This story was highly creative, full of new worlds and species. Careful attention was paid to creating lushly detailed cultures and people, sometimes to the point of forgetting what was happening in the storyline. My tastes, as a reader and a writer, are usually a little simpler. But if you love attention to detail and like to know everything about the universe the author has created, then this story is definitely for you.

I think it's really good that the book has gone out for editing because it could use some. The mistakes are generally small typos and word confusion, but it does get distracting here and there. Some of the content could be cut back as well or used more sparingly as I sometimes found myself waiting for something to happen. All in all, Nomads of the Gods is not a bad book though and I look forward to reading more of Gary Mark Lee's books.

It's a real shame that the rating system doesn't allow for a different number of stars for content versus syntax. I liked the underlying story and the characterization and I persevered until the end of a very long book but, and this is a huge but, the language was painful.

I am sure the text went through a spell checker but the transposition of common misused words like to/too, their/there/they're and even sense/scents were truly painful to read. Perhaps the author used a speech recognition tool to actually render the book but the lack of editing and obvious corrections breaks down the pleasure of the reading experience big time.
