My grandfather used to say young love is like a shooting star zooming across the sky. It burns bright for a moment but fades into nothing in the blink of an eye. A long time ago, I met a boy who meant the world to me. But fate had other plans. I had to make a tough decision and break his heart. Moving far away from him was the only way I could save us both.
He became the hotshot hockey player he was destined to be, and I have the career of my dreams, but I’m far from whole.
When tragedy strikes again, I have to return home and face the boy I destroyed all those years ago. He’s a man now, and even more dangerous to my defenses. Unfortunately, I need him. He’s the captain of the Boston Zodiacs, the glue keeping a team in shambles from falling apart completely, and I’m the new owner.
Working together brings back memories I’ve buried all these years. It reminds me I never stopped loving him. But I’m his boss now and can’t cross that line. Giving in to our feelings might lead to more than just shattered hearts; it might be the end of my family’s legacy.
Anything that Michelle writes…am I gonna read? Yup. Am I going to read in less than 24 hours? Also YUP! I absolutely devoured this one and always a sucker for a goalie.
This story follows Leo and Ellie. After a sudden passing, Ellie inherits the Zodiac hockey team, which just so happens to be the team her ex is on, who she has not had in contact with in 10 years. When life finally brings them together again it’s quickly apparent that everything they had is still there but something is not as it seems…
I absolutely loved that Michelle added the bit of suspense into this one. It seriously kept me guessing the whole time. Leo and Ellie were seriously such the perfect match. As soon as they saw each other again, the chemistry and the fire was still there, even after 10 years. The spice was delicious, the relationship progression was so swoony!! I am obsessed with Leo. He was just as obsessed with Ellie as he was 10 years prior. He never stopped loving her.
Michelle did a such great job of building the angst with the dual timeline, giving flashbacks to the 10 years prior when Ellie and Leo fell in love, and the tragedy that separated them. I don’t care what anyone says…I love dual timelines.
This was such a great start to the series and I cannot wait to read more hockey from Michelle. Thank you to Michelle and team for the eARC,

After tragedy strikes Leo's family he is given an amazing opportunity that he can't pass up for him and his brother. They head off to the Cillian O'Brien Hockey Academy where Leo meets Ellie. They don't meet on the best of terms and get off to a rocky start but when Ellie can help Leo to keep his scholarship, they end up spending more time together and falling for each other. First love. Until tragedy hits again and Ellie runs off to London. Ten years later Ellie is back in Boston and neither Ellie or Leo can deny that their feelings for each other never faded but when Ellie is the new owner of the hockey team that Leo plays for things are a tad complicated.
I enjoyed this one. I liked the characters and their story was fun. I liked that we got flash backs to see how their story developed when they were younger. I liked watching their young love develop. However, I felt like there was too much past and not enough present. We didn't really get to see a whole lot of present day relationship development. I would have liked to seen a bit more angst and drama about them reconnecting in the present as she was the new owner of the team. It just wasn't there. But the was also a fun intriguing mystery surrounding her taking over as owner and I was all about that. I truly enjoyed this one.

Chasing Leo is a super angsty, gut wrenching beautiful story! Leo and Ellie first meet when they are younger and though it’s not a good interaction once time and understanding happens a fast and strong bond is formed between the two but with her being the grand daughter of the man whose giving him a chance they have to keep their relationship in the dark!
When a life altering event takes place Ellie flees everything she’s ever know and doesn’t see Leo for 10’yrs. When life finally brings them together again it’s quickly apparent that everything they had is still there but the stakes are higher than ever!
Leo is more than a jock and is one sweet talking, charming man! He loves with his whole heart and his heart only wants Ellie. He is such a teddy bear but turns feral when it comes to Ellie and anyone trying to take her away from him again. He has no issue showing her just what she means to him. Ellie is such a bad*** heroine! I loved her tenacity and the fact that she spoke her mind and didn’t let anyone stop her!
Ellie and Leo were the perfect match and I loved every intense moment between them! I became quickly attached to these two and hope to see them again! This is a heck of a way to start a new hockey romance and one you won’t want to miss!!!
Okay first off, this is a 2nd chance, soulmates, always been you, MF story with a long time coming HEA, mystery/suspense and 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ spice level.
