"Torn between two lovers..."

This lyric "Torn between two lovers feelin' like a fool." a "pop" song by Mary MacGregor from the 1970s, just insinuated itself in my thoughts after finishing this very naughty, actually more like, filthy... and this is good thing... story.

The heroine of the story, Nonnie Crawford, narrates the story in the first person, beginning with the night of her divorce celebration. It is at this party held in a local nightclub that she locks eyes with the "businessman". We are talking about the kind of heated look that shoots through your body, ignites all your cells and starts you shivering with barely contained lust.

After sharing this look with "him", he seems to disappear only to reappear before her in the hall outside the women's restroom. He holds out his hand and ignoring her usual good sense, Nonnie takes a chance. She could not ignore the magnetism of attraction she felt for "him" and is lured into his Dominant's kiss and embrace.

He proceeds to bind her hands with his tie and speaking to her for the first time he says, “I’ll let you go if that’s what you want.” He gives her the chance to opt out of going any further. She stays and he shows her a glimpse of his brand of intimacy... described in delicious detail!

Unable to forget her encounter with the businessman, she follows a "trail of breadcrumbs" to a BDSM club. It is at this club she meets the "playboy" Dom, Michael. He is a swoon-worthy man with the blue eyes of a wolf. I love the fact the author describes his eyes like those of a wolf. How perfect!

He is attracted to Nonnie because of her beauty and latent sexually submissive nature, a potent aphrodisiac for any seasoned Dom. Our heroine's interactions with the "playboy" vascillate between scorching hot to WTF? Be prepared for some hard core BDSM described in detail. While the scenes are down and dirty... everything falls into the safe, sane and consensual bubble thus far.

While caught in a particularly revealing... you might say exhibitionist moment, Nonnie locks eyes once again with her businessman across the room. This look is unmistakably filled with full on anger.

Ultimately, each of these Doms extends an offer to her to help her discover her unique innate sexuality. She is explicitly told by the businessman that she needs to refuse the playboy before she accepts his offer.

What's a newly divorced girl to do? Nonnie has a plan, yet something tells me that not all is going to go the way she planned... Excellent set up for the series.

I cannot tell you who the hero in the story is. I'm personally "torn" between the two. There is a subtle hint that each of these men can be more than a Dom in Nonnie 's life. And...each of them acted somewhat like a cad toward Nonnie. Both are irresistible to the lover of a darker shade of romance.

Nonnie Crawford was celebrating her divorce with her friends from her High School loser. When out of the corner of her eyes she notice an attractive alluring sexy Businessman, they made eye contact. As most women know don't make or keep eye contact with a man without consequences and Nonnie found that out as soon as she excused herself to go to the bathroom.

Who knew a trip to the bathroom could lead to a night Nonnie would never forget and now she in search for something she never knew she would like.

*Amazon Freebie* Oh, man, what can I say? To me, this just went downhill from about 60% in. First and foremost, I am not in the life. I don't know exactly what goes on, what is expected of doms, but to me, both of these men suck in their responsibility. I wanted to shake this heroine and throw my book at the wall. I felt the same thing while reading one of the Twilight books.

Either Male Lead: "Here honey, you are pretty and seem submissive. You don't need to know anything about me or what I'm gonna do or what is expected of you. I know you just met me, but trust me, I know what I'm doing."
Her: "O.K."

I call bullshit for any thinking woman. For someone who is strong enough, and sick and tired enough, to get herself out of a crappy marriage, this doesn't work for me.

"To be fair, my brain still worked. I simply ignored it."

Hah, this was a fun unexpected read! We dive right into the good stuff with Nonnie [side note, I kinda hate that name and Gibson, but what can you do?] who eye locks with The Businessman at a bar, and minutes later he has got her trussed up, ass out and taking a spanking in the hallway. HOT. When Nonnie later ends up at a sex/BDSM club, she finds Michael who also introduces her to the painful side of a belt and exhibitionism and frustration. She makes her way back for another night with The Businessman, now Gibson, only to be used again, only in a much different way.

