This book is....

This book is a little to ridiculous for me to continue the series. While the idea is a good one the story is lacking. Way too much going on. What should have been spread out over a few months timeline takes place in only a few short weeks.
There is enough strife to cover 3 books worth of excitement if the author would invest more time into creating her world and characters. Instead she glosses over the details that would make you want to continue this series.

UNEDITED ARC IN EXCHANGE FOR MY HONEST REVIEW!!!!!!

I really enjoyed this book and couldn't put it down. I also didn't appreciate it when I was reading it and my eyes wouldn't stay open allowing me to finish the book.

Ella is 18 years old and the daughter of a preacher living in a small town. She has had a very tough life. A victim of both physical and emotional abuse at the hands of her parents. Devon, her very gay and hot looking best friend, and Jessa, her brash hold nothing back speak her mind best friend, are the only friends she has and like family to her. They would do anything for each other. Ella appears to be a docile, head down, meek girl but everything changes when Jaxx, or Thor as she thinks of him, kicks in the church door one Sunday during service.

Jaxx has been looking for his soul mate for almost two centuries. He kicks in the church door looking for something. Then he sees her and stops he raises an eyebrow gives a smirk and her reaction is to flip him off and turn her back on him. He leaves the church with a laugh. Jaxx has found her his one true soul mate. The next day they meet at school. Within a day of his meeting Ella she finds out she's adopted, gets kicked out of her house, learns that she's a "True Witch", and that Jaxx is her soul mate.

Ella has many questions about what she is. Jaxx brings her back to his place to meet his Uncle Seb and a historian. Seb is also a vampire. Seb has a surprise waiting at the house for both Ella and Jaxx when they arrive. Gavin is Ella's twin brother and she just learned of him that night so you can imagine the surprise on her and Jaxx's face when he's at the house. Ella has much to learn about her powers. Besides learning exactly what her gifts are she has to learn how to control them. Hopefully this is something Jaxx, Gavin, and Seb can help her with cause they don't know it yet but there's a war coming and she needs to be ready.

This is a great summer read. There's action, some danger, some VERY HOT sex scenes, and some real good laughs. Through Ella and her depth of feelings for the members of her family you are able to form a bond with the other characters and not just Ella and Jaxx. This is the first book in a series and I would HIGHLY recommend you going out and buying this book. You really won't be disappointed. I'm anxiously awaiting the next book in the series.

I wanted to share with you a couple of my favorite lines in the book. The reason for picking these two lines is because my reaction to them each had my husband going ok what just happened.

"Yes actually. Jessa told me that it was like shoving a cold hot dog through a key hole."

"You wouldn't bother knocking either if someone just tapped your ass like a juice box!"

Ok. Let me first start off by saying that I am not that fond of witches whether it be on tv or in books they have just never been my cup of tea. However Tasha's book Fated Truth had me hooked from the very beginning! I honestly did not want to put the book down and when i finally did I continued thinking about Ella and Jax instead of concentrating on my school work! Yes it was that good! I loved everything about this book. I instantly fell in love with Ella and her best friend Jessa from the get go. Then comes Jax! (drool). Uggh. I LOVE Jax. I love how Ella refers to him as the Nordic God! It describes him perfectly. He is my favorite character by far! Although it is hard for me to choose a favorite character with such good ones as Tasha wrote. I loved them all! They each have a very different personality that sets them apart from one another. Sometimes I felt like they were real and found myself feeling like I was there in the story with them. Tasha did an excellent job writing Fated Truth. I mean it feels like a true story when you read it, like it is actually happening and you are part of it. I experienced the emotions that Ella was experiencing as if I were her. I loved it! I also liked how we learn a little more information at a time as you get further into the story rather than just dumping all the information at the beginning or end. It kept me wanting to read more and more so I could find out what happened or why or how. All in all this book was definitely 5 stars! I can't wait to read the next one in the series to see where the story will go. Thank you Tasha for writing such an excellent read! I will definitely recommend this book to everyone! <3