Now the good stuff. Leo and Ellie both have been dealt a heavy hand by life but heal together and find love in each other until tragedy strikes again and separates them, it was heartbreaking to watch these soul mates be pulled apart and I may have shed some (a lot) of tears but absolutely loved seeing them find their way back to each other. The spice was delishhhhh, the relationship progression was swoony, the side characters I wish I could add to my friend circle, hockey because it makes everything better, add in a healthy dash of who done it and it’s another Michelle Hercules win for me ! ♥️
I could not put this down. Michelle had me all tangled up in this story of loss that brought our two MCs, Leo and Ellie together. It was young love at its best, but unfortunately, a tragedy tore them apart for 10 years. Another loss brings Ellie back home and face to face with the boy whom she loved, only now he’s all man and the goalie for the Boston Zodiacs, the hockey team owned by her grandfather.
GAAAH! I just ate up all the angst as Ellie and Leo navigated around being in close proximity and attempting unsuccessfully to hide their secret pining from each other. Michelle did a great job of building the angst through the dual timeline, giving flashbacks to the 10 years prior when Ellie and Leo fell in love, and the tragedy that separated them.
The bit of suspense through a bit more drama into the mix, and even though I had a good idea of who the culprit was, I was on the edge of my seat as the puzzle pieces fell into place. When sh*t hit the fan, I was just as shocked as Ellie to discover that things went way back then just the incidents in the present.
Ellie and Leo were fantastic. I loved their forbidden romance and how well they fit together. Their shared tragedy had me tearing up along with them. I enjoyed seeing them find their footing, putting away the hurts, and finally getting their HEA.
Did I devour this in less than 12 hours? Why yes I did.
Michelle gives us a story full of tragedy that brought these two together when they were younger but unfortunately they were torn apart.
“ I become more certain that I’m in love with Ellie O’Brien and always will be. “
10 years from the last time they saw each other, Ellie returns for her grandfathers funeral. She is given quite the shock when she realizes that the organization was left for her to take over and she needs to face her ex, Leo.
“ He’s always been the sun to me, drawing me in with his allure. “
I loved that this book showed us their past of how they met, how they fall in love and what ended their secret relationship and had Ellie running away and leaving overseas.
As Ellie is getting her new footing, she notices that some of the files she intercepted from leaving their building has some suspicious findings. As Ellie gets closer to uncovering the truth, she finds herself in danger.
“ I was loving you from afar.”
Leo has never forgotten Ellie and when certain things are explained, they can no longer deny how they have always felt. I enjoyed watching them find each other and getting a well deserved HEA after so much heart ache.
Ok, I definitely don’t keep it a secret that I am a Michelle Hercules STAN, and it’s for a good darn reason. Just when you think you have the types of characters she writes down, she switches it up on you. Case in point, LEO.
Leo experiences so much tragedy at a young age with the loss of his parents and having to take on the responsibility of caring for his special needs brother, but when he’s given an opportunity to play hockey at a high level, he makes it work. That’s when he meets Ellie, who had experienced no shortage of tragedy and loss in her own life. They don’t exactly start off on the right foot (likeeee, he almost hits her with his car), but they slowly find themselves leaning on one another and falling in love. Until life happens and they’re pulled apart.
Years later, they’re reunited when Ellie becomes Leo’s boss. He plays in the pros now, which means they should be keeping things professional. But how long can that last before their past flame gets rekindled?
Leooooo…you adorable, smooshy, lovable, filthy little golden retriever! I couldn’t get enough. He’s definitely tied with Noah for my fave Michelle guy (because I obviously have a type.)
I have read this twice already and I feel like it’s probably going to be my new comfort book.
I seriously do not think Michelle Hercules can write a bad book. She wrote this sweet second chance romance in a way that had you falling in love with the characters multiple times throughout. The way she builds a world and connects people, giving you cameos and peeking your interest in future possible books, is addicting!
Ellie and Leo dated in high school before tragedy broke them apart. For ten years, they pine for one another from afar. But when Ellie’s grandfather and owner of the Zodiacs hockey team dies, they are forced to be around each other again. They rediscover each other while solving the mystery around the arena.
Ellie is a strong leader, capable in many ways, but so sweet on Leo that she can’t see straight. I love how she compares everyone to him. She is so intensely attracted to him and not shy about it. Leo is probably one of the most loyal and compassionate guys I’ve read about in a while. And can you say dominate? 😜.