There is obviously some sort of beef between these two guys, but I'm looking forward to the following sequels as she picks and chooses who is next on the list and how to conquer him.

Deena Ward is new to me and I picked up her first book as a “free” read on Amazon. I don’t like trilogies - I am fed up with them and the wait to find out what happens to the characters so I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this author had already released books 2 and 3 and book 4 is currently being written with a release date in 2013 so that was a positive start.

The Power to Please, is a four-part series of novels chronicling Nonnie Crawford’s journey into the alluring but sometimes dangerous realm of BDSM.

Coming out of a boring and disastrous ten-year marriage, Nonnie is looking for something different sexually.

This is what Deena Ward introduces us to in the first chapter:

The first time Nonnie sees him she is in a bar celebrating her divorce. He is standing by the bar, his shirt collar was open - no tie. He was classically handsome, tall, powerful looking and built. Their eyes connected and locked into place and the Businessman looked, he just looked. Tonight Nonnie experienced something different - attraction, sexual attraction with a stranger.

Coming out of the ladies Nonnie is stopped by the Businessman and he grins, and that grin issued an invitation, it said to Nonie “come on, do you dare”? Nonie ‘s body triumphed over her brain as the Businessman moved in and kissed her……not just a normal open mouthed kiss, he claimed her in that kiss. In one swift movement the Businessman seizes her hands, raises above her head and turns her to the wall, his body smashed against her back. He secured her hands - she was bound, helpless and looked up to see what holds her in place. The Businessman’s tie.

What takes place in the back hallway provides Nonnie with a sensual seduction and she wants more but he leaves her without telling her his name.

Nonnie's search for the Businessman leads her to a BDSM club and there she meets Michael Weston, a charmer but a Scorpion in disguise and he moves in and seizes the reigns that the Businessman has left dangling.

What happens next leads to two Doms’ vying for her submission. The enigmatic Businessman and the charming Playboy. So who does she choose and who will she trust?

Overall, Deena Ward has produced an excellent and creative plot and enthralling read. A good clear writing voice. The story moves at a good pace pushing me forward to finding out what is in store in book 2 and 3.

I thought this book was well-written and sexy as hell.

It's fairly rare to find a BDSM romance with steamy sex scenes, a heroine you can relate to and an actual plot. Also, the main character, Nonnie, isn't some twenty year old virgin twit bumbling through her first relationship. The fact that Nonnie’s been there done that makes her sexy new encounters more interesting.

I often find sex scenes, even in BDSM books, to be mechanical somehow. There's no build up. No pacing. No drawing the moment out. In so many books, the scenes have not much more impact than if the author had just written "he did this then she did that then they went to get pizza." That is certainly not the case here. I thought the sex scenes were smoking hot.

This would probably be the place to mention that the BDSM scenes in this book aren't like those you might find in "Fifty Shades of Grey" where the hero only displays a few tools of the trade and points menacingly at them once in a while to make the heroine swoon. A couple of the scenes are more harsh than I expected. Not that he's hanging her from the ceiling and inviting in the neighborhood to have their way with her or anything like that. Just be aware.

I guess my only real complaint was that the book wasn't all that long. Not like it's one of those series where the author takes one book and splits it into eight chunks to make more money off of us. It was a full sized book I just hated for it to end. And, although it wasn't a cliff-hanger, it ended right after Nonnie had made an important decision which sort of irritated me but then there was a sneak peak of book two at the end so that was nice.

I don't read many errotica books when one was offered for me to read for an honest review I said why not. I could use a little sexy right now. oohwee.. I got my sexy alright. right off the bat your thrown into a hot sceen with Nonnie and a hot businesses type guy. it was steamy and naughty and the bad girl in me loved every second of it. totally set the precedence for the entire book.

