"No one will ever get me to be a star again" – sounds like words from someone who has been bamboozled a lot, doesn't it? The book mentions a big win Chanel had over her partners for Chanel No. 5. I want to know about the times when she wasn't victorious. Maybe “The Legend and the Life” will have the answers.
Super bouquin sur la vie de mademoiselle Chanel. J'ai surtout apprécié les passages où c'est elle qui parle directement et non l'auteur. Fascinant exemple de réussite quand on part de rien.
-Ms. Chanel began as a young orphan and the book goes through her growth as a fashion designer. Her independence for woman at that time was due to her own self as a woman. The book shows how her passion for designing clothes was overpowering to what ever else she had to do. Her personal life was just as fascinating as her talent.
A portrait of Chanel by a man who knew her well in her later life. The author's voice and personality are sometimes intrusive, but I did enjoy the way he wrote of his experience of her and the stories she told about her life. He had hours of recordings of conversations with her, so the book is full of this, her own stories about herself, which the author sometimes contradicts with facts.
She lead an interesting life but this was presented in the best way. The author mentions that Coco told a lot of tales about her childhood that weren't true and said that said a lot about her. But the author never makes clear what that is supposed to be or what her true childhood was like.
Interesanti ieskatīties Koko dzīvē no viņas pašas piedāvātās skata prizmas. Daudz paliek neatklāts, bet šajā gadījumā tieši nepateiktais par šo personu pasaka visvairāk.