This book is the perfect blend of emotions, spicy scenes, and intrigue. I couldn’t get enough and have been recommending it everywhere! Go read it!
Every time Michelle Hercules has a new book I’m guaranteed to read and enjoy it throughly. This was awesome. It’s a second chance romance. Ellie and Leo had a young secret romance 10 years ago. Now her grandfather has died and she inherits the Zodiacs where Leo is the goalie. They realize they have always loved one another. This has steamy romance, mystery and suspense with a wonderful HEA. Looking forward to more in this series.
I don't know how I feel about this book. When I was on chapter 27, I wanted to DNF it because the jumps between present and the past feel very sudden and the author did not let us bond properly to Ellie and Leo in the current timeline before going to the past. So when the flashbacks come in I don't really care about them. Most of their relationship development happened in the past no that wouldn't be a problem if the author instead of starting in the present had the whole first ten to fifteen chapters in the past and let us see them falling in love and let us experience the reason for their breakup so we could connect it. Because when the reason for that break happened, I wasn't even connected to Jack or anything. I think the author should draw that part out and the building of the relationship and her friendship with Jack so we would be able to connect more with the characters. And then the author could have showed current time from when she was working or even show what she did in the 10 years away from him and what he did in that time as well. Then start to show her life in the company and the whole experience with her grandfather's death and them meeting again for the face time in 10 years and the emotions they're going through.. And then we could have gotten to see them rebonding to each other and seeing how each other may have changed from when they were younger. All in all I think this book needed to be more fleshed out.
i wasn’t expecting the book to be that short and like plain. idk i was expecting more but it just felt very rushed and then the whole reason they broke up got resolved so fast im like ?? i get it but at the same time that was a little too fast for my taste and also i just hate flashback chapters back and forth like that but that’s just a me thing bc i get thrown off w what’s present and what’s flashback but anyways it’s not a bad book i think it’s just a little boring and random. like why tf is the uncle a drug trafficker and then the whole twist about how there’s an undercover cop like this is a hockey book why tf are you adding all these random ass elements also why tf did the author kill of the younger brother like damn both of the main characters’ parents are dead the main girls grandpa is dead like damn the author loves to kill off the family in this hockey novel like hello there’s only like one scene of a game i’m just like thrown off bc what i read wasn’t what i expected. i was thinking a little more pinning slowburn tension and all that but no that was fast asf and i’m just like eh w the main couple like they have their past which makes me excuse the instant loveyness and also the brother dying the grief made him say stuff he doesn’t mean he’s grieving and miscommunication blah blah but i’m team main girl on that one. idk the book ended up w her getting another house invasion like give the girl a break but the main guy just comes in time to get the guy like it’s just so random i can’t w this book where’s the hockey?? but yeah imma give it like a 5/10 it’s not bad again but it doesn’t feel real and i’ve read worse.

This was such a feel good second chance romance laced with some great action moments. These two loved each other as teenagers when tragedy struck and drove them apart. Now 10 years later they are pushed back together. I loved that they had an instant spark and chemistry again and there wasn’t any enemies to lovers kind of thing going on. They just missed each other and that love never truly left them.
Ellie is a great FMC and a total corporate baddie. I wish I had more of her cause I feel like I just got a small peak into how cool she is. Leo is a such a lovable golden boy. I can’t quite nail down what archetype he fits but probably a golden retriever is most fitting. He is playful and flirty and can’t keep a secret. He was so swoony and supportive of Ellie and was protective too. It’s a great combo.
I’m intrigued by the rest of the characters we meet along the way like Mia and Viktor. I’m hoping these two are next but also would love Andrew and Liam to get their HEA too. Deacon made a very brief appearance I hope we learn more about him in future books!
I am absolutely in love with Leo and Ellie and I’m so excited that this book is out and about in the world now so everyone can love them!
Tropes: - second chance romance - forced proximity - secret relationship - found family - spicy cinnamon roll MMC - she’s his boss
I loved this story! Equal parts plot and romance with questions to answer and emotions to work through. Chasing Leo is exciting, easy to read, and will have you wishing for the next book asap!