Nonnie was a newly divorced woman set out to start over. Nonnie was married to a worthless man who did nothing but zap the life out of her and so when she was thrust Into the world of BDSM it scared and fascinated her at the same time. she's never really had much of a sex life before and now she's got offers from two extremely sexy men. both so different but both with the offer of pleasure beyond her wildest dreams. should she do this? who would she choose? she can't have both or can she.

in my opinion I loved both men. one young and sexy playboy and older and sophisticated business man. your darn right I'm getting the second book right now. I can't wait to get my heart pounding and see how much more I can blush. I loved the story beyond the sexiness and I really need to find out more.

I have sat down to write these reviews (books 1 to 3) no less than 6 times. Honest. But I'm so messed up. I knew after finishing book 1 that I needed to stop and write the first review before continuing on with the series. Well it turned out, I NEEDED to know what happened next more than I needed to write the review. So here I am days later still trying to string coherent sentences together when I don't have words. I just have feelings.

Let me tell you one thing, that encounter in the hall was hella hot!

My brain seemed to stop working, as if I could only experience the world through this sensation, this heavy sensuality that hung
between me and The Businessman.

Although this book was short, I think I read it in about an hour and a half, I had an opinion all the way through about which person Nonnie should choose to introduce her properly into the BDSM world. I definitely got hot under the collar a few times, yelled at Nonnie when it came to Michael {he just really wound me up, and not in a good way!}, and swooned over The Business Man. I don't think it was as it seemed with him. And I was just overall really into the story. I love books set in and around sex clubs!

image

I was impatient and anxious for book 2 and got straight into it. I needed to know what trouble Nonnie was gonna get herself into. Pronto...Great first book - It ticked all the boxes - HOT. MYSTERIOUS. ENGROSSING. It gets the seal of approval from this little black [horny] duck. Well done Ms Ward!

How do I even start..

It may have been short, but it was well worth the read. And it definitely got me hot under the collar a few times. However, what really thrills me is the fact that it showcased BDSM in a healthy light.
Since Nonnie, the main character, is a newbie when it comes to BDSM, I was incredibly happy when the author introduced Elaine, another female character whom Nonnie meets at the sex club and who knows the ups and downs of BDSM. She helps Nonnie get a better grasp of what BDSM is about and gives her a list of websites to browse, so she can educate herself about what she might be getting herself into.

Doing research and knowing what you might step into, I'm all about that! and I'm so clad that Ward put that into her book. “Safe, sane, and consensual”. I drink to that!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I liked the fact that this story wasn't just some sex scenes thrown together (and oh boy, the sex was smoking hot!), but it had plot and had good characters. It moved at a nice, healthy pace and drew me into the story.

My only real complaint is about the decision Nonnie makes in the end, it sort of irritates me, but ... anyway, beside that I'm looking forward to continuing the series.

Let's see... where to start. The book was written in first person, from Nonnie's point of view. Starting out, her character was fine. Recent divorcee out on the town, meet's sexy Guy A and has some shady bar sex. Then it starts going down hill. A week after that, she goes to 'sex club' with some random chick, meets Guy B, and does more crazy sex stuff,

I don't live the lifestyle, but through my research I KNOW a Dom/sub relationship is a power exchange. A contract with hard and soft limits. There's some discussion before any of the crazy sexcapades and there's never any. There were punishments, belt beatings from Guy B,(Even though she told Guy B 'I'm not looking for a beating' he does it anyway. Charmer.), and huge black dildo usage without her consent from Guy A. And that dildo hurt her, she was screaming and not in the good way. But it's all good because Guy A sexed her up and apologized later. Oh, and it was her fault because she shouldn't think she deserves a reward for pleasing him, EVEN THOUGH NONE OF THIS WAS DISCUSSED.

For a woman who's suppose to be strong and independent, Nonnie's easily manipulated, used and abused. These men treat her horribly, but it's all covered up by other's saying 'he likes you, he keeps talking about you, blah'.

Augh...

I usually can find something to like about a book and I don't give 1 star reviews but this book has driven me to it. I didn't like one single thing about this book. The female lead was completely ignorant as written. She's the stuff of news headlines and murder mysteries. The idea of her going to a dark hallway with a stranger and then letting him restrain her is completely ridiculous. This action is followed by more of the ridiculous which I can't state here because it would be spoilers, but suffice to say, it's unbelievable and unrealistic, even for a novice. The male characters were supposedly experienced Dom's, but they come off more as egotistical, violent, selfish, non-discriminatory jerks. Perhaps a bit more research into the subject matter would have led this story in a totally different direction.

