This is a fascinating accumulation of short stories that are very interesting to read. Each story provides examples of simple acts that have deeper meaning in life. Every story is unique and independent, which allows the reader to draw value from the various examples of acts. This book is very quick to read and is perfect for the waiting room in a doctor’s office or when traveling. I personally read my copy at the doctor’s office and it helped me pass time! The stories are long enough that the reader can easily maintain his or her place without getting lost. I must thank both the author and goodreads for sending this book to me in a giveaway. It was much appreciated!

I liked these a lot. They were all deeply sad but in a lingering, melancholy way that really stays with you. I felt like I was really getting a window into someone's life. Beautiful.

Highly recommend

The short stories in the book are wonderfully written and bring the characters and their stories to life. Throughout the book, Patrick explores the realities of love, life and death in a forceful yet casual tone. I highly recommend this book as it is a great read and provides insight into the human experience.

I haven’t read any short stories since high school but think I need to read more now. I was surprised by how quickly I was pulled into each story and there are several I wish I knew more of the characters.

Swift-moving, like eddies in ferocious lake, these stories concentrate your focus. There's a dry, black humour there somewhere where the ludicrous laughs at itself. Highly recommended.