Holy Hecate! Fair Warning: Read Fated Truth with a bucket of ice on hand as Tasha Gwartney is the mistress of writing steamy sex scenes!! Yet, despite the distracting amount of passion between Ella and Jaxx Fated Truth is also a story about a young woman negotiating the truth of her origins, when she has grown up believing she was evil.
Although there are many books in this genre currently being written I feel that Tasha Gwartney has been able to be original in her storytelling and the paranormal elements she chooses to use.
I particularly enjoyed the conversational style of the first-person narrative, told from Ella's viewpoint, although I admit some of the words I did not understand! Ella is a strong independent character, and I did enjoy her wit and humour, but also her emotional side.
Personally, I thought the subtext of Fated Truth was the importance of family and friends; there are two 'mating links' formed during the story; Ella finds 2 members of her true family; she manages to forge a new family unit and the climax of the book (*SOB*) causes her to plan her future.
Fated Truth is a well-written debut by a promising author and I am very excited for its sequel. Definitely one to recommend

*I was given this book in exchange for an honest review*

So Ella is an 18 yr old senior in school who cracks jokes about being adopted to find out she is. Little does she know there is a whole new world out there that is about to jump up and bite her in her ass including her destined Jaxx the 'Nordic God' (and that is yummy :) ). With the help of her newly found destined soulmate and others of her kind she finds out where she truly comes from, how to adjust to this new life, and the evil she is about to face and what is expected from her.

This book was schmexy hawt! I enjoyed all the characters and felt that Ella was a strong female character but still has a sensitive side attached to her short fuse. Jaxx hmmmmmm I will take him on any day. Her loud outspoken friend Jessa is amazing and was always willing to take on anything for her friend. Friends like that are hard to come by. I can't wait to see where this series is going to take us and how she plans to fight the impending doom awaiting all of them. Impatiently awaiting Jessa's story and all the things that happen to her especially with Seb. He is definately a character with a lot of history that I think we all want to know about.

Thanks for the awesome read!

This book had me hooked from the very first page. Ella a small town girl the daughter of a preacher and his wife. She is a docile little mouse of a thing dying under her parents rules and hatered for her . Until the day Jaxx or as Ella called him Thor. Her life changed for the better. In one day she found out she was a true witch with powers and a soul mate in Jaxx. Things grow from there the evil Sabrina is out to destroy her and her friends Devon and Jessa. She will help them out as much as she can. There is war approaching and she must harness her powers and lead the forces against them
This book is a good summer read. the cast of characters is well rounded and funny. Jessa the know it all best friend and Devon her lovable gay best buddy to name a few. Jaxx is like oozing sex appeal and Ella does an awesome transformation from being a doormat to a stunning strong woman. They grow and love and get ready to fight the war to end all war. There are bad guys and you really cant trust anyone. I can't wait to see how book two comes along. Hoping that we find out more about everyone /
I recommend this book to anyone who wants a cool summer read to read at the beach or the cabin. Check it out you won't be disappointed . I had it read in one day .

The story over all was awesome. I did like how everything panned out from the beginning to the end. Ella... awesome character and she is one bad mama jamma ...Sabrina the Teenage witch got's nothing on her. Although I was a little taken back by the roughness of their love making in the story...I dunno maybe it's because I'm more of the romantic type... But talk about defending your friends and the ones you love....I loved it.. Ella a very tough chick. I enjoyed watching her character grow from a silent person into a bad @$$... I kick @$$ and take names later kind of girl. And Jaxx... a lovely man. I can't wait for the sequel... I'm just mad Jess didn't get to Sabrina...I was hoping for nice story about that but... I await for the sequel...(SPOILER ALERT) I'm just mad they lost on of their best friends that didn't do anything...I mean Devon...Sheesh...take the stupid mom in the story or something... Or at least Make devon into werewolf...He didn't have to die...

I was given this book in exchange for a honest review! First off I did enjoy the book alot! It's about a girl named Ella who has always felt different! She was raised in a preacher household. She has a best friend Jessa and Devon who have been her rocks since grade school and she also has her uncle! Their is this bully at school Sabrina who has the hots for the new guy but when he takes a likin to Ella all hell brakes loose!! Jaxxs is the new kid Ella can't help but b drawn to him!! Ella finds out what she is made of! And tries to figure out who and what she is! The story was a good story my only problem was too many things happened in the short span it was kinda like playing catch-up. And it also seems like its rushed. Everything thing has to happen all at once. But I did like where it was going! I will read book 2!

If an author can not make the reader believe in the world they are creating, along with the characters in it, no matter how far fetched the plot, then they have failed.
Tasha did not.
From the moment Jaxx makes his dramatic entrance, everything changes for Ella, including her perception of herself and her place in her own family. They are true mates, her powers and the danger escalating, once they become lovers. Many parallels can be drawn, between this and works of a similar genre and nature. But. There are a lot of unexpected, clever twists, which make this story unique, including Ella's true heritage.
This story is fast paced, with plenty of action and humour, both in and out of the bedroom, leaving you wanting more and wondering what will happen next.
Ella is, after all, exceptional.