Leo is equal parts sweet and steamy. He truly respected Ellie and was willing to fight for her. Ellie is smart and strong af. She doesn’t let others push her around and when Leo is back in her life, she tries not to hide her heart.

I loveeee when a book gives you two characters that have known each other for a very long time and something happens, ripping them apart only to fast forward and bring them back together years later!!! This is exactly Leo & Ellie!!!

This book had me on the edge of my seat!!! The suspense wrecked me. I cried. I laughed. I had no idea how this would turnout and there were shocking parts I will never be over. But Leo makes everything better. He is soooo swoony. Dealt with such a bad hand in life but he doesn’t let it push him down!
Michelle Hercules has easily become a favorite author of mine. She packs all the feels and emotions in her stories. Throwing you twists but always giving you that happy ending. This book is soooo amazing!
I had higher hopes from the blurb. It had all my favorite tropes except one (boss-employee). The second chance romance ✅ Childhood sweethearts ✅ Years of no contact ✅ MC not being a manwhore ✅ Strong independent FMC✅ This book had so much potential yet the whole thing felt rushed. Not enough time was given to connect with each character. Their tragedies were written like newspaper articles. You sort of forget what each of them had gone through because one tragic event melted into another without resolving or closure. I don't think it hit the right spot. Maybe the writer was in a rush and filled the plot with words. Having said that, I finished it in less than a day because there wasn't any time to pause and digest.
First thing I observed is that even though Ellie is living practically with a bunch of hot boys that she has easy access to, the author did not take advantage and make her a hookup kind of girl which is the norm in young adult romance nowadays. Thank God for little wins. Much appreciated Michelle Hercules.
Delving into the rest of the book though, it is fast paced which I kind of like as it avoids giving endless descriptive details of meaningless moments.
Their first time together is a bit cheesy. And some scenes are down right corny. There is mystery but was verrryyyy predictable from the beginning.
It was a short read. Was neither good nor bad to be honest. It was a meh 😕
If you’re looking for an emotional read, this is for you.
This book has heartache, humor, tragedy, suspense, drama and above all else love injected into it.
Leo, the MMC, meets Ellie, the FMC, while they are seniors in high school. Leo gets accepted to a prestigious hockey program where he relocates to attend with lots of baggage (pun intended) in tow.
This book absolutely shredded me before piecing me back together.
I enjoyed all the side characters we were introduced to and I look forward to more books from the Boston Zodiacs universe.
Star Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 Star rating bumped up to benefit author.
This story had a sense of mystery that kept you on your feet. Normally I’m not a fan of random flashbacks but the way Michelle integrated them into the storyline was so seamless I had no issue jumping back and forth. So many of the characters gave me vibes from Heart Stopper in the Rebels of Rushmore series. I love it.
While I did had my reservations with some aspects of the book overall it was a decent read.
This story had so much potential, but it seemed like it was so rushed and the author tried to cram so many things into 230ish pages. If the book was longer and things played out more naturally it would have been better. However that doesn't change the fact that it felt like it was written by a teenager. The writing was pretty juvenile and could have benefited with more editing. I'm not upset I read it but I'm definitely not going to be recommending it to anyone either.
First love, second chances, past trauma, mystery, suspense and a little hockey mixed in for good measure. Ellie and Leo's story is a super quick read, it's a lot sweet, a little spicy and pulled at my emotions. Honestly, I only wish we got more of them. Look forward to more of the Zodiacs!
I actually really enjoyed this book, more so the past povs. I thought this book was well written from past to present. The romantic suspense even though it’s obvious who the bad guy was lol but I was we got more of Jack, my baby
2.5 ⭐️ This was an okay read. While this book had potential, it felt rushed and lacked depth in character development. The pacing seemed hurried, and the plot felt overstuffed with events. Despite these flaws, I finished the book quickly due to its fast-paced nature.
Oh my heart. I knew it would be a good story, but was not expecting the emotions. Michelle definitely pulled at this cold heart. Leo and Ellie had a lot to overcome and this story gave me all the good feels I needed. There was emotion, healing, laughter, love, and best friends who make the main characters even better. Can't wait to see if there is more in the Boston Zodiacs world.
it's okay. is it cute? yes is it easy to read? yes did I have a good time reading it? yes was I disappointed by the ending? yes will i re-read it? nope will i recommend it to someone else? not quite.
