x) Šeikspyras buvo ne tik sėkmingas autorius, bet taip ir sėkmingas verslininkas. Manoma, jog buvo ir advokatas, tačiau trūksta tą patvirtinančių dok.
x) Kilo iš gausios šeimos - 3 broliai ir 4 seserys.
x) Pirmoji santuoka ne tiek iš meilės, kiek “dėl reikalo”. Su 8 metais vyresne žmona

Biografia Szekspira była dla mnie bardzo fascynująca. Jego twórczość miała wielki wpływ na rozwój języka angielskiego, ale nie tylko. Sztuki Szekspira wybiegają mocno ponad ramy kultury angielskiej, są wielkim wkładem w dziedzictwo kultury światowej.
Szekspir znalazł się w odpowiednim miejscu w odpowiednim czasie. W momencie kiedy zaczął tworzyć teatr mocno rozwijał się na wyspach brytyjskich. Był płodnym pisarzem gdyż był wielki popyt na sztuki teatralne. Jako członek grupy teatralnej wraz z z kilkoma aktorami był właścicielem kompanii teatralnej która wystawiała jego sztuki.
Istnieje wiele niewiadomych odnośnie biografii Szekspira i nie wszystko jest do końca jasne jeśli chodzi o jego życie i twórczość. Szekspir w przypadku niektórych sztuk posądzany jest o plagiat. Mogło tez być tak iż było kilku współautorów a tylko jemu przypisujemy dziś autorstwo. Zagadką jest też to skąd Szekspir czerpał inspiracje dla sztuk których akcja umiejscowiona jest poza wyspami brytyjskimi. Jest pewna luka w jego biografii, być może w tym czasie właśnie odbywał podróże po Europie.
Zagadką są Sonety które przyczyniają się do spekulacji odnośnie orientacji seksualnej Szekspira.
O życiu prywatnym Szekspira nie wiemy zbyt wiele. Zachował się jego testament który rodzi spekulacje na temat jego relacji z żoną. W testamencie przepisał jej tylko swoje stare łóżko, co wydaje się być mocno zagadkowe. Posiadamy również wiedzę na temat jego majątku, wiemy że posiadał wiele nieruchomości i jak na realia czasów w których żył był osobą dość zamożną. Tym bardziej wydaje się to być zagadkowe że żonie przepisał stary mebel.
Cieszę się że poznałem bliżej biografie Szekspira.

Pleasant biography of the Bard, managing to hit the high points of his life and lay out most of the mysteries and controversies surrounding him. A very pleasant read, and provides a nice primer of a great historical figure, which is the point of the series.

The story of William Shakespeare is very intriguing and its so crazy to me how famous and how relatable his plays remain.
Listened at 3x speed and was not paying full attention due to to pain (just had an operation).

A great read.
Thoroughly enjoyed this read from beginning to end. I'd recommend this book to anyone with the slightest interest in the bard.

A well designed summary of Shakespeare's life and those who were close to him. A great introduction to the Bard and the theories of his life and works.
