and when she meets him he’s completely different then her other clients. The sex between them is HOT HOT HOT and you can tell there is definitely something between them.

I loved Candace’s character, as she’s strong, doesn’t take shit from anyone, and knows what she wants! She’s not weak, and “Oh poor me”, she knows what she’s doing, and I loved that about her. At first I wanted to HATE John, knowing the synopsis of the book I couldn’t believe a hottie big time movie star would get a hooker, but once you finish this part of the story, you realize maybe you shouldn’t have hated him right off the bat. The way he treats Candace is so sweet, and once the whole picture is set, you fall in love with him.

When Candace gets back to her apartment, trouble arises, and where she ends up, literally just the description of the “Blue Room” scared the shit out of me. The other John, and how he treated her, pissed me off, and I hated him and his sleazeball goonies.

I loved this novella, and can’t wait to start Distorted Lines (#2), but as my promise to you readers, I always review the book after I read it before starting another, so everything is fresh.

Breena Wilde’s writing grabs you from the beginning, and doesn’t let you go. I was amazed by this story, and encourage all of you to pick it up. Now go pick it up, and I’m off to start book 2!

I wanted to read a book with a similar subject for quite some time now. I am really glad that I read this one because it was amazing, but extremely short.

The author is really talented, the book is well written and in a manner that makes you become more interested in the characters’ lives and also it makes it easy to connect with them.

This book is a must read mostly because it presents an aspect of our reality that we do not want to think about. This books makes us understand better that lifestyle, but without making the reader sick. What I mean is that the author chooses her words carefully so that the story is believable, but at the same time it does not show the really violent aspects of the lifestyle.

I loved Cade, I loved the fact that she wants more from life. I do not agree with her choices, not even a little bit, especially when I think about her clients’ wives and families. The book also depicts the scum of this society we live in.

John is very nice and all that, but I do not think that he is the right man for Cade. She needs to know that there is another way, that nice people do exist, but at the end of the day she needs someone who understand her better, she needs someone who stepped foot in her world before.

Even though we barely get to know the other John which from now on we will refer to as Zane I got the feeling that he would be a better fit for Cade, but we will see…

The book is written so that it is light and easy to read and in a manner that everyone would enjoy it. The cover is gorgeous and the title is a perfect fit.

Overall the book is great and you should definitely read it.

3 stars. This was a really fast-paced read. It's only 50 or so pages but I don't think that was really a downfall. I just kind of breezed through it and didn't really get to make a connection to any of the characters.

I really liked the story and the ending -cliffhanger alert!- was really well done. The writing was solid, the pacing was good but the character development was lacking tremendously.

Cadence, I'm not sure what I think about her. I didn't dislike her or anything but she didn't stand out in any way. I liked that she had her own set of rules to what she did and she stuck to them for the most part (we'll get to that in a second) and she wasn't ashamed of what she did for living. She was just kind of there but she was forgettable. I don't know, that's one of the bad things about these short stories, you can never get a good solid feel of the characters.

John #1 (I kid you, not. His name is John. I giggled like a 5 year old) was really generic. He's some famous somebody or something but he was boring to me. He was a nice guy and all but he had the personality of a wet mop. Dull. I have no doubt though that he'll grow on me as I continue on with the series.

John #2 a*k*a Zane doesn't show up until about the last three or four pages. I know absolutely nothing about him except that he might be some crazy sadist or something. Really interested in getting to know his character a bit more and see how he gets involved with Cadence's life.

Like I said, the cliffhanger ending was really great so I will definitely be continuing on with this series.

