As a non sci-fi reader I was skeptical of Hosting at first, but quickly found myself quite comfortable with a sci-fi novel set in a world I myself inhabit. By mixing sci-fi elements with things we are all familiar with, Dave has created a very easy to digest sci-fi novel that anyone can enjoy. I was drawn into the story quickly and soon found myself reading larger and larger chunks at a time. By the end of the book I was eager to continue the adventure and am now anxiously awaiting the next novel so I can do just that. I would strongly recommend Hosting for sci-fi fans and new to the genre readers alike.

A race to open humans consciousness
We follow Jamie Waters who gets posessed and used in a search for an artifact that may change the destiny of our world. On the way he learns about his posessers worldview and technology. He also learns how people of wisedom and sharp minds shape history. He meets one that betrayes him during the quest and gets involved in a relationship where hopes, goals, and cooperation, some times does not match.
When Jamies family are threatened he moves heaven and earth to gather and conect with enough persons. The aim is to raise an alliance that will twart the enemys hope of keeping the world in ignorance.
Dave Skinner writes in an engaging manner with a small character gallery. He engages deep emotions and pulls the reader into Jamies world and dilemma in an unpoetic manner. Some descriptions ring a bell of recognition, but wether from true life or from great works of fiction, is hard to tell. The events of the novel hangs together and reflects our real world well.
"Hosting" are riveting and shows promise. I look forward to see how Dave Skinner continiues the series "The Core".