So wow. What a ride. Not an action-packed ride, but more of an emotional ride. I don't want to give too much away, but I don't see why these men are treating Nonnie like they do when they both know she's not familiar with the lifestyle. This is brand new to her, and she can't possibly understand why they're doing what they're doing, yet they balk when she verbalizes exactly what I would in her situation! Like how dare she have those kinds of expectations? It just seemed so unfair. But her journey so far has been so interesting. I'm pretty sure she's making a huge mistake at the end of this one so I'm going to have to keep reading. Besides, I want to see where her journey leads her. Kinda hot, but definitely intriguing.

Decisions, decisions, decisions! Sexy & steamy, I enjoyed the writing style and felt connected to the characters. I also greatly appreciated Nonnie being experienced and smart, rather than one of the seemingly endless innocent and naive females written about. I have already bought book two and can't wait to start!

First off, let me say. What. The. Fluck?!

I’m going to keep this review short and sweet. Just like this book was. Oh wait. It wasn’t sweet at all. It was ridiculous. I have no idea how I finished this. I must have just been desperate to get my reads up. Haha. So desperate. Jesus.

Let me start by talking about the characters. I hated every last one of them. Gibson the first man… I feel like “man” is just not the right word. Men don’t act like this, do they? You know what? I’m getting off topic. Gibson. Is the first man that Nonnie meets in the story. He is the Businessman that the book is based on. Why? Because for the first three-quarters of the book, Nonnie never even knows what his name is. All she knows is that he is a businessman. No, she doesn’t know that he is a business man. She just assumes that, from where she sits in a bar with her friends as she is celebrating her divorce, that he is a businessman. I’m not saying she’s wrong. She’s just assuming. I will get to her. I promise. Anyway, he never really speaks to her. He just follows her to the bathroom and waits outside for her to come out so that he can steal her to the end of a dark hallway and have his way with her. I will get to this when I get to Nonnie. I’m still shaking my head. It’s ridiculous. RI-DIC-U-LOUS! Then he never tells her his name. He never says it. Ever. She has to figure it out. Even after he gets all jealous and takes her to his hotel for a quick interrogation/screw. Yes, I know. Like I said. I’m shaking my head at this crap.

Nonnie. You all can’t see it but I’m sitting here with my glasses and looking over the top. You know how your teacher’s used to scold you because you were doing something wrong? This is just all wrong and ridiculous. I can’t find another word to describe this book other than ridiculous. I’m sorry. Slap me later. That’s what I get for reading this book. Here I have yet again gone off topic and made this review so much longer than it truly should be. We have Nonnie. A newly divorcee who has spotted Gibson across the room in a bar and let him lead her to the end of the hallway in a public bar and screw her brains out. But wait! First, he pushes her against the wall and restrains her. I’m sorry didn’t you just meet this man? Is this not how movies about people who were kidnapped or killed are started? Or hell, is this not a news broadcast waiting to happen? No? Ok, Then you decided to come back the next day and see if said Businessman was here again. Nope. He’s not. He has sense. A one night stand is a one night stand. Then you met cute blonde girl…was she blond? I don’t remember. That’s how forgettable she was. But she offers you to go to a sex club. Girl. That’s fine. Whatever. Curiosity is awesome I guess. But then you left her for this dude, Michael. Who pretty much did the exact same thing that Mr. Businessman did. Took you in the back and screwed you. But nope. He decided to do it in a little room where you could watch someone else go through some pain and didn’t even tell you that those people could see you and then treated you like a piece of trash. Whatever. Do you boo boo.