This is surprisingly a very interesting story & I'm drawn in! Cadence is a hooker & she really isn't apologetic about it - her career goals are to leave her pimp & break out on her own. But her pimp gives her one job to complete first before he'll cut the strings from their business relationship. In an upscale hotel there are two penthouse suites & unfortunately her pimp gives her the wrong suite number which leads us down a problematic road for Cadence. She meets John Cruze, a beautiful sexy man & she wonders what the catch is. They end up having a rather normal sexual experience, almost romantic and definitely very hot with lots of chemistry! A little mishap on a slippery bathroom floor lands Cadence in the hospital where she discovers exactly who John Cruze is & he is most definitely not the man who was to be her john that night. Now her pimp is suffering the consequences of the mix-up & threatens Cadence's life. Cadence's real john is John Zane, not bad looking, definitely knows his way around a woman's body but he is extremely kinky. And when the story ends you get the sense that John Zane is very dangerous & Cadence could very well be in danger. Will she ever see John Cruze again? It is obvious that he is infatuated with her & one night might not be enough. Will he seek her out? Can he save her? Can't wait to read book #2!!

This story is good. Candace is smart, frank and no non sense. She is jaded in a a way but vulnerable enough that John gets under her skin in the short time she is with him. Zane is scary as fuck. I loved this but hated that this ended where it did.

As much as I enjoyed this story, I hated that it was a short story. I loved the characters of Candace and John. Even Zane is some what intriguing.

But....I am inpatient. Give me a whole story. Their are a lot of lil series out that after I read the first in the series when it is free I find are really great. This one I found to be really great. But I hate all the small installments. When or if this series is put in a bundle or is published in a single book I will snach it up, until then I will wait.

Quick read. I really wish that people would just write a book an not publish 50 pages at a time.

It was a good start to a series, but really charging for this is a bit much. If author just sat down and put everything together, she'd have a decent sized book. I'm not a fan of this type of marketing at all.

This is MY opinion. I think the storytelling is solid. The author can write. I have NO qualms on her writing. I just question not writing a complete book and releasing it that way. Something like this belongs on wattpad or the like. Not for sale until it's finished.

I read some great reviews about this book that I thought it would be a quick & good read.

I’m afraid this book didn’t do it for me. It’s very short (not that I hold that against it), and while the plot seems promising the end was so harsh & cruel it didn’t left me wanting more.

Perhaps I shouldn’t have read something happy and funny before starting this one.

This writer needs some tips from Ms. H.M. Ward on cliffhangers.

Breena's new adult series is HOTT! It's my new guilty pleasure. It's so real to hear about the life Cadence leads. Yes the volumes are small, but they are packed with so much it's almost overwhelming, ha, who am I kidding....it leaves you screaming for more! More John! More Zane! Everyone needs to read this series!

This was a great first book from Ms. Wilde. It was a little predictable to me because of the synopsis but it was still very interesting. With this short story, I actually didn't feel as if the story was too short and rushed like with normal short stories. However, I did feel like the sex scenes were a little rushed. By the end though, it kept me intrigued and I can't wait to read the next one.

I really enjoyed this book- it was super exciting. Then- It abruptly ended, and I was left hanging. I did not realize this was part of a 6 PART SERIES! ugh...I will definitely continue the series, but will stop if it doesn't live up to the first book. I was just getting into the characters when this book ended- was pretty sad for that!

Cadence is a hooker. And this is her final job, she will be free. But he is not like she expected. He is sweet, tender, and he also takes care of her, she must be a lucky girl if this is her final job. There is more between Candence and John
Bit then something happens, and her life is like hell, she is in danger.

So, THIS IS WHAT
WHAT??????
I MEAN REALLY WHAAATTT????
After you made us tasted something good and then BOOOM you threw us and stepped on us like a trash when 'the real one' collected what he paid for.
and it's hard. totally hard. hardcore. beyond what you think of hard.
then, when I knew I also like this side of the real one, then you made us to read her feelings towards the other one.

Very hot. I love fast pace at the beginning and the happy story line...but it can never be that easy! I didn't expect the twist or the dark turn that it took. Poor Cadence. And then a cliffy. Ahh!!! I'm off to buy the second book. Can't wait to see what happens...

There are bits of this book I really liked and other bit which I didn't like very much and though unnecessary to the story. However for a short read I thought the book was very thorough and I will be continuing on with the rest of the series.

Talk about leaving a book on a cliff hanger!
