The Children of Lot

Rate this book
Life as a middle school principal can be humdrum, and so was the case for Suzanne Clay. Everyday it was the same thing, filling out detention slips and dealing with fist fights between boys and the cliquishness among prepubescent girls.
Everything changed when she met the Children of Lot and got caught up in their strange prophecy.
Along with Suzanne, the special education teacher and a handful of students find themselves locked in a potentially deadly and mind-altering encounter with the Children of Lot.
It is an encounter that will test everything within Suzanne just to survive and get her students out of harm’s way. At every step, a new danger rears its horrible head, and she battles wits with the sly and crafty leader of the cult, who will stop at nothing to make sure God smiles on his people.

This story is a take on religion that shows the dark, controlling side and how it effects people. There is a large grey area between believing and controlling. Vic skillfully takes you back and forth across this area as you meet the Hassle's and begin to understand what is happening on this farm. The principle of the school is trying to get the children educated, as she must do by law. But in doing so she becomes entangled in rituals that are life threatening. And no one is around to help.

This was my first published novel. I think it is very dark and not everyone's cup of tea.

This novel is horribly disturbing, wonderfully terrifying, beautifully gory, and extremely triggering. I loved every page I turned reading this. I’ve been reading so many different novels for my schooling, this was just the book I needed to read to take a break from the chaos. It’s 415 pages, I chunked that down in less than two days because of how great the writing is, how intense the plot becomes, and how well the story progresses. This man is truly talented in the disturbing and unsettling. I would recommend to anyone who enjoys horror, feeling disturb, wants a story that is totally different from anything they’ve read, and maybe feel a bit sick from words on a page. This book will stay in my all time favorite reads. I cannot emphasis enough that it is deeply disturbing, excessively violent, and extremely raw. All of the things I enjoy to write and read.

I purchased The Children of Lot at a festival I was working at, I met the author and dug his spooky vibe so I knew I had to get one of his books before I left. This book seriously makes the movie I Spit on your Grave seem like a child's movie! *This book isn't for ones with weak stomachs*! There's so much suspense and excitement throughout the entire book, you'll literally get addicted when you start the first chapter. It's been a hot minute since I've had a good scare, and I'm thrilled to say this book gave me my dose of horror filled chills for Halloween! This author really won me over with the never ending creepy Alabama night twists and turns, and now if you'll excuse me, I'm about to go buy Jubilee!

Good story from the start.

The book moved fast, it doesn't draw out any chapters. It keeps you guessing and wonder if this crazy stuff really if happening today. A religious cult with an insane leader full of imbreds CV is trying to fulfill its prophecy. It's been years in the making and it seems that only Ms. Clay is the only one not aware of this. There is no one she can trust. Lots of twists and turns.

THE CHILDREN OF LOT is an unsettling story. I liked it. A lot. It straddles a fine line on a topic that can be sensitive, even to horror readers. Be prepared for a range of emotions. This is no one-note tune. Kerry rocks out a well-rounded story and developed characters that will only continue to tighten their initial grip on readers as they turn each page.

Children of Lot

This book will be the craziest SCARIEST book you will read for some time. The rape killing and torture are just the start of the EVIL you will find in these pages. The religious fanatic looking to be the leader of his OWN church is BEYOND EVIL . YOU WILL NOT SOON FORGET THIS TALE. I RECOMMEND and would give this book an 8 rating if possible