I don’t have an issue with any of that. I mean I do. I have an issue with this book being about BDSM and how things get started I guess, but neither one of these men had the decency to tell Nonnie anything about what was supposed to happen. How she was supposed to act. They just did whatever they wanted and went along their ways. What the hell. If any dude did half the things these men did to me that they did to her? I’d be ready to cut somebody. You explain yourself, first sir. If that’s what you’re into. Don’t assume. That’s what I learned from this book. Do not assume. At least with me.

Anyway, I like the concept just the follow through was bad. It was hot right from the jump. If I don’t think about the idiotic lady and the asshats. I don’t know what to say about this really. I won’t buy the next one but meh. Whatevs. I’m still shaking my head at the characters.

Oh wait. I take it back. I liked Elaine. She was not a nut job. I mean, yes, she was into the scene but at least she owns it and doesn’t look or come off as a moron. Let me stop I can’t take it.

*I was gifted this book in exchange for an honest review.*

I was immediately intrigued to read this book for three reason: 1) the synopsis, 2) the cover, and 3) BDSM. This is my first book of Deena Ward and I will just say this now…I’m a fan and will continue to read and anticipate her work.

Let’s get into it.

I loved everything about this book. Doesn’t take long to get to the first steamy sex scene of the book and I’m glad because after reading the synopsis all I could think about was what specifically was going to happen (in detail) in this hallway in the back of a bar. And I was very much satisfied and unsatisfied at the same time, both in good ways.

So the first time we meet said “Businessman” he does wonderful things to Nonnie, but yet leaves her wanting. The whole scene was hot and got my blood flowing just like an erotic novel should. The descriptions of the scene were very detailed and painted a perfect picture in my head. Also had my adrenaline running high as if I was right there watching it take place or imaging myself as Nonnie. So when “The Businessman” left Nonnie wanting…well can you guess it I was left wanting as well…to know what the hell was going to happen next. Knowing the specific details of that scene just hooked me in even further.

Some of my favorite parts were Nonnie’s inner dialogue. Felt like I was reading the way I talk and converse with my friends on paper. Some of her inner dialect had be cracking up. I loved it because there are some intense moments and a little comical relief is very well placed. If the whole book were serious it would have lost its appeal even though the main appeal is SEX.

I loved that even though the book is titled The Businessman’s Tie, it wasn’t all about one man in Nonnie’s life. She is introduced (somewhat) to another male character, Michael Weston.

There were things I loved about Michael and things I didn’t like. For one, I loved the way he would talk to Nonnie in this way that he was saying something serious and she would question whether or not she would want to go through with it, but couldn’t say no to him. I have experience with that so I could relate. What I didn’t like is that when she would ask questions he would kind of dismiss them as if they weren’t important or that she should do and then ask questions. Also, he would say she didn’t need to worry about certain things, that that was left for him to worry about. Ummm excuse me, if this is my first time experiencing the world of BDSM I want all my questions answered first Mr. Weston, I mean I’m still going to oblige, but I would just feel a lot more comfortable with answers prior to.

Near the end of the book we get a better taste of “The Businessman” and I must say he wasn’t what I expected, especially not after that hallway scene. However, having him turn out not how I expected was great, kept me on my toes as I read. For Michael it kind of felt like the whole experience with Nonnie was a fun game, but with “The Businessman” it was serious and definitely not a game. There was a point in the story with him and Nonnie, that was a bit harsh, and it shocked me just a bit because I wasn’t expecting it at all. Again not predictable, and I found that refreshing.

I won’t go further into what takes place because I don’t’ want to give anything away, but Nonnie has to make a choice and her decision is most likely what I would have done as well. That decision is why I can’t wait to read book 2…The Playboy’s Proposition.

I give it 4.5 stars not 4.

Oh my goodness, this book was absolutely fantastic. It may have been short, but it was well worth the read.

In The Businessman’s Tie, Nonnie Crawford is a 29 year old recent divorcee who is out one night with her friends at a bar. When she spots a handsome stranger, a little older than her, staring at her from across the room, she starts to wonder if she’s ready to dip her toes back into the dating pool. Her friends convince her to introduce herself, but before she works up the nerve to do that, she heads to the bathroom. What happens next sets her world a-spinning.

