Fighting the Furies and Becoming a Sister of Mercy

I gave this book a rating of 5 because I loved everything about the book. Once the trials of the Thieves Guild was over for Anais her and four others were sent on a mission to fight furies on the front line. The members were Mal , Justin , Fallon, and Azriel. Anais started to get feelings for for Azriel. While out fighting the furies 3 of the members of their team died, but it wasn't furies that killed them. After that Anais and the other living member camped in a cave until the fat man whom is also a mage called them back. He read their minds than gave them different missions. Anais mission was to become a sister of mercy. In order to become a sister of mercy Anais couldn't speak until she was promoted to sister of the cloth. While she was a novice she had met someone that was important to her. Once she was promoted to sister of cloth she was sent to become Lady Meriada's sister of mercy. I would recommend this book to anyone that loves magic and books from an older time period.

This third book in the Blood Mage Chronicles wimps out at the end. While all three books were short, quick reads, the first two were cliffhangers, and the third ends with an arranged marriage, and only the intrigue of a dysfunctional family. The author says we must wait until next year for a fourth story. Anais the hero grows ever stronger in power, and loses all but one of her strong companions. More could be said about the secret societies of cloistered sisters, and their magical pre-Christian rituals. Anais' protagonist Fat Man/Gable fades into the background, while he still pulls the strings on the minds of his gang members.

I enjoyed this the most of the three books so far as the story is really getting into its stride.
The only frustration is waiting for book 4 to see where Jamie is going.

I suspect the story will improve with each book as the world and its inhabitants are more fully formed.

Into the 3rd books and it just keep getting better. Love the romance, not too mushy just enough to blend in well with the story. Now I have to wait for the 4th book.