This definitely had me sucked in. I love the strong emotions and power. Ella and Jaxx are very likable characters. I like Gavin too, and Jessa is so "cray cray." I hope to meet other paranormal creatures in the next book, and see what trials Ella and Jaxx face besides the one we were left with at the end of the book.my only complaint is that i think the "deeply in love" part of Jaxx and Ella is too fast. Its just not believable. Destined or not, no one is madly in love that fast. Besides, Ella was completely norm acting up until getting with Jaxx. Overall though, I didn't want to put the book down, and when I did I was still thinking of it. I could see this as a movie or tv series witha few tweeks. I highly recommend!

Wow! ...

Oh my goddess, oh my goddess, I was totally sucked into Tasha's world. I loved her imagination and the way this world was so real, adjacent to the world we are in now. The sadness and pain Ella endured growing up has kept her in good stead for the world she is about to take on with her destined. The passion between Ella and Jaxx was intense from the beginning. The rules, the way things go in this book seemed so believable to me, it is written wonderfully and I cannot wait to continue this magical journey with Ella, Jaxx and their new family. This book was fun, exciting, sad and sexy. Worthy of 5 Magical stars.

One minute the heroine is an 18 year old virgin being bullied at school and the next minute full on sex scenes?
Managing to save enough money to buy a second hand harley and get lessons and nobody knows yet this is supposed to be a small town so everybody knows everything. A pastor's wife who hates her 'demon" daughter but gives her an unlimited credit card in case of emergency????

Just a few jarring notes especially the sex scenes for me. I finished the novel but will not be seeking the next ones in the series. sorry.

This is one of the most Ahh-mazing books I have ever read. Absolutely cannot wait to read the second book of the series. I love the main characters Ella & Jaxx, if you could meet Jaxx in person every girl would be trying to take his clothes off.
This is one of those books that you just cannot put down, then when its over you are missing the characters and wondering what will happen next.

this book has a lot of potential. the story itself wasn't too bad but the writing was rushed and choppy and there was too many curse words in it even if the main character is a teenager. I may start the next book in the series but if it's written the same way I won't finish it

Big adventure

I only gave this 3 stars because I feel this book has great potential. I felt a contrast between the stoic, old English and the trendy teen talk of this era. Somehome, it never flowed for me. Also, when Jaxx first found Ella in the church, how did he find her there? What drew him to go into the church and just turn around if he had been watching her for sometime before starting school to get to know her.

I also felt the author spoon fed the entire story. She didn't create an environment for the reader to draw their own conclusions. Everything was just written out.

Lastly, their were so many trials and quick resolves. I kind of felt like the author could have removed some of the trials and made more effort drawing the reader into each character.

As I said, great story line. This book has great potential. Just felt like a rough draft. Like she's on the brink of becoming a literary artist, bust needs to dig deeper. There needs to be more connection of emotion to the character and situation. Hope the next book digs deeper. Lots of potential here!

I'm in 2 minds about this book. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great. Some parts felt a bit repetitive and everything happened all at once. One day her life suddenly changed and a week or so later she's the daughter of a goddess, super powerful, has a twin brother (with a different mother) and has the most gorgeous man destined to be with only her (and manages to stay a virgin for over 200+ years, seriously?) They don't even have a kissing scene leaving you smiling. Ugh. Frustrating! But just because I can't start something without finishing it, I'll be reading the next book. Not Jessa's though, she just annoying.

I am only giving this book a two. It has a decent plot and characters if it was fleshed out and given more depth. What ruins it is spelling errors, and a ridiculous amount of cursing. I almost stopped reading a few pages into it. Toward the end it started improving and getting more interesting due to less use of foul language.

Good storyline, mediocre writing

I found I liked the storyline - interweaving the different fae. However, the writing was rushed and it was very young... like it was written by a young teen.

Fated finished finally
She just gained so many powers so many gifts it become a bore. Her friend shouldn't have died. She was a strong personality before the boy. After the boy she was a weak weeping mess of a girl that suddenly couldn't function anymore without him.. EGag.

blah

Good plot but oh you’ve got magic oh you’re extra powerful oh your mother is a goddess oh she’s given you extra blessings

And then all the outdated terms used. These are terms some 1970’s hippie would use trying to be cool but it’s not