Nonnie discovers a side of herself she didn’t even know she had. And thoughts of The Businessman, as she calls the handsome stranger from the bar, plague her every waking moment. She decides she needs to see him again.

While at the same bar, Nonnie meets Lilly and ends up in the last place she’d ever expect herself to be. And what happens there is like nothing Nonnie has ever seen or experienced before. Now she is torn…

Nonnie has a choice to make after meeting up with The Businessman once more. Should she accept his offer, or should she give herself up to Michael, the other handsome man who wants her for five nights, to show her what could be…?

This book has made me insanely happy. Not only is it properly written and showcases BDSM in a healthy light, it also uses the phrase “safe, sane, and consensual.” And at one point, another female character that Nonnie meets, Elaine, gives her a list of websites(not in the story) to browse so she can educate herself about what she may be getting herself into.

Oh gosh, that just puts a huge smile on my face. As an advocate for educating yourself, doing your research, and knowing that it’s all about being safe, sane, and consensual, I am beyond thrilled with this book.

It is sexy, steamy, and just overall a really, really fantastic read. It’s also NOTHING like that Book That Shall Not Be Named, which people are looking to as a manual or guidebook for exploring BDSM. No, no, no. That depicts unhealthy relationships and abuse. Please don’t read that. Read this instead.

Anyway, I am definitely looking forward to continuing the series, which includes, as of right now, The Playboy’s Proposition and His Name is Sir.

If you’re looking for an indie author who knows her stuff, writes beautifully about BDSM, and leaves you wanting more, then definitely buy yourself a copy of The Businessman’s Tie. I can guarantee you won’t regret it.

Nonnie Crawford is nearing thirty and out celebrating her divorce with a group of girlfriends when she locks eyes on the man across the bar. He's attractive, and intense. His suit is well cut and his collar's open. The eye contact is broken, but, while freshening up, Nonnie talks herself into approaching him.

Guess this stranger had the same idea, because when she opens the lav door he's in the hallway. And the things they get up to in that hall are deliciously naughty.

And involve a tie...which she finds tucked into her purse the next morning.

Nonnie is awakened in a way she cannot forget. To her shame she stalks the bar on other nights to find the anonymous man who makes her dreams go nuclear. He doesn't show but she's befriended by another young woman who convinces her to investigate a rumored sex club. They go, and there Nonnie meets Michael Weston--a swoony playboy-type who happens to be an avid Dom. Michael makes it clear he'd like to get to know Nonnie. Intimately.

And, of course, The Businessman--aka Gibson Reeves--shows up, too.

In the meantime Nonnie's voyeuristic cherry is popped, and she has offers from both Michael and Gibson to be their submissive. It's heady, and hot, and Nonnie's not sure what her friends will think of this wild side. So she keeps it quiet...

Still, she knows the things that either of these men can do will turn her inside out and sideways--in a very good way. Big decisions ahead for this novice. And they all point toward OH! OH! OH!

I just fell into this series and loved the blend of mature woman/insecure submissive that is Nonnie. She wants so much to find that all-encompassing love any gal dreams of, and the sensory overload she experiences with both Michael and Gibson take her to a place she mistakes for love, in some ways.

After I finished THE BUSINESSMAN'S TIE I went back and bought the four-book set. Right there you know I loved it.

I have tried to give myself a night to figure out just exactly I wanted to say about this book. It irked me, from the very beginning. I am sorry but I am fairly certain that people in the ACTUAL BDSM lifestyle do not just "know". I am also bothered that both men were so willing to show their true colors without knowing anything about Nonnie. How did they know they could trust her to keep their secret? Because she and Gibson shared a moment across a crowded room? Because she was willing to see what happened at the night club? Not only that the guys were egotistical, rude, and they both mistreated her. Neither were in any agreement with her for her to be "punished". Neither explained to her much of anything. I can't even be bothered to read the other two books as I can already imagine how it will play out. One will be a bad guy (obviously, it's a typical love triangle), one will really be a good guy but with a strong/tough reputation and exterior. She will be hurt by the bad guy, fall for the good guy...marriage and kids and playtime in their sparetime. How so very trite, and also so very unresearched. Thank God this was free, because I would be upset if I had paid for this garbage.

Thinking about BDSM has always made me a bit uncomfortable. I tried 50 Shades of Grey, but after 50 pages of 50 Shades, I thought the book might turn my brain into oatmeal, so I tossed it in the trash. It's such poorly written drivel that I couldn't get far enough into it to determine if I might be willing to try to understand and be tolerant of BDSM.

Then I read The Businessman's Tie. Wow. Now I find the subject of BDSM intriguing, stimulating, and erotically charged. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks? Syllogism: Deena Ward is to EL James as Tolstoy is to Edward Bulwer-Lytton. Follow my lead and toss YOUR copy of FSOG in the trash before it makes you illiterate, and read The Businessman's Tie. It's well written, has fine character development, and is quite educational on a subject that we are all secretly curious about, though we mostly don't want to admit it, even to ourselves.

The Businessman's Tie is the first of a quartet of novels that comprise The Power To Please. I believe that Continuing Education is a cornerstone of modern society. Consequently, I plan to read the remaining 3 novels in the series.

Hunh. I can't see where the high star ratings are coming from, and I'm very disappointed in the ending.

Yes, it's a hot erotic story. Unfortunately the story is too big for the main character, Nonnie, who recently divorced has NEVER had any experience in BDSM, nor even fantasies about it the way the book reads. I found that quite unbelievable as she ends up in not one, but two scenes with different Doms with completely different styles. No. This story didn't do it for me... so many inconsistencies with what a real life woman would be like. Really? You meet up with some young gal at a bar where you met The Businessman, and leave this bar with her to go to a BDSM club? Just like that? NO!

3 stars because the eroticism of the scenes was really rather delicious, but that's all I'm rating it for.

Choose wisely grasshopper.

This was a bit painful to read. I truly only finished this book because I don't like to leave a book unfinished. Speaking of unfinished... that is exactly what this book is. The female lead makes decisions that no human being would make (I guess that's why it's fiction) and it was irritating to say the least. The way the book ends is also frustrating. I don't think you can even call this an ending, but it's clearly designed so that you have no choice but to purchase the next book... which is fine, but it's so hard to connect with the characters that you don't care what happens next. Needless to say I didn't get the next book. I'm surprised I finished this book. I got this book as a free kindle book... you get what you pay for.

I almost put this down after the intial BDSM encounter, which occurred before the heroine had even said one word to the businessman of the title. No negotiation there, which is bad BDSM. I did keep reading, though, and later there were some nods to the safe, sane, consensual ethic, so it wasn't entirely bad BDSM. I found the heroine's reasoning about the decision she makes at the end of the book lacking. I'm not sure I'm interested enough in how that turns out to buy the other books in this series.

I love the fact that she just simply said, I'm a grown woman and I can hang out in the dark hallways of a club with someone if I want. Was it reckless? Hell yes it was, but after the life Nonnie's lived for the last 8 years I can't blame her throwing caution to the wind and just going for it! Then you throw in two men who vie for her attention...it just got good!

I'm just glad I already have the second book in the series so I can simply keep reading this series and not have to wait!

The Businessman's Tie was an amazingly sexy book. It tells the story of Nonnie and her introduction to the world of bdsm. The storyline was interesting and the sex scenes were HOT. I liked the fact that this story wasn't just some sex scenes thrown together...it had a plot, drew you into the story, and had good character development.
If you enjoy bdsm or are interested in learning more about the bdsm lifestyle, then this story is for you.

I would like to give this book a higher rating because I enjoyed it very much. I didn't like that it was so short and now I have to buy the next 3 books in order to get the whole story. I really hate when authors do that.

It had a pretty interesting story. .. although the love triangle is a bit passe and the characters didn't seem to have much intensity at times... it kind of deflated their interactions. .. meh... but maybe it's just me with my penchant for tortured or fucked kn the head uber alpha males... lol
